We have 3 main concert bands: the freshmen band, the symphonic band and the wind ensemble. Freshmen band is for concert band freshmen, it’s the band i was in this year, symphonic band is for non-freshmen who are not quite good enough for wind ensemble or if there are just too many people on that instrument in wind ensemble then our director makes a decision to put people there. the symphonic band is sort of the “in between” band. and the wind ensemble is for really good people. as of right now my director has told me that i’m going into wind ensemble :) which i’m really happy about because it’s uncommon for sophomores to be in wind ensemble.

@@flootloopsss same with my school!! im currently a sophomore flute in symphonic band but next year im going into wind ensemble. we had to audition with a solo piece and a chromatic scale (with 4 octaves of C😭). ur really good at playing flute and its really nice hearing u play, congrats on wind ensemble :)

Oh my word how can I forget about the video itself your band killed it there and as a flute player myself I think you did terrific. I'm really excited for what's coming later on in life for me cause it seems exciting.

1: thank you sososo much :))) 2: i’ve put little decorations on my flute before, for our christmas concert i had a red and white striped bow for my flute and a little santa hat on my piccolo. and obviously for this concert i had the pink bow. if you go to hobby lobby or michaels you could easily find a roll of ribbon you like and can put it on ur flute or piccolo. for flute hats, they dont really make them on amazon(sometimes tiny hats from amazon will fit on the end of ur flute) but i would recommend finding stuff on etsy. i’m sure there’s a ton other things you could add. like i saw a moustache attachment on amazon once, really thinking abt getting it lol

i honestly don't know lol. when i first started posting videos i really didnt get that many views or comments or likes. and then all of a sudden one of my videos got like 7k views and my channel has become more popular. its honestly just an algorithm thing. im sure your friend will get there eventually :)))

Tyyyyy! I have been looking into buying a gemeinhardt! Nice to see it plays well! Good job switching from flute to piccolo mid song!! I have done it before and it’s hard 😅

i believe in you! just practice a bunch. it never hurts to practice those pieces you haven’t touched yet in class. i always look at pieces ahead of time before we really look at them in class :)

@@flootloopsss the only problem for me is that I'm not in the actual class because they took me out to make room for other classes, but I still do it as an after-school activity and go to practices so I just need to practice in my free time as much as I can.

absolutely!! i hate how much people have gendered everything especially instruments. they’re instruments!! there’s a boy in the flute section in my schools marching band he’s a good friend of mine and a fantastic player. some of the best flautists are men. James Galway is one :)
