Hello there my friend. Yes I do as the one on my Rolleiflex is not working anymore 👌🏽😎

I would also mention with regards to speed the flatbed scanner automates multiple negatives or transparencies. You set up multiples by highlighting each slide or negative you want scanned then press scan, then walk away for the next 30 minutes. I have scanned numerous slides this way on my Epson D750 and the Epson software does a decent job with negative conversions too.
Hey William. You are right, that’s a very good point. Thanks for sharing part of your work flow!
@@ArmandoStreets Also Epson's restoration software for old faded photo prints works too.
Amazing results, magical!!!
I’m happy you liked them. Thanks for watching!
that horrible old man in the hot sausage he is so mean but his hot dogs are good 🌭
Hahaha wow I didn’t know that but at least the hot dogs are good 😅
@ lol
As a curiosity, the Bellini C41 kit is interesting, because it is based on C41 RANP, the process most often used in minilabs. It has much shorter times for bleaching and fixing, and it uses a superflo type final wash instead of water. This enables using minilabs without a connection to running water.
Wow I didn’t know that. Thanks for sharing my friend. It is nice to have you here!
Thanks for this video.
Always my pleasure. I’m happy you enjoyed 😎
Keep going I like yours movies. Good job 👍
Thank you so much for the encouraging words. Means a lot! 📷🎞️
We have very similar setups for camera and scanning. The C-220 is a great camera. Nice video!
Oh that’s really cool… I love my C220 very much…super sharp lens!
Enjoyed your video very much. Thank you for sharing your photos, I bordered between loving some and really liking others. That's a good thing, but they were all great. Thank you so, much. God Bless. Rogeer
Hey Roger…thank you…I’m happy you enjoyed the video and the photos!
Armando, thank you for writing. It is good to hear from someone. At times I wish I could have tagged along with you at times. Keep doing what you love Armando and God Bless you. Roger
Great video. I love Tri x. Still love diafine for a classic look. You’ve earned a new subscriber.
Thank you Jose…it is nice to have you here. I too love TriX. If you would like to see other film comparison let me know which one you are interested in and I might make a video about it 😎
I photograph and scan as a hobbyist / enthusiast. Micro / Macro is part of my work. So a macro Bellows and copy down is always up. I’m simply dismounting a body to use somewhere else. It is faster, but is it better quality? Idk yet. Still comparing. But it looks nice. Nikon D850 w/ Nikkor 60/2.8D macro. The battery of a large cop stand conserve other uses throughout. As far as lights. The exact same copy stand lights that just stay there. Or any TTL flash
That sounds like a nice scanning set up…thanks for sharing your work flow with us
A couple of reasons I chose a Pentax DSLR are the convenience and cost savings of not having to always develop film, but moreso for the simple, inexpensive metal adapter that lets me use any of the billions of lenses designed for Pentax cameras all the way back through the M42 screw mount version on hoth my digital and my MX. I also prefer the older glass on my DSLR because they give my digital photos that soft film like quality that the human eye naturally sees.
That sound great Rae…combining the boat of both eras. Thanks for sharing part of your workflow with us. It is nice to have you here!
I have 5x7" glass plates/slides. Which flatbed scanner would you recommend?
Hello Clint thanks for watching. I have no experience on scanning glass plates but let me check with some friends and I will come back to you 😎
Ever since DSLR "scanning" became a thing, I've always thought it was the most rediculours and moronic nuance to happen to photography. Dedicated 35mm scanner (or a flat bed scanner which is a compromise IMO) is by far the more superior method of scanning at home. I could talk for hours about it. I might do a video myself haha.
Both methods have advantages and disadvantages and most recently I have obtained better results using my digital camera. But that applies for my particular set up. The main reason I gave up on flat bed scanning a while ago was because of the annoying amount of dust I was getting on the scans coming from manipulating the negative too much in order to put it inside the scanner. It would be nice to see your take on the topic on your own video 😎
@@ArmandoStreets I use a dedicated 35mm scanner. Yeah, theres some dust on the photos sometimes but PS is goot at removing it. My scanner just sits on my desk, it's ready to rock at any time and so even if all I want to do it scan a single frame, there's no faff. To me, the most moronic thing about using a camera to take a picture of a photo taken with another camera (🤦♂) is that you're introducing more error. I use the best lenses I can afford so that my photos have as little distortion, as little chromatic aberration, as little noise and as much colour and contrast as possible but there'll still be some imperfections. Those imperfections will be amplified with the macro lense in your DSLR setup and your macro lens will introduce it's own imperfections, barrel distortion and vignetting more than anything. There'll be light collected by the lens that hasn't come off the negative you're "scanning" as there's light bouncing around the room. What colour is that light? How is it polorised? Is it flarring off the macro lens? Is it introducing a colour or contrast shift to your scan? Most likely. I look upon DSLR scanning in the same way as I look upon using your phone camera to take a "screen shot" of someone else's phone or a PC monitor. Fine if you simply want to make a record of something but moronic if your intention is to make the best possible copy and to presever as much detail as possible. I mean, just try to repeat it and get the same result twice. An actual scanner has fixed perameters into each of its components, it's a completely controled environment for negative and for the scanning process, a miniature lab. Everything in consistent and predictable. It's quality, controled!
@TheDisruptiveTH-camr A dedicated 35mm scanner is probably the best option but must people cannot afford it. I understand your points about DSLR scanning and they are valid. Everything depends on the results the film photographer wants to get. Thank for sharing your thoughts and adding value to the conversation. I hope to see you around the channel again 😎🎞️
@@ArmandoStreets I use a Plustek 7400. It cost me only £290 around 2009 so still less than one of those flat bed scanners in your video even if you adjust for inflation. Yes, I'll stick around bud =)
@TheDisruptiveTH-camr oh ok…I thought you were talking about a lab grade scanner. I have heard good things about the Plustek scanners, hopefully I can try them someday.
what kind of tank is that you’re using to develop?
Hello there fellow photographer. It is a rotation tank called Jobo CPE2
What a nice video ❤ Out with wife : Sweet sharing together ❤ Great video ☺
Thank you Chris I’m really happy you liked it! 😎
Flatbed isn't one of the main methods. Those would be a dedicated film scanner like Plustek 8300 or Prime Film XA vs camera scanning. I've an Epson V550 (same as V600 - digital ICE) and flatbed scanner sucks for 35mm. It does ok for 120.
Thanks for watching!
I also love developing film, I love it so much that I spent over a month producing a three part youtube short series showing my process. I just released the finale in my 3 part youtube short series on developing film at home. It was a lot of work, yet alot of fun to produce, hope you have as much fun watching as I did making it! Happy Snapping!
That’s very cool 😎
I just ordered a Pentax spotmatic for its lens, so after the inevitable arista test roll it’ll probably end up with a roll of phoenix
Awesome….you will not be disappointed 😎
Thanks for this man. I've been looking for fomapan results since I mainly use kentmere 400 to push film.
Awesome I’m happy the it was helpful to you 😎
Subbed! Reel dawgies dev at home! I just posted a teaser for the finale in my three part youtube shorts series on developing film at home. I don't think the shots I developed compare to the nice street scenes you got man. But another day another reel. Keep it up I look forward to catching you on my scroll. Oh and btw be careful with that squeegee. It can wreck a weak emulsion
Thank you Nick…and you are right about that squeegee…I learned it the hard way 🥲
@@ArmandoStreets Dang! Hopefully it added character to the shots lol🤣
I learned the hard way too. It was a room temp roll of 10 year expired hp5. Wiped away half the emulsion, but it looked pretty sick. I just used one of the shots in my vid titled "film is for losers" so hopefully you can salvage yours too
Have you noticed any issues with the focus not being perfectly aligned when you have a lens set to infinity? I have tried two different lenses and two different bodies and been seeing that issue on both. Just curious if anyone else has and if it's going to be an issue?
Hello there Kevin. Wow…No I have not experienced that problem with the MX and I have two of them as well 🤔
@@ArmandoStreets Ok, thanks for the reply. If anyone has experienced please let me know and if theres a fix. thanks
I really appreciate you sharing this with us. The therapeutic power of photography, or any other hobby, to help us get through difficult times, emotional distress and heal ourselves is incredible. My story with street photography is pretty similar to yours. I immigrated from Colombia to Canada three years ago and, despite many migration perks, I’ve experienced some difficulties and faced hard feelings such as frustration and loneliness. That’s why I started pursuing an older photography passion I had during my university years: film photography. I found an old Olympus Trip 35 in a flea market a couple of years ago and started taking pictures now and then, going on photo walks, exploring the city and experimenting with different films and filters. Later, I added some new film cameras to my collection (looking for a Ricoh 500G is how I found you and this video), took more pictures around Canada and have been feeling better and better every day. Now, I’m learning how to develop at home and thinking how can I build a strong street film photography enthusiasts community in my city and, why not, the world.
Hello Santiago. Thank you so much for sharing your journey of healing through photography too and I’m very happy you found that Olympus Trip 35. Let me know if you need some help on developing your film at home and I hope you manage to grow a film community at you place. Let’s keep in touch. Gracias y un abrazo!
One of my favourite analog cameras!
Mine too my friend 😎👌🏽
I quite liked the muted look. I think there is a role for this film ( pun unintended) in documentary photography.
That’s true my friend this film would be quite suitable for those kind of shots!
Bizarre. In 1992 many of us were using Fujichrome Velvia, the most clear and punchy 35mm film just about ever. Nice video though - but I would use any colour film before that Colour 92. Is it meant to remind us of terrible processing at Snappy Snaps? Nice video though - thanks :)
Hahahaha your comment made me laugh my friend….I’m happy you liked the video anyways…that’s a good sign hahahaha
@@ArmandoStreets an excellent video. Subscribed! :)
@@swannmannbaggywaggyawesome…nice to have you here my friend 😎🙏🏽
That film seems unresponsive to colour.
Yes…not too saturated my friend
Back to the gym! I'm actually not a fan of Color 92, mostly because the tones and temp are easy to achieve in post on any less expensive color stock. I really treat Lightroom the same as one would have used the darkroom in the past, making color adjustments, dodging and burning as desired, on all my film scans. I would say Color 92 might be useful for anyone who avoids or disapproves of the post process altogether.
Hello Brennen….nice that’s a cool approach to obtain similar results in a cost effective way 👌🏽
This is very good, but ilfosol wouldn't be my developer of choice pafticularly with HP5 Plus. Try the HP5 plus @ iso 250 in stock solution of Perceptol. Beautiful tonality and almost as fine grained as an FP4 Plus.
Cool…I will definitely try that. Thanks for the suggestion my friend.
Why not process with ECN-2 at home and avoid the lab fees?
Hello there. If you shoot mainly ECN2 then that makes complete sense. But if you shoot mainly c41, it is nice to know how this chemistry affects a film designed for ECN2 😎
Man TH-cam is strange. I still havent found a video that considers the most expensive aspect: time. The real question is: what is the fastest option that gives me the best quality with minimal effort? All the time you spend scanning is not spent doing something else. The cost of the gear is irrelevant if you have 60 years, or more, of negatives to scan.
That’s also a very good point to consider. You can check out another video I published after this one where I share the reasons why I actually changed to digital camera scanning, time was one of them 😉. Thanks for sharing your view and for watching my channel
Excellent video and the Delta 3200 shots are really cool
Thank you my good friend I’m happy that you liked it and enjoyed the images ☺️😎
I'm very curious as to how the 400 ISO turned out, when you get the chance to publish that video!
Hello there Hanna…I’m curious too. I will be putting together that video soon so stay tuned ☺️
LoL I am actually from Kathmandu. The place mentioned in the song.

Hahahah thanks for the compliment Genaro 😎☺️
I really liked your video and street photo and camera philosophy. I have a Rolleiflex too, such beautiful and capable cameras. Inspiring, thanks
Rolleiflex cameras are just amazing….I’m happy you enjoyed the video 😎📸
For 35mm Ultramax and for 120 some Ektar 100
Fantastic choices…I have never tried Ektar before…I will give it a go 😎👌🏽
@ArmandoStreets I will be using it with pre-war Rolleiflex. Expecting interesting results. Can't wait for summer and more light, though.
Wow that sounds cool…I’m also looking forward to the sunny days ahead.

Hello there Michael. Yes Alfie Cameras have been developing this camera for a few years now but is finally ready 👌🏽😎

Wow I loved this video. My story as being a dad with a 25 year old daughter 🥰 Now I´m a Leica M6 man since 1996. Had the MX - it disappeared - just bought a MX for her birthday. This video contained exactly my feeling with my old trusty MX. Bumped through most of the world. Thanks so much ❤
Hello Jasper I’m so happy to hear that. This is how photography connects us all. I hope your daughter enjoys the MX and that she creates memories with it like we did 😊
I had to tell my daughter what was coming. So no surprise gift. Her response was: Jubii then we go out at play with our cameras. My M6 and her MX. Can´t wait. We still got our iPhones and Spotify. She is buying LP´s and aware of listening to a whole album - as it was meant to be heard. Both ways are great. Happy that she has got the interrest in both worlds - as I have. She saw your video - made her even happier 😍 That was sooo important for a 62 years old dad ❤@@ArmandoStreets
PS Where are you from ? Love your accent and think back to Cuba and Fidel Castros two last speeches at 1. of may and a lot of beautiful pictures of people......The thought because you sound southamerican :-) I´m from Denmark.
@@wvideoyahoodk Hey Jasper you have no idea how happy it makes me that you could share that special moment with your daughter thanks to this video. I hope you guys can have many more moments together sharing both analogue and digital worlds. I’m originally from Venezuela. I’m happy to have you guys here in the channel 😎🙏🏽📷
One of the main advantages that smaller formats are supposed to have and NEED to have to keep up with competition, is super bright fast lenses, since they're cheaper and technically more possible to design for smaller formats. A large format lens at 5.6 is "Fast" for that, it's about as well as they can do affordably. Medium format, 2.8 is "Fast", 35mm, 1.4 is about the equivalent. half frame needs to have lenses around 1.1 to compete at a serious level (being able to use lower ISO to combat the grain, being able to get similar depth of field, etc), or at most like f/2 even if embracing many shortcomings. F/8 is bonkers. No excuse for an F/8 lens on a several hundred dollar half frame camera, that's SO cheap-ed out/ripoff.
Hello Gavin thanks for sharing. I agree with you…would love to see wider lenses in a later iteration of this camera.
Interesting video again. 👍 If I had extra money laying around maybe I might buy their Premium model. But as Pentax announced their upcoming half-frame compact I'm saving my pennies for that. I would suggest you to try higher ISO film with Alfie camera. Maybe even ISO 1600. Of course there will be lots of grain in pictures but then again you could use faster shutterspeeds. And it would give you some range to take pictures in indoors as well.
Hello there and thanks for watching. Yes the Pentax looks like is going to be a cool option. Good advice, I will try a higher ISO film next time for sure 😎
Snaps closer to the horizon line make stronger images.
😎😎👍🏽👍🏽
I have some problems with TMJ, it has been chronic and has gotten in the way of enjoying life for me. Luckily I have an appliance from my dentist that helps and I'm in way less pain now. I've found photography allows me to concentrate less on how I'm feeling on the inside and focus more on the beauty you can find in the outside world. Thank you for sharing your story, it's encouraging to hear someone else coped with chronic pain with the help of photography 🙏
Hi there my friend. Thanks for sharing your experience too….I have been there and luckily we have multiple tools available to make things a bit better and reduce the discomfort. I’m happy you’re here ☺️🙏🏽
With all these cameras you can pre focus and open up the front of viewfinder and look through the back for correct orientation or even get a prism finder if that's what you want.
Hey there… thank you so much…great advice 😎
