Thank you... TS1 base, then acrylic browns in places.. hairspray over the top, then the top coat of colour. Take a toothbrush and scrub away, this gives the patina look.👍🏼

Looking great and great use of space! Boy, great prices on the cement ingredients you got! Here, 3.8l of bonding adhesive $65 cdn, $18 cdn for the concrete! YIKES!

@@theadventuresoflario Yeah. I think our polite Canadian demeanor is getting us screwed when it comes to ridiculous pricing. And buying any of the cool boutique 1/24th parts from the US is just eye-wateringly prohibitive.
@@wingnutbert9685 that sucks.... Must admit since finding the hobby again after a good few years away, alot of my parts come from AliExpress, most of the time the shipping is quicker than UK mail. I am pretty fortunate though as I have a superb model shop less than 3 miles from where I live....
Using hairspray might be a concern, as it's not waterproof. Maybe clear spray paint or watered down water proof white glue might be something to try, if the hairspray gives you future grief.

When you said plaster cloth, I cringed. But then you said post-crete and saved it! LOL! Glad you found Reactive Terrain. Amazing course and their use of crete over plaster is the gold standard. Plaster cloth and plaster looks so terrible, usually. And looks worse after a while crawling and tumbling. A nice course you've got there. In the process of slowly clearing my 'barn' to set up a course for 1/24th (I like the smaller size of the SCX24 scale). I'll check out the rest of your build vid's for sure! Thanks! Bert the Weldor

@@theadventuresoflario Great guys over there. Had some good back and forths with them on ideas. I'm planning on old bed sheets for the cement cloth. And doing the hills, etc in separate pieces so I can rearrange when I get board of a lay-out. I guess you could do a combo road trip vid/ RC crawling visit to see Reactive Terrain! Looking forward to watching your other build vid's. 👍

Be aware, version 2 is horrible, get an old one.
Sold it on now .. too much faffing around in the end. Just use one camera now, insta360
Just bought 1m x 2m of light grey faux suede roof lining material with a 2mm foam backing. £12 delivered from Vandalized. I have a few tins of spray glue left over from trimming the rear of the van. It took a couple of hours to remove the old foam and adhesive once the lining was taken off. Finishing by wiping the high density foam down 5 times with isopropyl alcohol. Soon as it stops raining I'll get it fitted and upload a video.
Nice one.... Used to have something similar, just fancied a change. That'll teach me lol..

Yeah, need to work on some secret holding techniques lol...I must admit it was abit odd at first those lenses, but I'm not too bad now... will take the comments onboard for the next one.😊👍🏼

in my opinion not good camera for the lack of field of view, much better to get a go pro hero 3 or hero 4 in second hand for the price

did you brush paint the dash as you didnt show it being painted .just planning to do mine and want to get it right.
I did mate yes, really easy to do, just give it a good clean to start with, I used a 2" brush...

I found that a lot of settings could not be used. Not activaded in software? . Specialy loop recording time. I like 3 min files because it makes sure the sound stays in sinc.. i have the 2022 version . But like the 2021 version better

I used 4way stretch carpet on the Crafter , it looked excellent, the important thing is that you are happy with it Ian 🤙

Need the microphone mod, unless you are handy and can open the micro USB on an unoriginal mic and move 1 wire up, here's a little cheat for you, take the original external mic, cut the wire and connect a 3.5mm female jack and swoosh,you're set to use any microphone you want, sweet and simple, because internal AND external mic is rubbish and they did switch the wire to stop people from using other than their own mic, but this little cheat fixes it the easier way possible 👍

@@theadventuresoflario you're very welcome, I spent hours watching people tinker and solder this thing, one guy even ripped the camera open to change the internal mic, my camera is still under warranty, so I thought to myself, better to sacrifice a rubbish microphone and do it like this 😅
you should totally make a tutorial on that! Because with that one could in theory use a BT mic
I just got one and the video quality is super poor. Mine is a v2 according to the user manual (cover page, bottom small text). May I know what yours is? Are you happy with the quality?
It also doesn't have a gyroscope setting like I've seen on other TH-cam videos. Does your have it?
Hi... Yes, just checked and mine is V2.0, As crazy as it sounds I see the quality is better at 1080 30fps but I'm just using it strapped to the windscreen of the van, and honestly for what I want it for it works fine, as for as the gyroscope setting, do you mean a gimbal type thing? If so these don't have that, very much point and shoot, there is video stabilization on there that you can turn on or off (which to me is an odd setting) but no gyroscope. I use my Osmo Pocket for that, see my latest video.👍🏼 Cheers for the message, I hope you get better usage the more you play around with it ...

Thank you for replying! I dug a little deeper and turns out this is the 2022 version that downgraded a lot of the hardware while maintaining the same model number. I've returned mine and looking to get an older model now! Glad yours work for you!!

I was going to invest in the mic, but honestly I don't think I'll bother now, I'd much rather get a mount for the Osmo and record into that, and keep the Action cam for that purpose, paid for itself today, hit a pothole in the van, which inturn shut the van down.. had to restart it on the key?!..
