I used to get leather sneakers when I was a kid and they always ended up creasing and getting dirty so I just wore fabric ones for the longest time but just bought a pair of white leather ones so now it's time to learn how to properly care for them, thanks for this video!

Good video but would have been better to show cleaning some actually dirty shoes to shoe how to restore them, rather than very mildly dirty shoes.
A lot of your stuff is not allowed on a plane except in a checked bag.

Isn't too harsh to just clean them with solvent and then not condition them after? What about applying Saphir nappa cream after the jason markk cleaner?
The JM product is not harsh at all (it’s almost like soapy water). Conditioning every now and then is definitely not a bad idea !

This is insane. I love a fresh pair of CPs but come on man. This is too much effort haha. Give them a clean now and then. Replace the laces. But really, this is too much.

Thanks a lot! Yes absolutely. Just don’t over do it (spray from a distance, don’t over-wet them, and leave them to dry overnight before wearing them). The rest of the tips in the video should also help. Enjoy !
You never polish them? I use a COLORLESS WAX
JM foam or normal soap water is better for CP shoes?

@@CharbelSalemSLA Thanks for answering, I really do appreciate it. However after re-watching it 2x more times, I still couldnt find any mention of "protective spray" (and/or any lotions). So I assume you just dont use it? What I found was: Quick wipes, Soft Brush (I assume standard from J&M), deep clean lotion, microfibre towel, Shoehorn,....
I only use it once I deep clean. The same brand offers a good repellent solution. The content is more for day to day care.

One major thing is missing - the conditioning of a leather! You can't just wipe them and wash the soles, you have to condition the leather as it will become dry over the course of time.. So what to use on a white pair of sneakers? Some Saphir white cream?

Hello Antoine, go for 2 sizes down compared to nikes. So if you are 46 in Nike go for 44 for both, boss and common projects

No need of fancy soap. Dishwasher soap is enough. And don’t use wipes, that is for babies butts. Use a proper leather conditioner from a reputable shoe care company like Saphir. Furthmore use shoes trees.
This is bad advice. Dishwasher is harsh and should never be used on premium leather. These are special wipes. They are alcohol free and meant to clean and have a dual purpose as shown in the video. They are not the same ones you wipe your baby’s bum with. Leather conditioner can be helpful definitely. And you mentioning shoe trees means you haven’t watched the video in full ;)
just spent close to $2400 on two pair of sneakers from Kiton and Ermenegildo Zegna and want them to last a while... this was helpful..

Should we apply a waterproofer before wearing them?
As soon as you finish cleaning them, apply the repel and leave it on to dry for 12-24h before wearing them. Don’t apply the repel excessively

a dozen videos on yt and not a single one showing how to clean the inside of the shoes. Style over substance...
If you follow the tips in this video, you wouldn’t need to clean them from the inside ;). If you find that they are dirty from the inside, it’s probably a hygiene issue (e.g., wearing the same socks from the day before, or not wearing socks at all). Oh and style > substance.
@@CharbelSalemSLA I do wear socks with my shoes but performance socks always.. super breathable mesh-like fabric... so you think that's the problem?
also, do you have a clue on how to clean the inside and what products might be suitable for that? I don't wanna damage the fabric nor the glue. can I run a high pressure water jet through it... I have white leather addidas sneakers
@@dn-bayou try the following tips: 1) don’t wear them everyday. 2) take the off as soon as you finish a workout or back home. I would use wet wipes with no alcohol to wipe them from the inside and then make sure they are given enough time to dry. Don’t blast water inside and don’t place them in the washing machine

How can I tie the laces like this, can you explain or make a video?
Hey Alan, when you’re a the top instead of tying the laces just insert them in the parallel hole and tuck them inside the shoe in a comfortable manner. If you’re talking about the lacing method from the bottom up, these sneakers come laced like this.
Or don't buy something you cannot afford to care.
A separate point/topic. And in any case, shoe trees last forever, and the cleaning kit can be used on suede, fly knit, and leather and also has excellent shelf life. Every household should have these. And lastly on affordability, I can make a great case proving to you that by not caring for your shoes, you end up spending more on new ones than on cleaning solutions ;)
The lacing method is NOTHING NEW. We were doing that in the 80's
