What setup do you use for your multiple camera + telemetry collection?
@@TiemSong Hey! I use the RaceChrono pro app on my phone. It records video and telemetry on my phone that's mounted on the window. I've also paired it with a RaceBox mini GPS receiver, and an OBDLink MX+ to get my pedal inputs and other channels. I basically copied the setup from here th-cam.com/video/jFo6eSj_rzA/w-d-xo.html. I'm seperately using a GoPro on a mount that attaches to the passenger headrest stalk and syncing the two views with video editing before rendering the telemetry with RaceRender.
@@denniscfeng Thanks! That's a lot to digest. For the GoPro mount, which headrest stalk do you like? Also, did you buy or make your race numbers? Sorry for the numerous questions; starting prep for track days.
@@TiemSong no worries! FWIW I got started without the Racebox and obd link, I just used the app by itself on the windshield phone mount and it was good enough to track laptimes using the phone's GPS. For the headrest mount I just picked a random one on Amazon a.co/d/fX5VUmo. For the track numbers SpeedSF sells them at the track day if you don't want to use tape.

Nice driving for your first time there! So how did you like Thunderhill compared to Laguna and Sonoma?
I think the fact that there are many fact corners you need to throw your car into (and in most cases over a crest!) makes it easily the hardest track I've been to out of the three 😓. I'll definitely need to come back a couple of times to really learn how to push around here.
@@denniscfeng Yeah, totally agree with that. The other thing that I think makes it hard is that there are very few visual references which makes it hard to judge braking and turn-in points.
Nothing bad ever happens after thinking, "I'll push just a little harder next time."
Worst thing I ever did at the track was have Harry lap timer on my phone in plain sight! Totally distracted me, ended up crashing my S2000 Do it afterwards from the video if necessary ✌🏼 Also kudos to that great save!!😊
The hardest part of catching a spin is knowing when to start turning back the other way before it catches and throws you head on into the tire barrier. Well done.

That save is far more precious than a stinking lap time.
Not sure if the rules are different there, but you need to slow down after taking the checkered flag. You shouldn't have been racing past that. Normally you start your cool down after the checkered flag and you potentially could have came up on some slow moving cars that were actually following the rules. Dangerous sitation, not smart.

Yeah, there were quite a lot of slaloms. The surface was also pretty dusty since it hadn't been used for anything like this in a long time, so at least that made it interesting 😅

There almost certainly are! I was just there for fun, but if you check out my friend's channel @alex_tanaka he has videos of him racing in ROK Sonoma. That's the only one I know of but I'm sure you can find any other regional competition easily .
