Riding on the Vale of Rheidol
A trip on the Vale of Rheidol Railway (Rheilffordd Cwm Rheidol) in mid-Wales, in September.
The railway runs between Aberystwyth and Devil's Bridge, a distance of 18.9 kilometres, following the River Rheidol, hence the name. It is built to a narrow gauge, and until 1989 was operated by British Railways (for historic reasons: it had previously been owned by Cambrian Railways, who were absorbed into the Great Western, and so on).

Hampton Court, by the River Thames west of London, was built in 1514 on a site owned by the Knights of St John. Its first owner was Thomas Wolsey, a trusted adviser to King Henry the Eighth and sometimes described as a 'second king.' Wolsey fell from favour with the King and in 1529 passed the palace to him. In the late 17th century the palace became the residence of Queen Mary II and King Will...

Ross on Wye is a market town in Herefordshire, England. Its name is from the Welsh 'Rhosan' meaning a headland, as the town is on a hill overlooking the river Wye. Just discovered my mother's side of the family originated here, at least as far back as ive traced so far. My 6x GG's moved from cricklade to broughshane n. Ireland and their daughter then moved to south Carolina. I now live in northwest Florida. What a beautiful place, and its fascinating to see buildings still standing that they would have known.

Exploring Wolverhampton through your lens was like taking a step back in time and appreciating its rich history. 🏰 The blend of 19th-century industrial growth and a thousand years of heritage is truly fascinating.
