I felt it was a society that was half-built by humans, who have all left for some reason; but an alternative idea is that the robots have existed there for centuries and built their own churches, bars etc. Anyway the robots go about their lives like ordinary human beings, with their funny personalities Rather than being a king, I thought about the big chief robot as a kind of benevolent master computer, connected with all those wires to how the city is running: maybe things in the city were a bit chaotic BECAUSE he's not working properly (after the vandalism of the blackhat gang)

Often see that game with my grandchildren. Masterpiece....whole new world!!!Just perfect graphics!

I've played the demo and am going to buy it next week. I also discovered Monobot, it's kind of like it but totally different.i discovered it when I searched for a mobile version of Rain word and it was the top result, it also starts as a demo. I bought it and now I'm addicted. Anyways, check it out, I think you'll like it.

Excellent video on the rogue, this game is a gem, and the best souls game that it not made from soft, and actually better than from softs weakest souls games also Tiel is the most fun I had in a souls game besides Bloodborne, indeed a rogue done right, presentation, lore, combat, the creators did an amazing job with this character, only downside is after you get spoiled with his near infinite stamina and quick movement all other shells seem sluggish, with Tiel you play Bloodborne, with the other shells you play dark souls. And Bloodborne is the best in the genre, only waiting to be surpassed by its sequel.

Im surprised how little videos are made on youtube about machinarium. This game is truly a hidden gem

this game is actually set in the same universe of Samorost, a game made by the same developers. the robot that got captured from his homeworld is the same robot you see in samorost 2.

The first time I ever played this game was next to my Dad, on his IPhone, while waiting for my sister in the hospital late one night. She was little and couldn’t stop coughing but ended up being perfectly fine, but I remember feeling scared as I was little myself, and playing this game with my Dad brought me distraction and peace. I think it was one of the first times he let me play a game on his phone. It might even be one of the first phone games I ever played. It has continued to bring me peace ever since and I listen to the soundtrack regularly. I’m so glad people still talk about this beautiful masterpiece. ~<3

Introduced to my dad a while ago. He hasn’t played videogames since the street fighter 2 ages until I showed him Machinarium which he loved . This game always will remind me of him Edit: reading the comments now and it looks like a lot of people also played this with a parent and hearing everyone’s stories warms my heart and I’m so glad we all shared this experience

Can anyone help me remember this one puzzle game? I remember the second location, there was like a libra lift with a sausage dog, and you had to lure the dog to use the lift

Machinarium is so simple, yet so enchanting for a game that's about an hour long. "By the Wall" is such an amazing soundtrack I can't even describe it. The entire game awakens a feeling of the sublime and I love it.

I played Machinarium when I was about 8 years old, I kept playing it every year hoping to forget the plot and enjoy it like it was my first time, now I know it like the back of my hand, I love this game and it means a lot to me, it’s really special.

I got this game when I was around 11 yrs old... Goddamn, it was an amazing experience, it brings so many memories. I love it. I hope more people get to experience it. Thanks for talking about it, I might be late to it, but thanks for making this video. It really brought me back.

One of my favorite games of all time. The very calming music, the charming handdrawn visuals, the fun puzzles, it's all perfect. I am also extremely biased since it's one of the first games I remember playing, and I have strong feelings of nostalgia tied to it. My dad got it for our iPad and we played it together when I was like 10-11. People who haven't checked it out yet should do it!

The game is from the Czech Republic, so the name Josef it's pronounced more like how you pronounced it at the beginning, you don't need to correct anything. (:

Good video, but I dont think the the robots in Machinarium are enslaved. The Steam trading card for the king refers to him as "The Mayor", which implies that he was chosen to be in this position. Besides, if the mayor really was an evil dictator then Josef wouldn't have any reason to help him ( I also don't think that the mayor is wearing a headseat, he just has a big brain)

How old is this game? My son got it on my phone. Hes 12. And sometimes he needed help. That help ended up being me doing a play through. It's a very interesting game.

I recommend to turn on the subtitles and laugh at all the gibberish whenever he says Machinarium xD

This game was my childhood.... This i the first game I remember playing vividly, and I remember most of the puzzels. God I loved this game... and it makes me so happy to know so many others did too.

So much true. A real masterpiece. Being a robot game it still plays like a fairy-tale. I played it around 2010 and still when my best friends call me - "the Castle" is heard ringing on my phone. Never stopped wondering why Amanita wouldn't pick up Machinarium 2. Maybe just probably it is too hard to match this one.

Heyy. I’m from Czech Republic and I used to play this game (and other amanita games) with my dad. I recently found out that Adolf Lachman has opened an art exhibition of his work (Machinarium, Samorost included) here in Prague. There’s going to be a Floex Ensamble live concert next week with Josef as a drummer (not sure how they’re gonna do that xd) and a separate lecture will be dedicated to Josef before the concert. Btw just wanted to say that the first pronunciation was more close than the second one. :D And awsome video of course.
