    How is rhe working out for you now? I was working on designing a fixed station but with the Dewalt 779 the station would need to be deep. I already have the stand and put it on a rolling platform. I could tuck this against the wall when not needed Thought hard aboud getting a non slider to use to take up less space. The 779 is way more than i need but i have it so might as well use it. Small shop so space is a premium.

    • @mr.4ambuilds913
      @mr.4ambuilds913 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I really enjoy it, it’s nice to be able to clamp and have more surface space to hold pices steady, but also be mobile if needed. Same as you the only problem is how far the slider is away from the wall.

    This is so satisfying and underrated- outright subscribed less than 3 minutes in, just because, and I just love the vibe of this video! Not sure if your username pertains to getting up at 4am to build stuff, but that concept certainly resonates with me- after many years of "having no time" to do hobbies or things I enjoy, I started getting up up at 4am everyday and spending 2 hours doing ANY hobby or activity I want to do in that 2 hour window I blocked out for myself. It has made such a difference in my life and overall well-being. I love making and fixing all sorts of things- clothes, painting, refinishing free furniture and doing small repairs... Even though I've never done actual wood working, I enjoyed this, and I do have a friend who is into it and helps me out when I need wood cut and such. I would love to have a standing desk, but many of them out there are out of budget and/or unattractive, so watching this is simply inspiring for someone like me! Thanks again for this upload! Fawn 😊

    How is your diy dolly compare to the packout one? Id think its heavier but also more robust. Id likely add a spacer in the middle too for support /shrug

    • @mr.4ambuilds913
      @mr.4ambuilds913 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s holing up well, I like that I can slide it around but also use the dolly if needed with minimal effort and don’t have to disassemble anything. Maybe a little L bracket on the lip would help save the wood from the dolly but I can always do that any time if it gets to banged up.

    • @mr.4ambuilds913

    Thank you for the indepth review.... off topic question. How well do you like the Dewalt cordless brad nailer and palm router I see on your bench? Are they worth the investment? Does the (I'm assuming) brad nailer work well? Would you recommend both? One? Neither? Thanks

    • @mr.4ambuilds913
      @mr.4ambuilds913 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the kind words! I do like both. The nailer is a top heavy, I tend to use it with a 1.5ah battery tho to keep the weight down. It dosent miss-fire often but when it does it’s easy to clear and not having a cord is the best! The router works great. East to adjust, the power is there for what I do and the LED lights illuminate the cut well. I also have the plunge base witch I think is a must have option, and again not having a cord makes it easy to use.

    I wonder if it would be better (at a larger scale) to build more plywood closed drawers and fill them with lots of PackOut organizer bins and then only have 3 or so PackOut suitcases to fill as required and then take out to the jobsite. The alternative would be stacks of PackOut drawers and then all of the casework is done for you (at a price, of course).

    • @mr.4ambuilds913
      @mr.4ambuilds913 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think more plywood drawers with the organizers is a great idea, it’s shop friendly and also could be mobilized. After a wile of using the cabinet pulling open the drawer and then lifting the lid of the packout is a second step that can be annoying, but tolerable.

    Love your tips. Especially showing up dressed decently. A funny note to your advice about floor protection: As a commercial electrician I have sworn off doing residential work for a variety of reasons. That being said, I did agree to do some work for the head of our Civic Center, where I had been hired for lighting work. I went to this gentleman's beautiful home, and the very first thing I managed to do was gouge his beautiful wood floor with the leg of my extension ladder (he had high walls), when the rubber foot flipped aside and the aluminum-edged fiberglass went to work on his floor. The expression on the gentleman's face fully justified my commercial-work-only rule. Fond memory. . .

      @mr.4ambuilds913 yeah, you can definitely use both... but certain rip cuts can be a pain with right blade. The only actual advantage with right blade is for righties using it as a toe saw up against a wall. When I was a lefty, it was great to use a right blade track saw (the TS75 was my go-to for everything). But after losing left arm/leg function, I started to learn much more about the ergonomics of tools. Sadly, Festool has developed a sort of "High and Mighty" arrogance that prevents them from comprehending that things could be better. So, i don't use their products anymore. But, it turned into a positive, because I'd likely have never tried Mafell, which makes festools products feel like Milwaukee. But still, they don't make a left blade track saw. (Apologies for the long winded post, bug I'm actually looking into a all-in-one system I've recently found called the "Torque Work Centere". It's out of Australia and it seems pretty awesome and might put an end to my tracksaw days as a whole.) Anyways, thanks for the reply, stay safe out there!

      Thank you. That’s a 6” Paolini pocket rule made by Woodpeckers. It’s like $35 and i use it all the time.
