Hey Charlie , I have a dumb question but hoping u can help .. been playing guitar for a while and can’t seem to understand this .. I have an epiphone acoustic guitar .. My D major chord always sounds off to my ear .. I always tune in standard tuning and I check it everytime I play .. I was playing before and when I played a D chord again it sounded high so I tried to check the tuning a different way .. my open B string is saying it’s perfectly in tune but when I fretted 1 (B) it instantly went high as I was checking it with the tuner .. when I fretted 3 (B) rather than coming up as a D it’s registering D# which I guess is why it sounds so off .. I went back and played open B again and it’s perfectly in tune .. you ever seen this before ?? I’ve had the guitar professionally set up 2-3 times and it’s still the same .. any thoughts ?? Thank you !
