Fall Trail Birding 4K
It's a beautiful fall morning, and I'm Birding along Marion Tallgrass trail in Marion County, Ohio on October 19, 2024. I've got my Sony A1 and Sony 200-600mm lens and high hopes for a fun and adventurous outing. Nature doesn't disappoint, and I was excited by a couple of close bird encounters.

Hurricane Helene Warblers 4K
มุมมอง 338หลายเดือนก่อน
Hurricane Helene blew into the state of Ohio a week ago. On this day, it is merely a stalled front. I'm hoping to see and photograph warblers that dropped down to seek safe haven. However, the cloud cover provides low light that makes photography a challenge, but I'm up for it! Filmed September 30, 2024 at Killdeer Plains Wildlife Area in Wyandot, Ohio.
Storm Front Warblers! 4K
มุมมอง 469หลายเดือนก่อน
Join me as I go looking for warblers after a storm front passed through. The outing started off slow, but warbler activity picked up. It turned out to be one of my best warbler adventures. I even got a great surprise! It was a cloudy, low light day for handheld photography. I had my Sony A1 in Aperture Priority mode, and the low light was slowing shutter speeds. It was a challenge to avoid drea...

An amazing fact about migrating warblers reveals you can find warblers any time of the day. I usually go looking in the early morning. However, this time I head out in the afternoon when bird activity typically slows. Will I see any warblers? Could I possibly see just as many warblers as I do in the early morning hours? Come along and find out. You will learn you can find warblers anytime! Film...

Fall migration is in full swing, and I'm out hunting warblers in Marion County, Ohio! I explore three locations and find several species of warblers to photograph! It was a delightful surprise when a Magnolia Warbler flew out from the bushes and landed on a young, thorny sapling and put on quite a show right in f...

Looking for warblers and howling hunting dogs don't mix! Yes, I had a dog encounter while Birding! Join me looking for fall migrating warblers at Killdeer Plains Wildlife Area in Wyandot County, Ohio on September 2, 2024. I saw and photographed a LOT of Warblers! But it wasn't easy. Squirrel hunting season had begun and, in addition to hunting dogs, many hunters were in the woods and.... Well, ...

Join me as I go looking for early fall migrating warblers in late summer in Ohio on August 28, 2024. This outing takes place at Killdeer Plains Wildlife Area, a popular Birding spot in Wyandot County. We do find early warblers, and I get redemption from an earlier photo of an American Redstart that was taken just two days prior. "C'mon! Let's Go Birding!"
Early Fall Warbler! 4K

I go Birding at a local park that looks very promising. My goal is to see an early fall migrating warbler. But it's still summer, and bird activity is very low. Was I expecting too much? Maybe. The outing started out dismally and ended with a surprising BANG! Come along and see what happened. "C'mon! Let's Go Birding!"

Join me as I go summer Birding at Killdeer Plains Wildlife Area in Wyandot County, Ohio on 8-12-2024. Birds can be quiet, secretive and elusive during summer. They are nesting and protecting eggs & fledglings. However, by staying alert and watchful, many can be found and enjoyed. WARNING: There is a disturbing scene that prompted the title of this video. I do give a warning prior to showing it....

I'm having a great time Birding at Marion Tallgrass Trail in Marion County, Ohio on July 16, 2024. It's such a fun outing that I wonder if I'm having too much fun! I saw a Bald Eagle perched on high way across the lake. I really want to photograph it, but will it still be there when I get there? Then there is the encounter that has me asking, "Is this legal?!" Want to go Birding? "C'mon! Let's ...

Thank you for sharing. I really enjoy your videos!
Thank you for a lovely morning walk with the birds - so cute!
Fantastic!
Beautiful photos!!! Thank you for sharing. 🙏🤗
Wow you made some awesome shots and saw some great birds!
Those Kinglet shots were great! I love seeing those little beauties. Looks like you had a great birding day. I love seeing the Butter Butts.
Another beauty Dan….. Much appreciated 👍
I found your channel recently, and now I look forward to every upload! Thanks for all of the great birding tips, pretty pictures, and positivity!
I have lots of Chickadees in my neighborhood, but very few Warblers, sadly.
Two Endemic Subspecies if Galapagos Yellow Warblers and Darwin Vermillion Flycatcher here in the Galapagos Islands are endemic.
The Amount of Tennessee warblers 😂
You made some great images of the Prairie Warbler. I have really enjoyed you video just found you a couple of months ago. I am out for the fall migration for the first time ever in central NC and it's been amazing. We get tons of Warblers through our area in spring and fall. Cheers and keep up the great work.
Wonderful video Dan, have seen many warbers recently in New Jersey as well! Some of the species I have seen are American Redstart, Black and White, Blackburnian, Cape May, Chestnut Sided, Common Yellowthroat, Magnolia, Orange Crowned, Palm, and Yellow Rumped! I have also seen many kinglets, vireos and Flycatchers. Thanks for all your tips and I love your videos. Keep up the great work as you inspire me to be a better birder everyday. 👏🏻
Great video! Thanks to you I was able to ID the Magnolia Warblers in fall plumage I saw this morning! Congrats on seeing Wilson’s!
Dan, so glad that you didn't suffer as badly as so many others did. That hurricane was insane. God help those people and communities.
Looked kind of like Blendon Woods. Am I right?
@@wincoffin7985 That was filmed in Marion County, Ohio.
Great show !! Very worth the time 👊🏼👊🏼👍🏼
I am heading out tomorrow morning for some birding near Fort Smith Arkansas. Hoping for some good migration action.
warblers looked awesome with the change of colors starting for fall, cool info about the chickadees
Very nice !! Keep em coming 👍🏼👊🏼
I have only seen the Black-throated Blue twice. I only got one lousy photo. Well done Dan!
just had a huge flurry of warblers at 2p in the draw right by my place. my wife asked, 'what's that little yellow bird.' moments later we were surrounded by 15-20 warblers, and managed to ID about 2/3. got several new birds for the home location. i've also had several other great midday outings this fall. it's true they can be found anytime during migration. it's true they sing most in the morning during spring, but in fall they're not singing anyway. love the enthusiasm, thanks for the video :)
Very nice -- love those confusing fall warblers. Maybe we'll stumble across each other in the field some time! I bird at Killdeer Plains sometimes, Blendon Woods, or other central OH spot.
Wow! Cape May! What a treat!
Dan, my wife and I were inspired by your videos and went on our own Warbler search this weekend. We live in Northeast Ohio and over two days we found about 5-6 different Warblers along with several other songbirds. You make it look so easy but I had to work hard to get the shots I was looking for. I am shooting a 150-600mm Sigma lens and as you know, these little beauties do not sit still long. Appreciate the inspiration and the tip to follow the chickadees to find the Warblers. Looking forward to watching your next adventures
@@kevinrhodes2367 Thank you, Kevin! Your comment got me right in the heart. Congrats to you and your wife on finding those warblers!
One year later ! I watch this video on september, 23 2024 !
All your video are really fun to watch and your pictures are always top notch !
I did enjoy the video. I haven't been seeing many warblers here in Arkansas. I am going birdwatching tomorrow morning with an Audubon group. Maybe we will see all the birds you saw if they have headed this way 😅.
@@BirdBrainBrian64 Thank you, Brian. Best of luck tomorrow!
Great pictures of some beautiful warblers!
You made some great shots and found some beauties! I know how hard these little ones are to capture and you did a great job. Well done.
That red-bellied woodpecker in mid-jump is an amazing shot!! They’re one of my favorite woodpeckers, second only to downys probably. Can’t beat that stubby lil beak
Praise God for His goodness…. 🙏🏼👍

Lovely video and great photos 😊 I particularly loved the Oven bird shots. I would be very happy to find any of those birds I'm Ireland this autumn.
@@stephenbolger5925 Thank you, Stephen. Enjoy Ireland!
Always impressed with your pictures! I’m ready to start practicing my photo skills. Can you share your camera and lens set up?
@@Octochinchilly Thank you, and sure. I shoot in aperture priority mode with auto ISO. I use back button auto focus. When photographing warblers, my shutter speed is set at 1/4000 sec. And I'll get that speed if there's enough light. If there isn't, in aperture priority mode, the camera will select the fastest shutter speed possible. But, yes, a fast shutter speed is necessary to "freeze" those fast moving warblers. Hope that helps you out some. Best of luck!
Another super video Dan…… Much appreciated…. Have a wonderful new week…. Hope all is well with your wife and brother who you asked us to pray for? 🙏🏻🙏🏻
@@viewfinder-ianjhicks4039 Thank you, and thank you for asking about my wife and brother. My wife had surgery to have a mass removed. She is fully recovered, and there is no cancer! My brother had major surgery. He is recovering and also doing well. We are all so thankful!
Enjoyed the Video Dan……. A cracking collection of warblers.👍👏
Sensacional a variedade de Toutinegras
I miss seeing the Chestnut-sided. I saw them frequently when I lived in Michigan but haven't seen any here in Arkansas. We do have many other warblers here but not as many as Michigan.
What a lovely selection of warblers. I need to keep working on my Fall warbler ID game. Some of them are so confusing.
@@bopyranks Believe me, I have my moments and sometimes ask for help. Every year you learn more and your knowledge base grows. But, absolutely, we all have trouble from time to time, especially with fall warblers.
Great video Dan. You sure scored on the warblers. I have seen all of those and more over the years but the Bay-breasted only a couple times. Thanks for the tip about chickadees. I didn't know that.
Great stuff Dan…. Another excellent outing…. 👍
I did enjoy y9our video of a very successful day with the warblers.
An unbelievably successful collection of warblers in one day. Congratulations. I can also appreciate the sound of a pack of beagles running rabbits and the squirrel hunter enjoying early morning success. Different strokes for different folks and all out enjoying nature.
I'm betting you would have more success if you got in your truck and let it creep down the road while you look and listen for signs of activity. There is plenty of room on the shoulders to get over for other vehicles which seem to be scarce anyway. I've done that for years and it works. Sometimes I park in a good place for 30 minutes or more before I move on. I put a piece of a foam pool noodle on the window edge and rest the camera on that. I use the elec windows to adjust for elevation. Beats walking with a heavy camera and scaring the birds.
Well done Dan. I have seen some fall warblers here in Arkansas lately. They are indeed difficult to identify.
Warbler bonanza indeed!
Birding is a lot of fun because you never know what you're going to see.
Great Video - I am new to birding and man it's difficult to identify all the different warblers - the shots in this video help.
