Timelapse from Andover, MN, over 13 days. I captured 36,845 images over that time. On April 1, 2023, we received almost 10" of fresh snow in an April Fool's blizzard. Then over the next couple of weeks, we watched as the snow slowly melted away.

I'm amazed at how much confusion there is about which hole to put the bolt through? Didn't they preplan this out? Not to mention no use of cordless impacts. I guess I'm the idiot?
No issue re which bolt which hole. The antenna must be oriented exactly according to the compass. If it is rotated as little as one holel, cables don't connect, antenna pattern is out of spec, and more. Once the antenna is close, as many bolts as possible quickly go in to stabilize it. Then once it is secure, details such as washers and torque settings are attended to. They really want to get the chopper cast off as quickly as they can.
😮😰😱😭🤪😜🥰😇🤣🤣😭😭🥹🥹😘😘🥰🥰
Great video! Did you film NEDEG of other years as well ?
no way in HELL WOULD I CLIMB THE FIRST step had 1 fall from 11.5 meters even looking makes my head spin me ground man

Сорвался багор, покатился волан, эй прыгай кричу оглаушит болван!
Fucking good job, dude!
Bolssonaro ladrão
It takes a special breed of men to do this unfortunately I haven't have been one of them, but I still got nervous on every climb it's just human nature and if somebody says they're not nervous they're full of s***.
This work could only be accomplished through the miraculous work of the pilot.
All's the pilot is doing is bringing it up but the guys on the pole that's the hardest part. I know I did it for a living.
@@gregorywoodcock2472you ever hold blade pitch in the wind while maintaining tail rotor?
@@tomfrench8191 sure sure have in the military
@@gregorywoodcock2472 I think it's interesting when I do search in the FAA database, you are not listed as a pilot Gregory!? I will agree that climbing that tower takes some balls-of-steel, but dropping that bolt thru the hole don't even come close to the skill level of this pilot! Let's not do our profession a disservice, if you really are a pilot, and understate what it takes to do what we do safely everyday as professional aviators!
My problem is , I'd get all the way to the top of the tower then have to go to the bathroom ... #2
Yes I did it for twenty-two years and that has happened to a few guys believe it or not it's called nerves. No matter how many towers are climb you still get that it's normal. All you have to do is respect it 🙏 and pray you don't get in a electricals storm while you're up there. Now that's happened to me. But look at it like this at our really doesn't touch the ground it's crowded really great it's a loop around and it's insulated it doesn't touch hard to believe.
Impresionante trabajo y destacar la templanza del piloto y los operarios. ¡ felicitaciones !
GOD BLLES YOU MY FRIEND
Nem 1000 por hora me faz subi ai
I was going to give out about the long lead in time but as you have the camera on the antenna, good job.
There is absolutely no amount of money that would get me up there. These works have my utmost respect and admiration 👏
I did this for 22 years the first two towers your after that you just get used to it. Now the highest one I've ever climbed 1501 and that was in Nebraska, but the first thousand but was an elevator that took me up. And the rest is history. But I was making 300 hour all I was doing was checking stability of the tower the stress.
I hope you men are earning a £1000 a day doing that job 🫣
Those guys putting in the bolts seem fucking disorganised: “Where are the washers and nuts”. “I thought you had them!”. To be frank, the mating pieces should have three stubby tapered male and female parts located at 120 degrees from each other so the part being lowered can be located accurately onto the three tapered male parts of the stationary plate, therein also accurately aligning all the bolt holes. Also, three holes should have three red tapered bolts (round drifts) put into them to further ensure the other holes are aligned for quick insertion of all the bolts. The red tapered drifts are then removed and replaced with bolts. What those blokes were doing took far too long!!!
This is America bud we get paid by the hour not in tea, listen to skrewdriver he's a brit..might help you a bit

More balls than brains!
respect!
I'm the type of guy to heroically offer to stay on the ground and keep an eye on the service truck.
And it appears to be SPIT ON 😮
Im frozen just watching.
Why aren’t there any women?
1 in 20 iron workers are female. Its not a big deal.
@@jimlong8077not true, they can’t work with men so even if numbers start high they quit or be injured too fast. It’s between 1-4 percent it’s not a woman’s job the kitchen or someplace soft is better suited for ladies.
They are busy working not filming themselves!
@@chrisstromberg6527 There was no film involved. It's an electronic camera. BTW, documentation in this manner is not vanity. It comes in handy in case of disputes.
Better men than I. I have an awful phobia of heights. A step stool to change a lightbulb in the bathroom gives me severe anxiety. I can't climb a step ladder more than 2 rungs without getting freaky deaky. Can't look up at tall buildings or ride most escalators and can't drive over big overpasses and certainly not tall bridges. On the other hand...I could be in an Alaska floatplane and nap on the way to the fishery. Turbulence never bothers me. Then again. I'm crazy. That way.
Dumb question, hands free comms with the pilot?
Nope. You use hand signals to communicate.
I'd have to hook up my five point harness to the part being removed and get a ride down save me the climb.
How high?
Approximately 868 feet above the ground.
@@uplinkpdx 👍🤞
wow, how'd you get the footage?
my guess is drone
@@secreticelandprod It's a 360 cam mounted to the antenna. The software deleted the mounting arm.
@@uplinkpdx awesome, ty
I’m surprised they all could fit up there with their big ass balls
Man I wish I could do that
It's easy to do it just climb a pole just climb a tower
wow that will pucker your butt i bet
Not to be confused with the former NBC station in Atlantic City, NJ.
