Hi Ms. Orletta. Welcome. How nice to cruise during the holiday season, right!!!? I do scouting only if it is a place that I think I might want to retire in the future. Since I have limited time in port, I mostly book a ship excursion that does city highlights. I've also taken a cab tour (in Honduras) and was given a personal tour by a local (St. Thomas). There are videos of those on the channel. It's helped me get a taste of the places that I want to return and spend more time in when I eventually start country dating. 🌻🤗🚢

@PovertyToParadise I know it is more expensive but I have been on a Christmas cruise for the last 2 Christmases. Sitting home for a week in snow and darkness is too depressing.

@@orlettacaldwell Amen. Good for you. If you are able to get some of the cruise hacks I show on this channel, you can probably lower your costs even during Christmas. My upcoming 7-day cruise Dec 21 to Dec 28 is only costing me $255 (not including gratuities & other extras). But even if we're stuck & alone in the snow for Christmas, we can still make the best out of any situation right!? Hoping and praying your desires are fulfilled this holiday season. Hey there. I am currently booked through Thanksgiving 2025. What happens with my hair depends on my mood (like all women, right?) 😂 Since I have been full-time cruising, I have been to a hairdresser, I have had my hair braided at the port in Cozumel, and most recently, I braided my own hair and added crochet curls. 😎

@PovertyToParadise Okay. That's great that your booked up until the end of next year and a Blessing. I wanted to know about the hair bc I'm a 36 year old black female that can't do my own hair so I was curious. Lol. But I have locs now but I get them retwisted and styled once a month

@tlind336 I'd like to try locs. I've had frozen shoulder a few times and not able to do my own hair either so I understand your dilemma. I advocate for easy non-manipulative styles whenever possible. 😆🤗🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Yes, Ms. Melissa. Living on Social Security with some 401k cushion is a part of my plan and possibly do-able for you as well, which is the reason I created this channel in the 1st place. To let others who are also on a low fixed income know that this is a possibility. Even if they don't choose go as extreme as I did! Selling my house to not have additional expenses and putting the equity in investments helped me as well. I don't ever plan on "working" again tho so, good luck with that. Hello again 👋 hahaha.... first of all, why do you stay in your room? Unless I'm editing TH-cam videos or just having one of those "I'm just staying in to binge watch TV all day" days, I'm hardly in my cabin other than to bathe & sleep. There is so much to do and see all around the ship. I have cruised with quite a few Balcony and Oceanview cabins (I'm in an Oceanview on Independence of the Seas right now) and I hardly ever went out on the balcony or looked out of the window. I do like to get fresh air; I typically go for a morning walk on the top deck and I will go sit out on the helipad or the lanai occasionally while listening to downloaded content on my phone, but not enough where I need those types of cabins. For B2Bs, I have a mixture of moving to different cabins and staying in the same cabin. It just depends on what was available at the time that I booked the cruises. I have one set of cruises later next year where I am in the same interior cabin for 14 back-to-back sailings [4, 5 & 6 day cruises].
