I love this movie. What an excellent recap. Talokan is such a beautiful city.

I thought the movie was good but very predictable and formulaic, so I never got that invested into the story. However, it a lot going for it. Michael B. Jordan did a fantastic job with his directorial debut. Especially with the fight scenes. They were so unique and fresh for this franchise. Of course Johnathan Majors killed it in his role in this movie, and all the performances were great. Overall, I liked it. It was enjoyable. Great review

I’m happy to see your channel on TH-cam. I am going to support you, but I have some constructive criticism - in order to review the movie, I know you had to watch it. What took me out of just being able to enjoy your review, was the multiple multiple mispronounced names of the people and places in the movie. You only needed to watch the movie to hear how to pronounce all of these words. It distracted from your review and recap. I’m a stickler for Black excellence! I don’t really care if other people don’t live up to that standard, but I expect our channels to be the best. I look forward to watching more videos in the future.💜✊🏾

Carl was a psychopath like his mother! She passed down those traits to him. The sister , Dione, does have some type of personality disorder, because she carried a stuffed animal, like she was 5. Therefore, something happened that stunted her growth, perhaps her mother leaving? Ian didn’t deserve any of that. Carl was evil and ruthless when he took his life. Everyone in that house was a victim of Cheryl/Neve. And everyone paid for her sins, which wasn’t fair. Carl and Dione spiraled after their mom tried to pay them to leave. Moral of the story: your actions have consequences and affect everyone around you. She may run, but her kids will catch up to her. I think it was a very good movie

The ending was awful. But I know, in the US if a young Black man tried to break into a suburban home, in a White neighborhood, the neighbors would have called 911 and he would have been shot by the cops. The end.

I loved this movie. The story, the social commentary, the complexity of the characters, the ending… all of it. I’ve noticed in the comments a lot of people focusing on the children’s trauma. But I think this movie is a great conversation starter for how motherhood can be a very traumatic event in a woman’s life. I really wanted to know more about her life as Cheryl. In the opening, we see her staring at the belt on the door and later we hear her say she didn’t want Dione, she was forced to have her. I’m wondering how much of her early life was abuse? Something affected her profoundly enough that she wore a disguise every day after with the wigs, the sun glasses, the multiple layers of clothing. All four of her children treated her like she was there to serve them, which is a very toxic way we learn to treat our mothers in society. I thought the overflowing water was a nice touch. It was like, “Well, the floodgates are open. There’s no turning back.” Glad she left. Good for her.

The Strays is a pathetic racist movie. It insinuates - let black kids in a white neighbourhood and they will introduce weed, smoking, excessive sexualisation in young people & murder. That ending where the black kid kills the white man is just rough. How could a black director do this to his people?

The ending was very profound and dark. Such an unlikable character who doesn't change in the end. I enjoyed it.
