I suspect Asif Ali in this story. Loophole, I feel, is when the son is gun-shot by his mother; blood is supposed to be scattered in her body and her clothes as it was a close-range shot, but it was never found by doctors when she was admitted to the hospital by Asif Ali. The doctors would have definitely questioned if a third person's blood was found in her body or on the clothes she was wearing at that time.

I do think the movie needs to be viewed from another angle where Ajayan is an unreliable narrator feeding Aparna with information that has quite a few holes in it.Appu Pillai is a medal winning expert marksman who has more chances of shooting down a monkey than a 7 year old kid.Its also probable that Appu Pillai is the one who accidentally killed the child in the evening as well. Probably Ajayan with the help of Sumadathan buried the body.Makes more sense why Appu Pillai has doubts on his own involvement .Ajayan is presenting a sanitized version of the story to Aparna who is more concerned about solving a mystery than letting bygones be bygones. This is Ajayan's way of handling Aparna where the crime is justified and Appu Pillai and Praveena's medical condition is used to present a melancholy tale and also forcing Aparna to keep her mouth shut .No way this loop can go on for more than 2 years. The hospital ,which is around 100 kms in Kozhikode, will not indulge repeated frivolous requests for medical reports beyond a point.Appu Pillai never left the house much till recently, so the repeated loop is an exaggeration by Ajayan. I think Appu Pillai 'solved' the mystery maybe a couple of times and forgot about it till the intimation letter came and the loop started.

I disagree with Nona Price because the momentary realization of the Vijayraghavan character was the most powerful because he was aware of his disease and also knew that it was a blessing as it was the only reason or purpose for him to live life to prove it to himself that he was not the person who did it. The loop was important for him to live his life that was the only purpose of his life.

"See no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil" doesnt mean someone literally not seen, hear or speak about something. Its all about pretending not to be, or deliberately ignoring the specific subject. Here in the movie Vijayaraghavan (Appu Pillai) pretends that he has not seen the boy's dead body.. Asif Ali (Ajayan) does not speak out, even though he knew what happened to his son.(thpugh in the end, he was forced to reveal it only to aparna.) Aparna now know the truth by hearing it from Ajayan, but pretends she has not heard anything, and accomponies Ajayan for his next travel to nagpur in search of the kid.

I dont really agree with you about VR speaking too much just before Asif hugged him, because I feel that moment was when he realised everything and it was just before he completly forgot everything. VR momentarily, at times becomes very sharp, like when he confronted the doctor. So Itsok... 😊

See no evil, speak no evil and hear no evil is not entirely correct. Replace evil with 'that which causes unnecessary suffering'. This aligns more with Buddhist philosophy. The incident in question already happened and will do no one any good by spreading it to others by any means. Ajayan committed the sin of speaking about it when he tried to mention it to Appu Pillai but then after seeing the distress it caused on his dad accepted that he should speak about it no more 🙊. Aparna forcibly making her husband reveal the truth committed the sin of hearing about the incident. But then she decides the best course is to hear no more 🙉. Appu pillai in his own way sees the incident unfold through his investigation and decides the best route is not to see it any more by burning the memories of it out of his mind 🙈.

I found an excellent decoding from Sheetal Azeez, TY at SheandSha007 . Its in Malayalam. Let me summarize it. 3 monkeys -Japanese proverb. It is based on Wisdom of Self-control for having peace. 1st Wise Monkey - Speak no evil- Appu pilla. Hide truth by ignorance. Though he find the truth at end, he keep silent in every aspects. 2nd Wise Monkey - See no evil - Ajaychandran . Denial of truth. He has witnessed and aware of all truths, but keep silent. 3rd Wise Monkey - Hear no evil - Aparna, Hide truth by ignorance. Though hear truth from everyone. Later it all ignored She also proposed excellent theories which reveal the answer to missing body.

No doubt, it's a very good movie. If we look closely, we can see that the theme is heavily inspired by Shutter Island. I'll try to provide a brief summary of why I think so : Similarities (in theme, not the entire story): 1. The protagonist is in search of a missing person. 2. After a while, we learn that the protagonist has issues with his memory. He repeats his actions and continues trying to find the missing person. 3. The protagonist only remembers what he wants to remember (in Kishkindha Kandam, the hero's father suffers from a similar condition). 4. In Shutter Island, the protagonist eventually realizes that his wife killed their children. In *Kishkindha Kandam*, the hero’s wife accidentally kills a child. 5. In Shutter Island, the protagonist has a friend who is a cop, but at the very end of the movie, it is revealed that he is actually a psychologist treating the protagonist for his mental illness.

I heard reviews that this film is as good as Drishyam and so only went to watch it. But I’m depressed. You can never compare it with Drishyam. There is no thrilling crime story in this. The gun was accidentally shot by kid himself, which resulted in his death. What is thrilling in this? Didn’t feel like I’ve watched a movie after coming out of theater. But the acting of all actors and the scenery was nice. I watched ARM last week, it is a super film, you feel like you have watched something when you come out of the theater. I give 90% for ARM, and 45 to 55% mark only for this film.

It was a loop hole and I felt like the story didn't reach anywhere 😌 Only Appupilla knows where the child was hidden Ajayan didn't tell his father that he was dead and his mother shot him. When Appupilla came, he must have seen the child dead, in his sudden frenzy, he hide his body, but the next moment, he must have forgotten, that is, as if nothing had happened, he saw his son drinking porridge with ease. He knows that it was his son or daughter-in-law who killed the child, so that no one knows that all the evidence is burned, then he is looking for the child without even knowing what was burned. Ajayan is unable to find where the child was hidden due to his father's forgetfulness, that is why Ajayan does not stop his father's search.
