Don’t care about the reviews, people’s opinion, this is the best movie ever.
✨What’re you looking at, bitch?✨
Famous great Sax player Lee Allen the best in 50's...
Very nice warmup! I recently use basically the same exercise to memorize scale degrees :D Printed out it looks like this: 1357-6543 2461-7654 3… etc. and the inverted Version: 6427-1234 5316-7123 4… etc. This has done soo much for me in such a short time. Apart from getting the chords under my fingers, it dramatically boosted my ability to transpose by making me see/think tunes in scale degrees.
This should be studied by all jazz musicians.
Go Pete. What a man giving us he's wisdom..
Thank you!
Hi Pete. Do you have the backing track for Cafe Blues?. From the tamingthesaxophone sites.
If anyone would influence me to try the saxophone again it would be you, Pete, loved ya since I watched Joe Jackson's Jumpin Jive live recently. Keep on rocking! You're awesome! ☺️
Thank you so much!
Will you be doing any future seminars like this.? Thanks
If they ask me and if I can get my breath back
@tamingthesaxophone ha. Will keep my eyes peeled. Would be great to attend as I often get stuck with my playing. Great work with Lee Allen you've done, he's my biggest influence 👏
Il mondo è cambiato ,sembra in peggio per me .comunque si poteva sognare in qualcosa di positivo ora cosa vuoi sognare i Raper ,mi sento male solo a nominarlo. Che musica fanno ?ciao buona notte
To all the secret agents out there
OMG Yes!! You Blew the Smoke out that Bari!! Bari is the Real Saxophone. So many overtone harmonics in each note.
This is how it should sound - pure Sax
Thank you!
That's what she deserves for being bad and cursing at the kids
One of my favourte sounding saxophones..the 'Two Voices' and o well played. Too may players on YT sound like they are in a hurry to finish. :) No pasion or soul to their playing. LAike theyère not enjoying the intrument. Just playing it because their mother told them to :))
why did you cut off the end of this video? I enjoyed listening to the song with bending notes that you had before. Oh well.
Ha, I don't actually remember that. Must be getting old.
@@tamingthesaxophone Oh Pete I'm sorry! It was another vid you made called Saxophone lessons for beginners. Its right after you teach how to play the E flat note! Thankyou so much! :)
Good music
This is one of the funniest things I’ve seen in a long time.
I hate it when they don't put all of the music on the soundtrack! :<
Man, i Love your way of playing
Are you killing me?
You should review the new Dickerson Resonator Ligature - it is al a resonator - it's new
Обалденное исполнение. Спасибо !!!!!
Wow I've heard a lot of versions over my lifetime - nothing compares.
Absolutely criminal the fact that more music from the stage show "Goddess" didn't make it onto the soundtrack CD. It was written by Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics, for God's sake!
Tastefully fluid.🎵🎵🎶🎶🎶🎷👍👏👏👏👏
I grew up on King Curtis as a kid always wondered what was this setup I know he used Selmer VI Tenor and a berg Larsen metal mouthpiece in his early career. Does anyone know his mouthpiece facing and reeds and set up. ???
we need a clean track for this please pls.
I don't know what you mean?
@@tamingthesaxophone i mean, i hope someone do the remix/cover as a clean track (the dance scene particularly)
I don't know what you mean by clean track @@RandomDreamsPH
Looks like an uncredit track, i mean this is not a song, just musical chores.
I extensively play-tested the bronze (no silver bell) versus the bare brass (no silver bell) @ NAMM 2023 and bought the latter, largely on the strength of the bronze one HAVING "a sound." It leads you into Texas/balls. The brass is perhaps more lyrical. I'm currently favoring getting the bronze 2 voices alto, however. Somehow the bronze on alto is less directional. YOur thoughts?
I bought the bare brass tenor and just play-tested several of the models this weekend. The solid bronze tenor would be a horn that has "a" sound - big, beefy, Texas tenor, but the 2 voices is the same horn with a solid silver bell (it also comes in brass + silver bell). I cannot hit altisimmo G and G# on any of them (and I've been playing for 50 years). Some say having the high F# key helps (I don't like them and it's not on my bare brass). But even with the high F# key, I couldn't get those notes to pop out (no problem with any of the others). Do you have this problem? Any suggestions? I am going to also buy either the two voices or the Solista alto, I like them both.
Can't speak for the tenors, but I had a similar issue with the R&C R1 Jazz sopranos. I bought the silver and gold plated curved soprano they had on display at NAMM 2023. I also have a semi-curved gold plated R1 Jazz soprano. The semi-curved is very free-blowing, the fully curved is much more resistant. I found them to be "mouthpiece sensitive" in the upper register. They tend to respond better with small-medium chamber mouthpieces. Best response was with an old Selmer S80 square chamber I've had for 30+ years. Next best was Beechler 7, then Bari 68. Funny though, I can get up to altissimo D on my old trusty Yamaha 62, pops right out.
@@sespublic505 Hi, I don't know if we met at NAMM or not, I'm the tall white guy who was trying out the tenors. I remember Claudio mentioning that someone bought the soprano on display. I was using my Drake Pete Christleib (small/medium chamber) at NAMM, but I've since bought a Francois Louis Spectruso 9* (I had a 10* for 12 years, wore it out) and it responds better. Still no high G, though. I also have a Yamaha Purple Logo soprano. Altissimo notes pop right out. In 2014, I tried a Keilwerth soprano and I couldn't even get the palm keys. I think it's the large bore on all of these horns. I am currently playing my 1924 Conn New Wonder tenor on the East coast, no high G there, either! I think the harmonic window is just too small. No problems on my Mark VI tenor at all. Do you R&C sopranos have high F# and high G keys? Some say the high F# key allows high G to pop out on all tenors. I hate those keys and none of my horns have them. I actually flew to Springfield, MS to try a bunch of R&C tenors at Palen Music. Some had the high F# key, it didn't help.
This was the best scene in the movie and song I surely wish this was on the soundtrack it’s a shame they only left it in the movie there outfits look like they were made by Versace so elegant
❤
This piece is timeless
Old fashion strip tease music.....
I also play this exercise on French Horn. About 140-160 bpm depending on the key
PROFESSINAL MASTER MUSIC
Love this 1950’s Sax sound. What is it actually classified as?
This is R & B or Rock & Roll
First called "race music", "then R&B" then stolen and called Rock & Roll.
Rhythm & Blues or sax jump .
New Orleans R n B It Don't get much better !!! Lee Allen , Herbert Hardesty & Alvin Tyler are the Tenor saxes in Heavens Second Line ...
This stuff is so AWESOME it makes you want to cry. Allen is so freakin' underrated! Thanks so much for this, Pete Thomas.
Nice video
Creo que ésta es es la mejor versión de Harlem Noctune , genial 👍🏻👍🏻
Hi I can play this on my alto ,but not on my tenor ? When playing the trill with the side E ,plus the other notes, no real note comes out ? Ive been playing many yrs and its a MK6, others cant play it on my horn either with their mouthpiece ? Been into tech and hes happy with the horn,no leaks etc any ideas please ?
Best music Ever
Nota 10!!!!!
Love this isolated idea ONLY SAXOPHONE. That sounds awesome... Thanks for that tone
Love it too...
They sound different to me. However, I do know from your website and the images that one is a metal sax and the other is a plastic sax. It would be a fun test to take, if I didn't know that two saxes were involved. Nice playing, Pete.
I seen this scene used in numerous bits of humor to other subject matter, but as a musician and a woodwind player, Hitler's closing statement of "I'd rather blow my brains out, then after a long pause, "Get me a clarinet" was simply hilarious.
I came across this song some time ago and instantly it became one of my favourite saxophone tunes that I wished I could play. This is pure bliss and excellence. Thank you for posting a transcription. I tried unsuccessfully many times to transcribe myself and play along. I really enjoy being able to now play it properly (not as good as you obviously). Is it possible to have a backing track or could you point me in the direction of what sort of backing is. many many thanks. Russ
Glad you like it! Backing track is available here: tamingthesaxophone.com/product/mid-pdf-mp3
aaah, that was so beautiful. And so saxophonic. Such a perfect instrument for blues. This is the way to play... PLAY.
This is my favorite scene. Love that music 🎶🥰
This is the perfect sound track for the very best of all film~~film noir.
