Fun fact: when I read this story out loud, I imagined Crab sounding like Squidward due to his nose shape, also fantastic story as always & Mechanical Shed's cover illustration also looks spectacular

The title reminds me one line from the CoH2 British Heavy Tank Commander.

Crab’s face looks so funny. Btw I like seeing the My First Thomas style you gave this artwork.
It's so wonderful to hear a story where a visiting steam engine takes the role of the snooty antagonist without a BR design or a diesel in sight. Furthermore, said engine being one that was common on the LMS and a Mogul. A perfect steam era dynamic for James.
The funny thing is that James was a rejected experimental modification of an 0-6-0, while Crab is a member of a highly innovative and successful class. James is actually the underdog here, and comes out on top by... well would you look at that, I never thought I'd see the day... superior work ethic and strength of character.

This is a good one to start the year with. It's so rare seeing stories about, or even an acknowledgement of the visiting engines, unless it's those early loaned Middleton/Dalby ones.
Crab? You named the visiting engine Crab? That’s a silly name for a big, dignified engine!
That's what I thought too. That big red visiting engine sure is one "crabby" fella! Get it? 😆🦀 I wonder how Crab would feel if he ever got a crab pinching on his big nose when he's at the harbour. I bet James would find that very funny.
Crab is a nickname for the LMS Horwich Mogul, which is what the visiting engine is based on, for there appearance in there angled cylinders. When you see one moving down the line, it’s like they’re scuttling like a Crab. That’s where the nickname comes from. For the ones who aren’t familiar with the this locomotive class, the name’s appropriate and suitable.

There's so many stories where Jame's the foil, I'm so happy to see the stories where James is triumphant!
Brilliant story, man! The way you set up Crab's pride and eventual downfall with the donkey mix-up was hilarious. James's professional handling of the situation and the perfect ironic ending were masterfully done. The moral lesson about humility came through naturally, and the ending where James gets the last word was so satisfying. Keep up the fantastic work!
Crab
This is a brilliant story! It’s nice seeing another mogul that is more boastful than James. Crab is certainly crabby about goods work. Also where is the Horse Race station located at? Is it on the strange loop line or on the mainline?
