Hi Lynelle, I love your channel.😊 You can save more money on a MSC cruise if you apply for their Matching Status since you’re Platinum on Carnival now. You can do the same on Virgin Cruises but you have to take one of their cruises before the end of the year. I don’t know if they will continue in 2025. Happy Cruising!!🛳️
📌Oh wow!!! I did not know that. Gonna pin this comment so I can remember and others will see it. Thank you so much for this helpful info!!! & thanks for watching.🚢
Hi Lynelle, I think your information was awesome!! Living on a cruise ship can definitely be an alternative way of life in comparison to us land dwellers. I cruise often and that cruise plum may be an excellent source for finding cheap cruises to allow earn rewards to get to top tier status quicker. I’m definitely with you concerning gratuities.. what most people don’t realize is that the money actually goes to the cruise line and not necessarily the workers.. I usually have them taken off my account and give cash to whomever I feel like it.. usually the cabin steward…thanks again.
@JohnDoe-tq4fb Thank you. I appreciate your perspective. Yes, we can use cruise plum for so many different planning strategies. I think people put too much emphasis on other people's wallets. 🤷🏽♀️🙏🏽🛳

Thanks for the tip about CruisePlum, I am definitely going to check them out. I have cruised quite a bit but always with friends or family and always in a balcony cabin! Hi Kathy 👋🏽 I do not "avoid" paying gratuities. I pay gratuities every cruise, but if you choose not to pay them or want to give cash directly to staff rather than doing the standard, you can just go to guest services and ask them to adjust or remove gratuities from your account. @kathyyeadon3176 You're welcome. There is no set amount. Just like tips at a restaurant. You can pay $0, you can do $2 per person, you do $100! It's 100% up to you, just like any other customer service tip. The standard amounts are $16 per person per day on Carnival. It breaks down to $4.68 cabin steward, $7.56 dining room staff, $3.76 alternative services = $16 per person, per day. Again, no set amount. Some people leave it as is, some take that amount & give cash, some people tip a couple dollars cash every time someone helps them, some people don't tip at all. All up to you. My opinion: go with your conscience. If I get bad service [which almost never happens on a cruise], then I don't tip. If I get exceptional service, I give above & beyond the standard. You do you. 🤗💞🛳

@ was wondering what exactly gratuities pay for, a personal 24 hour butler is included in my up coming cruise trip, and I’ve read that the prepaid gratuities will not go to the butler. So who will the gratuity go to? Silly question but I really don’t know lol.
@blaccwidowblaccemporium7972 If you Google cruise gratuities breakdown, you'll see examples like this: $16 per day per person 》》 $3.55 stateroom attendant $5.95 dining room staff $6.50 other [Lido deck, etc] So, on a 7 day cruise, a cabin for 2 people would be giving a room steward about $50. They do about 30 rooms each. Not everyone pays gratuities but even if only 1/2 did, it comes to about $3/k or more per month. So, they could potentially make $36k to $70k a year just in gratuities not including their regular salary and their food & accommodations are included. This is exponentially more than they could make in their home country. #HopeThatHelps 🤗
