    Hi Lynelle, I love your channel.😊 You can save more money on a MSC cruise if you apply for their Matching Status since you’re Platinum on Carnival now. You can do the same on Virgin Cruises but you have to take one of their cruises before the end of the year. I don’t know if they will continue in 2025. Happy Cruising!!🛳️

    Hi Lynelle,
    I think your information was awesome!! Living on a cruise ship can definitely be an alternative way of life in comparison to us land dwellers. I cruise often and that cruise plum may be an excellent source for finding cheap cruises to allow earn rewards to get to top tier status quicker. I’m definitely with you concerning gratuities.. what most people don’t realize is that the money actually goes to the cruise line and not necessarily the workers.. I usually have them taken off my account and give cash to whomever I feel like it.. usually the cabin steward…thanks again.

My husband passed away in December of 2023 and now I am thinking about trying out solo traveling and an inside cabin in 2025. Royal Caribbean is my favorite so I think I will aim for that. Hello Lynelle, I love what and how you travel on the cruise ship 🚢. How do you avoid paying gratuities fees and do you pay travel insurance fees?

    • @PovertyToParadise
      @PovertyToParadise  3 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Hi Kathy 👋🏽 I do not "avoid" paying gratuities. I pay gratuities every cruise, but if you choose not to pay them or want to give cash directly to staff rather than doing the standard, you can just go to guest services and ask them to adjust or remove gratuities from your account. [Carnival & Royal Caribbean]
      I do not pay for travel insurance. The credit cards I use include $5k travel insurance for each trip I book and as you can see from my content, I never pay near to $5k per trip. 🤗🛳
      Thanks for watching...

    • @kathyyeadon3176
      @kathyyeadon3176 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @Thank you for replying to my comment. I noticed gratuities can be pricey. When having your gratuities adjusted or removed is there a set amount to pay? If so what is the amount one has to pay physically to staff (cruising solo)?

    • @PovertyToParadise
      @PovertyToParadise  3 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @kathyyeadon3176 You're welcome. There is no set amount. Just like tips at a restaurant. You can pay $0, you can do $2 per person, you do $100! It's 100% up to you, just like any other customer service tip. The standard amounts are $16 per person per day on Carnival. It breaks down to $4.68 cabin steward, $7.56 dining room staff, $3.76 alternative services = $16 per person, per day. Again, no set amount. Some people leave it as is, some take that amount & give cash, some people tip a couple dollars cash every time someone helps them, some people don't tip at all. All up to you. My opinion: go with your conscience. If I get bad service [which almost never happens on a cruise], then I don't tip. If I get exceptional service, I give above & beyond the standard. You do you. 🤗💞🛳

    I’m wondering. You mentioned gratuities. I booked with ncl I’m wondering what happens if you don’t pay the gratuities how do they know what has been calculated for you at the end of the cruise?

    • @PovertyToParadise
      @PovertyToParadise  4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@blaccwidowblaccemporium7972 Hi. It depends on who is THEY? On Carnival, your room steward will know bc they put a hard copy of your final statement in your mailbox at the end of the cruise. Otherwise, it depends on who THEY is. 👀🤷🏽‍♀️😆

    • @blaccwidowblaccemporium7972
      @blaccwidowblaccemporium7972 4 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @ was wondering what exactly gratuities pay for, a personal 24 hour butler is included in my up coming cruise trip, and I’ve read that the prepaid gratuities will not go to the butler. So who will the gratuity go to? Silly question but I really don’t know lol.

    • @PovertyToParadise
      @PovertyToParadise  4 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @blaccwidowblaccemporium7972 If you Google cruise gratuities breakdown, you'll see examples like this: $16 per day per person 》》
      $3.55 stateroom attendant
      $5.95 dining room staff
      $6.50 other [Lido deck, etc]
      So, on a 7 day cruise, a cabin for 2 people would be giving a room steward about $50. They do about 30 rooms each. Not everyone pays gratuities but even if only 1/2 did, it comes to about $3/k or more per month. So, they could potentially make $36k to $70k a year just in gratuities not including their regular salary and their food & accommodations are included. This is exponentially more than they could make in their home country. #HopeThatHelps 🤗

    Hello again, Lynelle! In one of your videos, you shared how the ship's drinking water could negatively affect one's body, and you recommended taking bottled water on board. Two questions: How are they allowing you to bring bottled water on board (Carnival states on their site that passengers are only allowed canned or boxed non-alcoholic beverages, not bottles, or you can order from Carnival at $18/per case of 12)?; and are water filtration systems, such as Brita cups, allowed? Thank you for useful information, as always.

    • @PovertyToParadise
      @PovertyToParadise  25 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @carewisdom Hi 👋🏽 In that video, I was explaining that I'm tired of paying the $18 & requested suggestions on types of filtering bottles that others use, so, no, I'm not bringing bottled water onboard. FYI, a lady in front of me TODAY in security line for Venezia had a case of bottled water & had no issues, in fact, security lifted the box of bottles onto the scanner belt for her, so, I don't know how strict they are, but no, I don't carry bottled water on board. @@PovertyToParadise thank you for reaching back. I will phrase the question differently. How are you able to make these videos on the ship without purchasing a WiFi plan from the ship? How can you use your cell phone on the ship without purchasing a WiFi plan? If I am not mistaking in this video you said you didn't need to purchase a WiFi plan.

    • @PovertyToParadise
      @PovertyToParadise  13 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @godschild917 Oh, ok. I understand now. Thank you for clarifying. So, 1st, I don't need wi-fi to 'make' videos, only to upload them to TH-cam. Also, I connect to cell phone towers every time the ships go back in port which is almost every week and I have Verizon coverage in U.S. territories, Mexico, Canada. When I'm at sea, I'm on airplane mode and on the ships free wifi [to use their app] occasionally that wifi allows me to see messages on TH-cam, but not pictures so I can read comments and reply, but nothing else. So, if I want full access to streaming sites, I have to purchase the ships wi-fi. 🛳
