Sea Castles, Souks & Soap at Sidon The Ruins of Tyre, Lebanon
Thank you for shareing ❤
Interesting information about the lakes. Your choice of music is lovely.
I wish there were an AI-generated video that could imagine and recreate what Lebanon’s landscape might look like if its cedar forests had been preserved and not extensively cut by past civilizations. Such a video could beautifully depict endless, dense cedar forests covering the mountains, as they once did thousands of years ago. It could show how these majestic trees would have transformed the environment, influencing the biodiversity, climate, and culture of the region. The video could also explore alternate histories, such as how Lebanon’s economy, traditions, and architecture might have evolved if the cedar forests had remained intact. This imaginative portrayal would serve as a reminder of the importance of preserving natural heritage and the consequences of deforestation, while also celebrating the grandeur of the Cedrus libani as a timeless symbol of Lebanon.
great trip
Great trip
Your video was truly beautiful and inspiring. As a fellow creator, I appreciate the effort you put into it. Sub and 👍5
Hi, thank-you very much! Positive feedback is always appreciated and keeps me motivated to keep uploading videos.
Absolutely stunning guys. Thankyou for really slow camera paning at every view and for the info on this amazing area of our country. T.
I am glad you enjoyed it - I had to slow down to capture the magic of the place!
Beautiful colours and plants and stunning variety of them in flower. Thank you
I was surprised by the flowers, considering it was winter!
All this because of the west's greed. We paid China to threaten the rest of the world.
It is certainly a great trail. Well done.
Huh?
😊 Awesome. Cheers! Congratulations 👏👏👍 🎉
Thank you! Also, thank-you for watching the series :)
Wow great
Yep, bitter sweet 😊
Beautiful colours! Beautiful colours!
Hi, hoping you both stayed well after this camp. That was a beautiful waterhole at 4.30 mminutes !
"Spent the afternoon surrounded by a million miles of desert on top of a hill." Not many people get to say that. 😊
I had a chortle seeing you enjoy your burger, it was obviously like heaven as I presume was a shower. Truely enjoying your presentations. 🌻
After so long eating the dehydrated meals and cliff bars it was incredible! We ate a lot at Standley. The shower wasn't that great - a single dribble of water that alternated between freezing cold and scalding hot!
Is there still forced military service??
As far as I am aware, there is currently no conscription in Pakistan
Can we use the power of social media to find this woman, to see what became of her!
I am sure Thillini would appreciate it!
I really enjoyed this interview and your honesty Amit.
I think the hardest part is that aphasia doesn't effect your intelligence but leaves you unable to communicate effectively with others so it gives off that impression. Must be very frustrating!
A cup of coffee may have saved your life
Yeah - funny how random insignificant choices you make every day can alter the course of your life
How did the instructor react?
Professionally and deployed the emergency chute as he was trained to do. He didn't let on to me there was anything wrong either (until we landed). Although seeing our parachute float away and us start free-falling again was a bit of a give away
You should have gone to a hospital
I can't imagine getting tear gassed after watching a sporting event - and in France!
I wonder what would have happened had they lost!
Did the police catch the guy??
No they didn't - but I started locking my doors
Great story - The spring gets its heat from the nearby Krafla volcano so I imagine the waters would have been almost intolerably hot
The campsite near Selby Alley looks great, what a spot!
It is a great camping site and a short walk in - however it is starting to get more popular and you don't have the place to yourself weekend like back in the day.
Can you take dogs here??
No. But you can take dogs to the nearby Dudley Beack
Beautiful coastline 😯
I have stayed in Munro Hut a few years back - in dire need of some maintenance work, pretty dirty, especially the bunks.
Sadly thats what tends to happen when people don't abide by the 'leave no trace' philosophy when hiking/camping.
Are Jumper Jacks only found in Australia?
They are native to Australia
Another spot ruined now by the amount of people that visit
All Aussie is getting ruined by overpopulation
isn't the road in closed?
The start point of this hike is inaccessible to vehicles due to closure of Mt Allyn Rd. The Forestry Corporation of NSW has closed the road due to a failed bridge. The reopening date is not known at this stage. it has been closed now since December 2023. You could still walk this road, but it would add a day or two and not possible over a weekend.
How long was the wait to get into the Figure 8 Pool 🤣 This spot has been ruined by the amount of people that visit daily
~10mins. It wasn't too crowded when we visited, but I can see how it has the potential to be - especially when its only accessible certain times of the day based on tides.
Have you done the Otford to Bundeena walk, I think it's 30km?
No I haven't. I would like to but it's too far a drive to do this trip over a weekend, I would need a long weekend - holidays we usually do longer 3 week+ trips.
Should have just gotten a bus to the ruins saved the miserable walk🤣
The walk was incredible despite the rain, I would make the same choice again.
He didn't actually fall, he just chose to let go. He wouldn't have "fallen" hadn't there been any water.
I am still awed by the colours and rock formations out there. Beautiful flowers. I'm saying nothing nice about the spinifex though! Ouch. T.
It certainly is a beautiful part of the world. The Spinifex wasn't fun and very invasive on the trail. I would recommend gloves for these sections of the trail!
Did Exped replace the mat???
Yes, they did. Léo was very happy.
What books did you take for the trail?
I unfortunately left my kindle at the hotel. I was reading it on the plane and put it in léo's laptop bag when the flight landed and forgot it was there in the hurry to pack/shop/prep the drop boxes. Our flight landed 2pm and our transport was the next morning. I had 1000s books on the kindle but I had these recently downloaded; 1) The Hidden Queen (Peter V Brett), 2) Shadows (part of Hugh Howey Silo Saga), 3) The Orphans Secret (Shirley Dickson) and One Second After (William Forstchen).
Do you think Ellery Creek North or South is the better option??
I haven't been to Ellery South but I have had friends who have been to both (including one who swam across the big hole) and we spoke to people on trail and I think the general consensus is the Ellery North. North has hikers only no tourists just a different vibe/quieter. The creek bed is a beautiful place to camp. The walk from Serpentine Gorge to Ellery North is incredibly beautiful. From what I have heard the track to the south is a lot of boulder hopping and unremarkable . It was worth carrying the extra day food - even with inconvenient location of Serpentine gorge food drop from the campsite!
Is rocky gulley worth staying at?
It was our least favourite campsite on trail. It was hot, exposed/minimal shade, lots of flies and not really pretty/good views
Loved this series, very entertaining
Beautiful campsite!
It was so peaceful and I had the site to myself. One of my top 10 campsites.
What do you think gave you the food poisoning!?!
WIND at 72km/h 😦😲
It was crazy, certainly an experience
Was hitchhiking safe in those remote areas!?!??!
I think it has been mostly phased from the turn of the 20th century
Are there usually snowstorms/snow then??
Apparently it was the coldest winter in 30 years and the cold season lasted a few weeks longer than normal - unfortunately into the start of my cycle tour. It was amazing seeing it snow onto boiling mud!
Those TUNNELS 😲😯😧
