Holikme Dryer Vent Cleaning Brush Review
มุมมอง 64K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Giving our dryer vent it's first cleaning in AT LEAST the 6 years we lived here with the Holikme Dryer Brush. Lint build up in dryer hoses is a major cause of house fires so important to take the time to clean them out from time to time. Note, when I bought the product it was 25 foot, but the current model is actually 30 feet. This is NOT a sponsored post but if you're interested in buying, her...

    apparently this home owner NEVER watched a youtube video on how to clean a dryer vent. Nor does he own a pair of pliers... Can use a pair of pliers to hold the next segment and the drill to loosen the first section. Then go forward from there.

    it's trash, the MyZone switch is trash. I have mine for 3 years and the battery life, the results, the accuracy is all trash. The MZ-3 is far better, more accurate and more battery efficient.

      Yours must be defective. I made this review 3 years ago and am quite literally at the gym wearing this exact one as we speak and it works great. I'd recommend contacting their customer service

      Follow up question, have you tried chest, wrist and forearm? I've found chest to be most accurate but usually go forearm out of convenience

    • @ramyfares9099
      @ramyfares9099 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@windproductreviews chest is the most accurate but still doesn’t give as accurate results as the MZ-3. I got mine in June 2021, and it’s giving me problems for the past 3 years. Now it stopped working, when I tried charging it it gives a long beep then lights up green and switches off and that’s it. I tried wearing it, it is not picking up my heart rate anymore, neither on my wrist or on my chest.

    Mine came with the adapter for the drill bit; seems essential. It was in a small plastic bag so easy to miss if it was in the bottom of the box. Yeah, no instructions came with it other than how to assemble, but that's why we have TH-cam. No explanation with the packaging on why there are two different brushes. Just used this today and it worked as promised. As for unscrewing the pieces, it's pretty easy with two pairs of plyers; hardly any effort at all. Surprised you couldn't figure that out. I did read from someone else that you want to do this a little at a time because If you start out with ten feet of extension tubes and turn the drill on, it can twist up on itself very quickly. best to shove as much of the tubing inside the vent as you can before turning on the drill. Start with 3 or 4 feet. Then add on a couple more sections and go again... rinse and repeat. I found that the threads on a couple of the sections did not allow me to screw them in very far almost like they were cross-threaded, so I tossed those sections aside and didn't use them. I like the idea of starting on the outside of the house with the dryer running on a cool setting. That's the way I did it, and the air helps force the lint out. I went as far as I could this way (about 13 feet) and it got to the point where it didn't want to go anymore; perhaps because I'd hit a 90-degree corner where the duct went from the attic to. At that point, I had a hard time pulling it back out and it was actually stuck. I started to panic, thinking it was going to be a real chore to go up in the attic to take the ducts out to free up the tool. Fortunately, I was finally able to pull it back out. If this happens to you, DO NOT REVERSE THE DRILL, as this can cause one or more of the sections to unscrew then you will have it stuck in your ducts. Once done on the outside, I went into the laundry room and did that part of the duct. I then used the shop vac to both suck and blow the remnants of lint out. It was a bit of a chore on a hot day, but there's great satisfaction in knowing that I've eliminated a potential fire hazard and my clothes will probably dry a lot faster now with no error messages from the dryer.

  • @Nan-59

    There is a brand that instead of twisting totally together. They have a different way that it goes together with a little button. I think I like the other way better cause then you can undo it and store it At least for me

  • @sharonelle100
    @sharonelle100 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    REPEAT: DO NOT put the drill in reverse to remove the brush attachment from the vent; that creates an entirely different problem....ask me how I know. However, to take the sections apart after removing it from the vent, I stood on the sections and reversed the drill. That let the sections separate for easy storage.

    I just did my outside pvc pipe, My house is 30 years old and the pipe has never been cleaned. You need to turn the dryer on the cool setting, You will know when you hit a clogged area, You will fill it and a pile of lent will blow out, Keep going there will be more. I took the back off of my dryer and cleaned it what a mess, I got a big pile of lent. You need to clean the blower fan in the dryer too. My dryer works again.

  • @kctyphoon
    @kctyphoon 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I've never done this - but I'd suggest getting a cordless electric leaf blower and shoving it into the vent pipe behind the dryer, blowing the air out of the house - and then running the brush from the outside - in - back and forth - pulling it out every pass to allow the crap to blow out. Id imagine the brush will knock everything loose, and the lead blower will send it all out of the house. A stubby nozzle for my Milwaukee M18 blower was like $20.. I can't imagine that not working, and far better then the brush just pushing it all towards the dryer like it was when u started.

      just remember that you absolutely can NOT use the drill reverse (counter clockwise) as the brush comes apart and stays in the dryer vent, which creates an entirely different issue. Ask me how I know.... hahahahha

    My customers told me that those break. It’s good for short vents but you don’t have a flex rod at the end for curves and elbows. So it would be harder to use.

    My wife and I used this to clean the first half of our dryer ductwork and were amazed at how effective it is. (We ran out of time or we would have done the whole length in one approach). It's intuitive, very easy to use. It removed a lot of accumulated lint quickly and efficiently. It took us several cycles to fully scour the first length of flexible tubing. It followed the curvature of the duct smoothly. Incidentally, it's so flexible that I could bend a segment to a 90 degree angle without it snapping. Highly recommended. Ours came with the adaptor, a small piece in a small cellophane packet, easy to lose, even when packaged at the factory.

    I'm confused what's the point of this device if you already have a Samsung watch? Samsung watches have a lot more sensors, features and a better app experience

    • @windproductreviews
      @windproductreviews ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question. Samsung watch compares to this this when worn on the wrist. The closer you get a heart rate monitor to your heart the more accurate it is. So the chest belt is the most accurate, followed by the forearm belt, the wrist. There is also a lot of gamification and challenges on the myzone app that are a lot of fun. Another big plus is the batter last for months, vs my watch that I need to charge every night.
