Saw this Tour in Zürich. Matt and Johnny went my way ( maybe the rest of the band too) when they came from catering lunch. I asked for a Interview for a Sound magazine. They were on the way to Soundcheck in Volkshaus. Perhaps Matt remembers.
Fantastic gig, seen them twice...Leeds Town &Country Naked Self tour.... Manchester Apollo Ensoulment tour....both absolutely brilliant!
The Manchester Apollo is such a mega venue, so many great bands over the years ❤
@jeremyblandford7669 for me certainly one of the best since late 1970's. Fleetwood Mac,Duran Duran,Tears for Fears, Simple Minds, April Wine,A-Ha, Maximo Park and BEST EVER The The.
@@bobharrison4711 ooh, '86 for me. First up Ozzy & Ratt, Slayer a couple, Soundgarden & Moby, etc. The Cult '87 was a true belter !
51st state? might be talking about Canada! 😱😆Great concert Adding Johnny Marr was brilliant
Was about England.
Oporto, 1989! The First Concert!
Obrigada!
Nice! Thanks for doing this.
Attended this tour, Houston, TX 1989. Went to the Comeback Special at The Troxy 2016.
this vibe is unmatched

What an insane set-list.....pure brilliance.
Just been checking.....6 of these tracks were played at Manchester Apollo on the Ensoulment tour. GIANT was the grand finale....what a song.
Definitely an airtight set in this video! [WARNING: SPOILERS INCOMING BELOW] As for the latest tour, Giant, The Whisperers, and Icing Up were really special surprises in Denver!
Amazing! 😂😂
Sucks that JEALOUS OF YOUTH is edited out (only beginning and end of song)
Copyright TH-cam BS I’m afraid
It's a track that got left off In a Priest Driven Ambulance....
damon packard
Big thank-you. I was there and have this on VHS. A few years ago I was lucky enough to be on set with Tim Pope and he kindly signed the cover (and my Infected VHS cover too!).
Very lucky person, I'm Green with envy.
Thanks for sharing! Sound quality is quite good!
❤❤❤❤
❤❤
The new album Cognative Dissident is brilliant. Matt is better than ever.
New album is called Ensoulment; Cognitive Dissident is the opening track.
I was definitely in error. Thank you very much for putting the record straight!
So happy I just discovered this. Thank you, Hard Quartet.
To me, this was the soundtrack of the 90s. Not fucking grunge.
❤
lyrical primitivism, association, expansion, then condensation. Loudness and noise. One liners, waves, and force majure.
Too kool
Absolute master class. “My primitive words match my primitive heart”
Stood in a field at 12:30pm, orange ice lolly dripping on my hand and wasps flying about, attracted crazily to the sugar, kinda went well with the heavier elements of this song!
Syd’s heritage.
sometimes live versions are just better
Wow...never heard this before...profound words D...🍃🌻🌿
The voice! I could die! How can someone sing like that? !
Thanks, had this and "Infected" years ago on vhs. Managed to get the latter to download after alot of trawling but nearly gave up on this one. Just checked you have great playlist, some i know but many to watch for first time. Will subcribe
Excellent 😂 ❤
Mets un tee-shirt !
Awesome I was at this .. they played Ocean Songs in full then a couple of other classics for an encore, finishing with Everything’s Fucked. Just witnessed them absolutely slay the same venue for 3 hours last Sunday night 14 years later .. extremely high level the whole time, played the new album and old classics, fully firing after 2 festival shows at the concert hall which were mere warmups compared with that Forum performance. Every other show will be like that from now on, they are only playing about 9 more shows in different towns each time after the long overdue Melbourne dates so they will all be classics no doubt! Legends.
When I was a teenager,I saw this video on local TV,so I was very shocked by the chaotic tripping sound and visual of this song.My memory of that is still vivid. And 8 years later,I was very excited to see the first live in Japan, and it is one of my best memories.I would like to thank them for making wonderful music. 4:44 4:47 4:47
This is a masterpiece of a song. It feels like they took the best of the flaming lips experimental rock era with their pop era and enchanted it to a complete euphoria of noise. A chaotic, depressing and bleak psychedelia that only mastermind pranksters could make.
That fucking earsplitting guitar squall at 3:18 blew my mind when I first heard it. Plenty of bands do psychedelia perfectly fine, but these guys always sounded like they were in danger of spinning out of control. Amazing shit
When you're clinically insane and a musician
3:03 - 3:11; it makes me feel as if my reality is ripping apart, and I’m finally seeing the perspective in my mind I’m missing.
This bloomin Bee, pretty much all me days! ❤️❤️ Turns rainy Derbyshire in to fairyland❤️😘
Mercury Rev is top!!!
"Feeling troubled, I'm feeling trapped...can't shake that bubble off my back"
Yerself is steam is great. See you on the other side is great (Sudden Ray of hope: what a song!). Deserter's songs great too, and the rest great too (I was touched by "My Love" in the Secret Migration album). Too bad if you can't appreciate it; no need to dis about it. One of my fav band, from their beginnings to now. Good for them they were able to reinvent themselves in many different way and were able to keep profund qualities. No regret here. So many groups of that time we about only one great album.
Cool band,I love MERCURY REV...Here,from BRAZIL🎼🎹📣🔊🥁🥁🎙🎙🎙
3rd best song of all time.
Yeah David Baker was great, but what about Suzanne Thorpe’s flute?
Head in the ceiling fan
Awesimeeeeee
Hokudyfh shut this so tuckiggbgiid
Best opeth song ever. Period
This REALLY... REALLY makes me question their decision to have literally NO blast beats on studio except for Lotus Eater.
