Not shocking at all because this is how Keatts has built his teams. You can’t say “well this team is built to press, play small, etc” and stop there. Keatts has seen that his formula has failed for one reason or another. Maybe the problem is that he ought to build a team capable of executing the type of gameplan that they did down the stretch last year.

This press conference is much better with a more knowledgeable coach than the press conference Saturday.

Why isn’t McNeil playing? Isn’t he supposed to be a good shooter.

The same thing as it has been every year since KK has been coach. Can’t shoot , rebound, play defense, but other than that they are pretty good. Enough with this experiment, Keatts has got to go after the season. There is no reason for N.C. State to be so bad in basketball.

Not counting on another 5-games in 5-days performance this year, so I'll go ahead and say this season is O-V-E-R. And for the first time in my NC State fandom, that's ok.

The usual bb season from the high school bb coach. One surprising year of luck isn't going to change anything about NC state bb. BB is like NC state football both programs being coached by high school coaches.

One hot run from last year is not going to make up for consistently poor performances from KK’s run as coach at N.C. State. His style of play simply doesn’t work at this level of basketball. Enough already!!!

I disagree with Michael that this is "all driven by inability to win on field", this is based on $$ like it is in even traditionally winning programs. Even players that re-sign with collectives decide to leave. There needs to be limits on this current madness or college football is not watchable. I'll watch on Sunday 👀

Cooley did have two crucial interceptions in the 4th QTR only thing we had to do was covert and move the chains and we’ve would’ve won I can’t blame him for being frustrated

I agree with James. There is definitely coaching discord in this pgm. No rhyme or reason on offense, nonsensical personnel decisions. No control over players, bad body language.... No chemistry amongst the staff. They are all on different pages and it all falls on Dave Im afraid

Man I love CJ but you cant coddle him. You can keep Roper and still hire an outside OC with a good track record as an OC. Roper has stunk it up as an OC. Its a horrible move by Dave imo

The coaching staff has not gotten the most out of the offense since Eli Drinkwitz left at the end of 2018. More creativity is needed to get the ball to playmakers.

NC State was out played. Some controversial calls fell in favor of state. ECU kept their composure. ECU’s defense swarmed States offense and frankly frazzled State’s QB. ECU’s QB out played State’s expectations and seemed to have his way with the State DL. ECU has something cooking in G-ville ? See what the next cpl seasons brings

Honestly, I think it starts with Dave Doeren and, for some reason, the perception that NC State needs to downplay ECU as a rival. Sure, ECU isn’t on the same level as UNC in terms of historical significance, but to UNC, NC State isn’t Duke either. Games matter, and winning matters. From the beginning, de-emphasizing a game or opponent isn’t the right approach. Every game matters!

Hollywood Smothers is a star, but won't be for long on this team. C.J. Bailey is a potential star but not as it is now. Where is our former star K.C.? State is in a really bad place and Doeren was just signed a 5 yr extension. Whoaaa... I suggested they'd likely finish 5 and 7 regular season. Well 6 and 7 after postseason play -- close. News flash. There is not the talent separation that state would like to believe there is. Typically G5 are able to get good athletes. The difference in talent shows up in the big men. State had no one on their defensive line over 300 pounds. ECU had five seniors on their defensive line. The right side of NC State offensive line had their first start in this game. Raja Harris runs a 4.5 forty and is considered a power back. You’ll notice in his 86 yard run. He was losing states defensive backs. However, there was one person catching up. A 6‘3“ 235 pound ECU tight end that was third on the depth chart. Granted ECU has four tight ends that rotate in and play a lot. State, you don’t have the athletes you think you have. Please rewatch the run. It was the fifth year seniors career long.

Life long ECU Pirate fan here. We went to the game and it was a blast. We absolutely loved seeing our Pirates win. NC State lost and by the looks of it, now has a losing record for the season. What a great game. There was never any doubt that we were going to win. NC State im sure had a long trip back to Raleigh. Good Luck to the pack. Maybe next year y'all will make it to the toilet bowl! State fans really live in La La Land. You think Wolfpack football is (or should be) a power when they are at best a mid-level or worse ACC team and have always been so. During the ACC's continuous expansion from seven teams to seventeen the Wolfpack has been pushed further down in the pecking order. ECU has played State 33 times. Only five of these games have been played in Greenville with an additional four on neutral sites. The remaining twenty-four games were played on your home field in Raleigh. State only leads the series nineteen to fourteen. This is against a football program you look down your nose at. State has a huge financial advantage because of conference affiliation. State has good facilities, and has a large, loyal, but whiney fan base. You say your biggest rival is UNC. That's not what UNC says. Yes, ECU loves beating you guys and the more you deny our existence the more we like to beat you. May the games continue. See you next year in Raleigh.
