No, he was never a great singer. I've seen him live at least once and he's never been a great performer either. Even when he tried to do the Stone Roses songs live like "I Am The Resurrection" at the bit where he's meant to do a high note, he did so badly out of tune, it just sounded terrible. I often thought he sounded better on record than on a stage.

One of Ian Browns problems in the Roses is that he was in a band with world class musicians, and he was always the weakest link in the band because he wasn't. Its like dropping a League 2 player into the current Liverpool team. That said, i love that first album, its still one of my favourite all timers, Waterfall being in my all time top 5 songs, so would the Roses have been the same with a different singer?? I hear a lot about Ian Browns failings as a singer, but never someone like Bernard Sumner who can't hit a note and i'd say far worse than Brown, but thats New Order🤷‍♂

I absolutely love bonehead and game so it’ll be nice to see Noel and Gere Leeds while bonehead just does what he does best create that wall of Sound, which he is actually the one who’s responsible for it has something to do with his amplification and set up. I do agree with you actually about Andy even though Turn Up the Sun is phenomenal. I don’t think Andy should’ve broken up ride I think if he had kept plugging away with ride eventually they would have become the success they should have been. Andy and ride definitely did not need for Andy to be an oasis. I don’t agree with that. By the way, I’m not saying you said that I’m just saying right or so awesome as it is Robert Smith, the legend himself loves ride. How cool is that? 😁

That is as close as I can get without the WEM Dominator coupling the Marshall, but to my ears the Marshall does the job. Probably ain't gonna happen but I'd still love to see the 90's Oasis back with Bonehead, Guigsy and Alan. Just because it's been so long and the amount of catching up they'd have to do. Plus that was the line up when the band were ultimately at their zenith. However, Gem was an integral part of Oasis's 2nd Act so it would be rather churlish to leave him out of the party.

I agree to a large degree - sorry pulled an Austin Powers there, Anyway, they not only need to make peace with Alan White, but they NEED Whitey back in the band. The Zak experiment didn’t quite work. And my lord did he butcher a lot of those older songs. I find it all so very strange too that they never officially replaced White. Zak never took a band photo more than a couple times w/them. Only in a live setting did either Zak or Chris ever look like a member of the band. So, if they (Zak and Chris) were never official members so I just find that really strange. Admittedly, I’ve been watching a little too much James Hargraves and I actually do believe in the whole master plan theory that according to Tony McCarroll came up with in the very early days. I really Cannot see how the brothers really went all those years according to Liam. I think it was like that I don’t believe it think it’s a charade of the Kinks, The Who, and so many other great legendary bands. We need oasis oasis always has been. I thought that back in the 90s think about it what happen every time someone “quit” Oasis or the brothers “fought” - front cover of mags and plastered all over every website. It was brilliant! It worked as it got them all that attention they wanted and needed. This attention took the focus away from every other of band of the time. Their crazy & fun antics made rock ‘n’ roll music so much fun and outrageous over the top, etc. etc. once again we had seen that since the heyday of the. I do wonder if they have always felt they did wrong by Alan White - Hijbt: THEY DID do wrong by White, firing the man after he was already hurting badly as he was going through a divorce, then, Noel, dragging Liam along by the nose, FIRED ALAN A WEEK BEFORE CHRISTMAS 2004!!! I mean, if other fans cannot see exactly what Alan brought to the band; musical talent and a huge pallet of so many different genres of music that he was there as the band, and Noel in particular was developing as the genius songwriter that he became. But it was Alan White who made a Noel that much better! I LOVE Tony and I always will, but can you imagine being a good songwriter who is trying to improve and try different rhythms, then all of a sudden a young man, you pal Paul Weller’s drummer Steve’s young brother Alan comes along and immediately starts making you work harder, the band play and sound SOOO much better???? Can any of my fellow songwriters here back me up? It was a major turning point for Oasis and Noel in particular. Listen to Definitely Maybe and Morning Glory back to back and tell me that band did t change overnight with Alan White the drum set. They went from a decent, kinda pub band with beautiful, sometimes powerhouse songs to a refined group of professionals that knew exactly what they wanted as a band collectively and THAT was the moment they entered the BIG LEAGUES of Rock n Ro music. And when they come back, hopefully with Alan, that better, and I think it will, be the “new” Oasis. The other reason why I’m caught up in James Hargreaves further theories on what Tony mentioned about “The Masterplan Theory - or, call it for what it likely is: Noel G’s plan to get his band straight to the top”, there are too many coincedences and weird little oddities. For example: I mean, seriously, WHY did they NEVER replace 2nd(and by far, the greatest and only drummer besides Tony, and even then, far It’s) Alan was treated as an absolute equal. So I ask you to tub n deep and come up with a solid excuse: Why did they never replace drummer Alan White with a full time “Official Drummer”? Heck, could this mean that it is very much a possiblity that we just might get to see Tony play on a few DM songs next year’s tour? Even Noel has softe ed up to ideas lately that we thought he would NEVER EVER do again . Have things cooled down between Noel and Tony, who had a heart attack in 2021. He was only 52-ish when he had it and on X Liam sent Tony his love and support and wished him a speedy recovery. The two had a long, much overdo talk at the premier for Supersonic documentary and Tony said afterwards how Liam is still in private the same amazing guy he met when LG joined The Rain. Their sit down was arranged by Liam’s seemingly sweeting a girlfriend. Who has been a huge part of coaxing Liam u to showing his real self which gas been such a wi wonderful and such a beautiful really scornation of Liam growing up and learning to show the world that he’s, the man can laugh at himself. He IS in fact the most wonderfully downti earth man in rock n roll and if people canot see he can take the Mickey out of himself, they’ve got to take the blinders off. Speaking of Liam’s transformation/ grown up, real authentic self shining through the camera lens, through, think of the Liam who was so obviously doing his best John Lydon/Johnny Rotten I oressions during Dig Kut Your Soul interviews from 2008-2”08 then look at the outgoing, funny as hell, grownup Liam with a wonderful and charmingly self deprecated humor that he more often. That he takes aim at himself in more u interviews than not nowadays. Now, I see Liam, who was Wbite’s drinking partner in the later 90s and 2000s - Wvite was tasked with keeping Liam from getting into trouble. They were nicknamed Bert and Er or and other funny names. Maybe Liam talked to Noel and reasoned with him on why they need to make things right with Alan? Btw, Alan wasn’t suffering from “Carpl Tunne”. They said to a freshly divorced Ala. White that, “a you’re not showing proper interest in the band anymore. So you’re fired.” Through their f’ing managers of course. Alan wasn’t suffering from a broken heart and then Noel FIRES HIM?!?!?!?! My god in heaven. That is absolutely sick and disgusting. I hope that has been weighing on Noel’s conscious more often than not since that Terri le, disgusting, and absolutely cowardly move on these guys, but mostly Noel, more often than not ever since. As I said, maybe they left the drum throne available, ever officially filled, (long shot here) in case Alan ever (to Noel) came around again and “showed I terest”. Well, instead, Alan put down the sticks, went into being a realto? And finally started playing like a madman a while back. I li e the TH-cam video/short where Alan kicks the 💩 out of Zak on, of all songs, MY GENERATION!!! Now that is poetic justice imho. Lmao 🤣 Sorry so sloppy. I’m tired, my eyes need a checkup and my phone could be really wonky. Lastly, if they are serious about this thing called “The Master Plasn” then, their very well maybe a good reason why they never filled Alan’s drum throne, why Noel at age 37 said he’d break Oasis up rather than sing “Don’t Look Back Anger” at 41.”; Oasis broke yo when Noel was 41. There are so many other odd and straight up weird coincidences that can e true. I already believe that the two brothers had these staged fights who they learned from their own face bands. So, nah, ao still don’t buy it. Especially if they bring Alan White back, as they darn well should d9!!! What’s truly amazing drummer who helped the band turn into a professional rock n roll band. Fun Fact: A very young Alan White tried out for Gem’s late 80s bands and I believe there’s a chance the two still communicate. Would be the greatest day of my life seeing this amazingly talented and gifted REAL Oasis drummer return to his rightful position. Judging by his video shorts, Alan is actually BETTER than he was back in the 90s or early 2000s. Come on guys!!! The way you chucked him out like you did? 5th at was so wrong and you KNOW IT!

Calling Carroll a “raw powerhouse” is hilarious. It’s the total, complete opposite of his style, sound and what stood for. Painful.

When Tony left Oasis lost that Punk edge.

I feel all the Oasis shows are always top heavy with the first 2 albums then the rest of the albums or great b sides don't get a look in ....I would start the gig with Hello and keep Rock N Roll star for the end so you walk out of the stadium feeling like a rock star no covers this time round no need I would rather another Oasis tune ...Some Personal favourites I would like to hear would be .....Hey Now .... I hope I think I know...... Carry Us All............ lets All Make Believe

its been 30 years so bare with me if i am mistaken lol. But if I recall BHN your Chicago 97, they came back out for encore and did Acquiesce and closed it out with Champaign which is SO AWESOME. Ill never forget it because very few people left and going out with the long solo was epic. Def would not mind that again (it may have been the other way around). .... heres a curveball would love to see Shock of the Lightning in there its my fav of their late stuff

You contradict yourself when you put Guigsy in over Andy Bell saying Guigsy was an inferior musician but was the spirit of Oasis, but then you put Gem in instead of Bonehead. Not only was Bonehead an original member like Guigsy, but Bonehead was a far superior musician to Guigsy also, not only able to play guitar but various instruments.

Bonehead WAS that wall of sound that made Oasis. I’d pick him over Gem every time.

@@eyeballtickler24 I think judging by the fact Bonehead has played with Liam for a few years now, I reckon it's a shoe in he'll be involved. I'm not going no, saw Oasis 11 times in all including Earls Court in 95 and Knebworth in 96, but I'm 45 now and as excited as I am about the reunion, with other priorities that ship has sailed. Are you attending any of them?
