I dont get it, if my social media game was good, i would not wanna sign up with labels in the first place, like i'd release my music independent. How ironic... Great info though. Thanks.
@@jooheonshoneybal why would you not ? Labels have way more outreach potential, experience in pitching and credibility. Unless you’ve already reached celebrity status. Curious
I think this video together with some of Dan Woralls stuff if very good learning material for newer producers, good job :) A hard-clipper pre-limiting can give a more stable sound going into the limiter, resulting in a more transparent result. If you want to be a nerd you can get even cleaner my manually dipping individual sample points within software like RX, before using a clipper in your session. Using the look-ahead in the limiter really has no downsides (in a mastering session), crank that shit up to help the limiting be more transparent. Also be mindful of attack and release in mastering, it has a great impact on how much distortion you're getting when limiting this much. Getting the timing right is also quite important for low-end, so saying it just needs to be fast all-around isn't the right state of mind imo. Sometimes having a slower attack can give you a much cleaner low-end in limiting. You can gain some more loudness using compressors before clipping and limiting, having the compressor react just the mid-range of your signal. You can achieve this in most plugins with internal side-chain, and limiting the low-end the compressor sees. You wanna go for a quick release and slower attack so it pulls up stuff after the transients for more detail. If the compressor clearly start's to pump, it's way to much. This is just to add perceived loudness to the track, usually just a couple of dB is more than enough. Again, use look-ahead if available. Saturation after this stage can get you another .5dB, maybe more. Again you don't want to overdo this, it's about a subtle effect. If stuff audibly distorts it's too much. Doing this extra compression and saturation usually smooths out the audio, which eases up the work on your clipper, which eases up the work on your limiter, which now can go louder, cleaner. I'm not sure if it would've worked in this mix, but the kick that was troublesome later one, you could've tried to touch with an automated EQ just for that section. If you did try this in your video I'm sorry I missed it, I started skipping more towards the end. Good stuff man thanks for taking the time .
Thank you for your in-depth reply!
@ top dankjewel 🙏🏻
Awesome 🎉
Nice masterclass! One question about the mono lead en mono screesh! Are you put the mono layers to a different channel? And route them to the same melody bus where the stereo leads and screesher are going?
Yes different channel with honestly only some EQ and maybe distortion to sharpen it up. But leading it back to the stereo leads defeats the whole purpose. So don't do that.
You don’t need extra plugin to see LUFS, you see in L2 limiter as well, just click right lower corner where you see -32db or -48db and change to Loudness!! Voilaa! 🫡
Great Video again! I maybe have a secret sauce for you Neroz, maybe you are already aware of it. If you still do mastering for cliënts or so?
Spill the sauce!
Don't Send my Ex Duckpics after breaking up lol I'd say
Wheeejooooow
love your videos man. I think the peak at the end could be because he splitted the kick in punch and tail and duplicated the tail by accident.
Neroz = The Hardstyle Professor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🤲
Great content man. Would you do a masterclass about mixing all stems before the master ? Didn't find it on the website. Thxxx
Most producers in our génre, no let's say in EDM, are doing the mixdown on the go. For instance, you layer 2 or 3 leads, you also add compression, distortion reverb and delay for instance. With that, also the balancing in most cases becomes a during the process thingy. So most things are already done whenever the track is ready. Yes, you want a final check with fresh ears but most of the mixing process is already done at that time.
hey i notice my short terms and intergrated lufs have a big difference- what is the reason for this?
volume changes. low and high volume
@@alexlim6155 actually, it’s called Dynamic Range
can you make more tutorials about screeches
Yes sir!
ENG: A (soft) clipper can definitely be useful for reducing peaks before the limiter kicks in. This ensures the limiter doesn’t have to work as hard and maintains more transparency. However, I sometimes choose not to use a clipper because I want to preserve the dynamics of the mix or because the peaks are already well under control in the mix itself. It depends on the situation and the style of the track. Using two Pro-L2 limiters with less gain reduction per unit can indeed result in a more transparent master, as they each have to work less. Still, I sometimes use only one limiter because it keeps the workflow simpler, and in many cases, the end result doesn’t noticeably differ. If the limiter has to work too hard (e.g., with a 15dB boost), I do consider splitting the gain reduction, depending on what sounds best for the track. In short: This is not THE way to do it; I’m just explaining the steps I take, hoping someone can learn from them.
@ thanks voor je uitgebreide reactie! Goede overwegingen inderdaad 🤝🏻
Amazing explanation! Be aware that some plugins can cause latency (eg. linear phase mode of Fabfilter Pro-Q) during the process. I prefer to export the master and do the volume + stereo automations in a new project, because otherwise it will mess up the drop if there's latency.
Absolutely! That's why you should work with a mastering template :)
Cool vid, New subscriber Here🙌🏻. Im not totally get what youre doing with the stereo separation automation? Is it to get more with in the drop?
Visualize this: A track has a lot of stereo field, right before the drop everything squeezes together. Visualize a tunnel that keeps getting smaller and at the end of the tunnel, everything opens up!
@ Okey, Cool trick🙂
For the first time in my years of watching you tube, when you asked me to sub and hit notifications. I did it. 😊

Great advisory! The social media activity however, remains counter-intuitive
Well presented!

You’ve got this!
@@nerozproductions Your Advanced program did pigue my interest. My biggest problem is finishing music. I'm in my 30s and i do not have the ambition to become a big dj, but i have plenty of interesting snippets and semi finished tracks that i just want to work out and share for the potential enjoyment of others. Does your course tackle these kind of issues too? If not, this might be a cool thing to make a video about too. The perfectionism/procrastination loop can be such a hard one. Its hard to finish stuff you not fully stand behind. But i know its a necessity in order to become actually good at it. haha

Unpopular opinion maybe, but a tutorial on mixing the bassline into the final melody would be mad! I consistently struggle to get that balance and crunchy sound mixed properly. Easily my weakest element when making melodies, so I’d really appreciate a bit of insight!
