    All I have for a disc is an ATV pull behind King cutter and I have a sandbag on it for weight. It will be able to cover the seed because I know it will cut at least an inch down. But you didn't describe how deep the initial tilling with the disc should be prior to planting?? And are you speaking of planting soybeans with the corn?

    • @genesiscustomfoodplots
      @genesiscustomfoodplots 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks for the note. With light ATV equipment, it would be pretty difficult to get too deep but it should work out just fine. I would disk it until the soil is decently workable and not too clumpy. I might bump up the seed rate just a bit for depth inconsistency but corn will generally do just fine anywhere from 1 - 2.5" deep. Even deeper in lighter soil. We do plant soybeans with corn and disk it all together, targeting about 1.5" deep. General rule of thumb if you get down the right seed rate, when you are done you should be able to see about 10-15% of the seed right on top. That obviously that seed you see won't grow well, but gives you an indication that the rest will do just fine and is in a good growing zone depth. Thanks for watching!

    • @genesiscustomfoodplots
      @genesiscustomfoodplots หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for watching. As we stated, the drills both have pluses and minuses and we are looking at the whole picture here. Overall, the plugging issue (while annoying if and when it happens), isn’t a common issue unless you are in heavy corn debris. The ease of use, versatility and plantability is much better in the wide variety of conditions we plant in. The improvements to this drill made by PHOutdoors only enhance that. Will be curious to run the new Great Plains stealth line to see how that plants compared to the 3P606NT. Thanks for watching

    I used Plot Dr liquid lime on a 1 acre plot. PH was 5.9 before application. Tested 3 weeks after application and results were 5.8. Tested again 7 weeks after application and the Ph was 5.9. So I tested the soil again after 11 weeks and the PH was 5.9. I applied exactly as directed and the results were poor. I would not suggest using this product for a one year quick fix. AG lime is the way to go. Waste of money and wasted more sending out soil samples to see if it was working. Sorry but a one gallon jug wont fix your soil. Just a bad investment

    • @genesiscustomfoodplots
      @genesiscustomfoodplots หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks Mitch, several thoughts: 1. As stated in the video, most applications are “a couple gallons/acre per season”. You won’t see much effect at the 1 gallon/acre you applied , especially if you have high CEC in clay based soil. High CEC requires higher amounts to have any effect. 2. Clearly, as we said, this is a quick react product and not magic for the long term. We all agree, ag lime is the most effective long term. Liquid is short term to bridge a gap until other products can be effective. As we always say, use the right tool for the right job. 3. We’ve had good success using the right amount for the soil type and have seen good short term pH adjustments. We primarily use the product to treat plots immediately after we clear them to bridge a gap until dry products start to react. Thanks for watching

    I purchased a Muddy Bull Blind over a year ago. I live in Western Canada. Before I purchase the blind I knew the roof needed work and the floor in my opinion was poor quality. I utilized a spay foam inside and outside on the roof and all of a sudden it became solid and not subject to movement, bugs or moisture. The floor was thin and made of ABS. I added 3/4 plywood, glued and screwed it down. I caulked all around inside the building. So far I have not had a problem with moisture getting in. I have noticed the door should be tighter and that can be resolved very quickly. I have had some flies and moths get in and I believe that is the issue. I will give the blind a complete going over to ensure I don't develop issues that you point out in your review. Thanks for the review. I may purchase a 360 in the future. When it comes to tower construction there is nothing better than my welded 2 3/8" pipe stand for strength. My towers are superior to anything on the market.

    In the process now of replacing a "rod" within a Genesis 5 unit. Been a huge ordeal to repair and local dealers aren't used to working on them. Got me second guessing the drill choice. Just saw that GP came out with a stealth pro drill and seems like it may be a bit easier for the average guy to work on and maintain. Any thoughts on it?

    • @genesiscustomfoodplots
      @genesiscustomfoodplots หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Brandon - sorry for the late reply. The PH Outdoors drill is far superior to the Genesis, they have made many improvements. As far as the stealth line, they have scaled it down to make it more compact and easier to handle for sure. I still think the drive and calibration system on the PH drills are superior. We ran the Great Plains a little but have moved on. The productivity of the 8’ PH is far more useful in our business. GP makes an 8’ but the overall cost and transportability for our business just doesn’t make sense.
