The channel of a woman exploring alone abandoned, haunted, creepiest places and ghost towns in US. Fell in love with mystical legends and local history.
I have walked hundreds of miles with my camera, spent the whole days and nights in ghost towns, cemeteries, morgues looking for anything mystical or weird, but have never had any paranormal encounters, but I remain hopeful.
I know that this description is unlikely to be read to the end, but should say:
Almost all the videos on my channel contain riddles inside. Those riddles can be of two types:
- That can be YOU WIN phrase encrypted in an absolutely unpredictable form (cipher, sound).
- An odd object which can’t exist in reality may be featured in a video.
A single video may contain only one riddle. If you manage to decipher YOU WIN message in a video or find an unreal object, leave the comment to let me know. First person, who solved the riddle in a video, will get $50 prize from me.
Sincerely yours,
Darina

I found a historic 1790 ABANDONED TAVERN in woods of Pennsylvania
I didn’t finish the second episode of “200 Year Dynasty House” video yet.
Need to process and summarize too much information.
Meanwhile, I want to tell you about an interesting abandoned house in Evansburg State Park, Pennsylvania, I explored this fall. Almost all historic abandoned buildings in the park are well documented, but some of them have not been awarded special attention.
One of them is a roadside three-story plastered stone house hidden away from prying eyes. The abandoned homestead, located at Skippack Creek, had looked pretty intact 20 years ago, but now it slowly and irreversibly turns into overgrown ruins.
The first reference to it is dated back to 1790. That year some Peter Williams acquired the property from Mary Bramwell, the widow of John Bramwell, to open a tavern. Something tells me the poor widow wasn’t happy of this deal.
The tavern (bearing the name of Peter Williams) used to play a certain role in life of the local community. First of all, it was a place in which the planning for the Skippack Bridge took place in 1792. That bridge on Germantown Pike over Skippack Creek is one of the oldest bridges in continuous use in the Unites States and probably the oldest to have retained its original dimensions.
As well, in the end of 18th century, the area became the center of the Funkites, former Mennonites splintered from the church as a result their support for the Revolutionary War. Circa 1815, Funkites founded their cemetery that lies in 5 minutes of walk from the Peter Williams tavern.
During 19th century, the tavern had changed a few owners and was used as a residential house.
According to 1848 map the building belonged to D. Hartzel.
Between 1860 and 1877, it had been owned by Abraham Detweiler (1824-1888), a farmer, and his wife Ann (died in 1894). Approximately during those years, the north portion was added to the house.
One of their descendants B. Detweiler inherited the house what is marked on a map of 1893.
Before Second World War, the land, house and farm outbuildings had been under ownership of Joseph Carberry family.
In 1969, the farmstead changed the owner again. Commonwealth of Pennsylvania purchased the property through Project 70 to establish the Evansburg State Park in Montgomery County and since then the house stays abandoned and forgotten.
You can see that the house is ready to collapse, and I have no idea how this poor guy is still able to stay.
"Legends say the abandoned house still holds whispers of their love and sorrow, tangled in the ivy that claims its walls. But those who stumble upon it swear they’ve seen fleeting shadows and heard faint melodies drifting through the trees." (Unknown author)
Should say that my modest historical research doesn't pretend to be a scientific investigation. Some facts don't seem to me to be very trustful, but it’s all I manage to find.

I search and explore alone ghost towns, historic, abandoned, haunted places in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. My explorations are based on local creepy legends and old maps research and aimed to discover something new in urban exploring.

In today’s trip I’m going to explore three abandoned farm houses in New Jersey. These houses are scattered in various areas of the Central Jersey and I’ve never explored them before. Not sure in their condition and accessibility: the houses may be posted, fenced or rotten to the ground. All I can see on Google Maps now is three overgrown roofs among woods. Anyway, I have a free day and three pi...

i thought about bears that moment 🙂
Do calm and murder to go together, calm and murder?
Very cool!
Thank you, John! 🙂
@@walkingcam1 You're welcome! Just be very careful in places like that. They can collapse without warning from the slightest vibrations. Ask me how I know!
oh, yeah, John, totally agree. Before the visit i had had plans to film the interior, but once i saw it, i immediately got rid of that idea 😁
I've never hiked at night, just camped out there. I'm scared of the dark I enjoy the Pine Barrons very much! I guess I'm a thrill seeker.
Hello, Cindy! That's not scary when hiking. Rather mysterious and interesting 🙂
It's in a state park and they just let it deteriorate? What no historical society? That burns me up.
who knows. I know, at least, five houses in similar condition in that park
Great explore love the narrative very informative .
Thank you! I attempted to document everything I had found about this house
Be careful in that location. Going by the graffiti, the smiley face killers have been there ! 😮
Thank you, Benjamin! yeah, it's a deathtrap
This could be the last doc of this place.
Afraid, so. That's exactly I wanted to do - save it on the video, at least 😢
What a shame 😢😢😢
No hope if it ever might be saved 😢
Nice find !
Hi, Kris! Thanks! Roadside house. 5 mins to go from the parking
Definitely not the only occupant, if you listen closely, might have to turn volume to the tippy top, and you will hear Jiminy performing a seranade for our pudgy friend there.
The Bridge over Pennypack creek in Holmesburg, Philly, older than the Skippack bridge, 1600’s something, the oldest bridge still in continuous use in America.
may be. I found this here: www.loc.gov/item/pa2996/
That park isn’t too far from me , I’ll have to check it out, Thanks! Happy Trails
Be careful please, the back wall is ready to go. Happy trails! 🙂

Another wonderful piece of history you have shared Darina. Thank you, as always. 😊
Thank you, Francis! I didn't find any research about this place and had to conduct my own 🙂
The worst thing you can encounter off trail is another human.
Unfortunately, yes
I love the map inserts, it really helps to put the location in context to the area. Please keep it up!
Thank you very much! They are very informative
@@walkingcam1 Agree with the map insertions and Census data. Great job, thank you.
As usual, the video has a concealed riddle inside. It may be an encrypted YOU WIN phrase or an unreal object that never existed. First person, who solved the riddle or spotted the object, will get $50 from me. Sad, the most of the riddles on the channel still remain unfound and unsolved.
😊
Great history 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thanks, David! Three nights in a row of researching 😁
Thats exactly why you're supposed to stay on the marked trails when hiking.
Is not trapping area to supposed to be marked?
Thanks for the tour! I remember seeing rhis as a young child. Back then, they had picnic tables on the roof and steps up there.(40 years ago)
Hello, Robbie! Hope those years, the interior wasn't graffitied
@walkingcam1 Back then there was a fence around the top and all the sand was gone from around the bottom. So it was about 15 feet off the beach! I don't think many people had been in there by that point, so no spray painting. Sad to see what its because! Give the public access anymore, and this is what happens! Very sad.
@@Robbie-sk6vc agree 😢

There not that bad. You can stick your hand in one and be fine. Just don't mess with the trappers sets. It's hunter harassment. And off public trails .. so trespassing on private land. Alot of public trails go through private land. You step off the trail your trespassing. Just leave the sets alone.
i didn't know what was there. Just noticed the chain. Thought that's something related coal mining era. No any signs
your coal mine videos are really good! i was wondering if you ever worked in the coal mines?
hi, Lee 🙂 Thank you! No, just mysterious undergrounds attract me. So interesting
reminds me of a scene from the youtube short film "SCP Overlord"
g'day, gday.Dont you fall into any traps D:))❤ Hope all is good as Gold for you. Loved how Chuck gave you shout out!! I was all glowing with pride wen I heard him say your name in his video!!😊❤ Never stop Exploring or being a walking Cam!
Hello, dear 🙂 I'm so looking forward the summer. Great time to go exploring. Hope, your are fine too. btw, who is Chuck? Do i know him?
Glad you saw it. I hate those traps. They are instruments of torture. They should be outlawed. We want you to stay safe on your adventures!
Thank you, Pyrs!
Store your treasures in heaven, NOT on earth.
Double it and give it to the next person
🤣 i had same idea
I'm learning a lot. I lived in a state forest all my life. I never thought to look for signs of lurking dangers. Foot holes, animals, and thorn bushes, but never ground traps. Stay safe
Hi! Thank you!
Wow...those traps are horrific...glad you're ok
fox trap. May be pretty painful 🙂
Not necessarily related to this particular video but even if you are not a hunter you should never be in the woods without wearing orange during hunting season in PA.
Good idea. 👍I have an orange hat now
I treasure the places I find (always very remote) unmarked by vandalism or graffiti. However, I also like to document graffiti that is well done, some of which can be quite stunning, at sites that are already heavily damaged and covered with spray paint. Concrete City comes to mind as a location that has some examples of artistic graffiti, although a lot more that is just wretched. It appears your channel is growing, which is well deserved.
Hello, Johnny! 🙂 There're some cool graffities in the center of the city. I don't see any problem in that, but vice versa. I'm not happy when they appears on historic buildings or ruins.

MY OLD HOMESTEAD WHERE I GREW UP==
Hello, George! Nice to see you here. The legacy of your family is great. Would like to save this house, but, at, least, i can document and save it on the Internet. Looks like you are a relative of Shawn and Tammy Kiefer?
Why did you leave a creepy doll behind is what I'd like to know?
Usually i leave tiny creepy porcelain statues, but I ran out of them. So, this trip i used only doll i had. It appeared not the best idea. Too bloody, to big
Instructional SUCKAGE!
Lol, number one, cinder blocks weren't widely used until the early 1900"s, the so-called separate kitchen is the original house, the cinder block building is much newer.
yes, the north portion of the house was added to the house much later, between 1900 and 1938.
What movie is the little clip from?
i don't remember, sorry. Something like old "Shining"
The bird sounds are wonderful to hear!
Thank you, Laarla!
Love the video, hate the silly doll.
thank you! I won't leave so ugly again 😁
@@walkingcam1 The video is beautiful and interesting.
Leaving some trash behind like that disturbing doll is like spray painting the walls..in my opinion. I live on a old farm in Pennsylvania myself.built around 1890..house and barn are original and in good shape..
have to agree 😥
Nice job on the video!
Thank you very much 🙂
My husband Shawn Kiefer and father inlaw George Kiefer Jr grew up on this farm. It belonged to George Kiefer Sr from around 1952 until 2003 when he passed away and farm was sold. We have pictures of the home and barn that burnt down in 1973 . Also have picture of the family standing in front of the house from the late 1800s. He has alot of great memories and stories from his grandfather about the farm. I will try to post the pictures that i have.
Oh, i so hoped if somebody of the relatives watched the video! Tammy, thank you very much for the comment! Yes, i read about George Kiefer Sr life. He was a great man, I believe. If you don't mind, can you email me those photos? I'm working now on second episode and that's would be great to include photos. I can blur faces if need. And if you could share any details, that's would cool as well. I'm stuck a bit in the investigation. The local historical society can't tell anything as well. Thank you very much in advance. Email is camwalking738@gmail.com Darina
@@walkingcam1 Ok i will email you the pictures. I shared this with our Kiefer family on FB to watch and i am sure there is lots of other old pictures to see. Do not forget about the Kiefer Island there is lots of history there
