Hey man! It's Sean from Saturday, rad biking with ya and hope to see you out there soon!
Dude is dragging his rear brake the whole trail😂
Why are you putting that wrap on the handle bars to begin with? Did you wrap the forks to? Those handle bars are bent like that for a purpose. The bend should be more upward.
Honestly, it really doesn't really matter which way's "up" or what angle the bars are at, there is no real right and wrong. You should be sitting and standing on your bike /pedals before adjusting the handlebars. Change the bike to where feels natural. I had to twist mine recently so that they came up a bit further, because it was more comfortable for me to ride. Like changing seat hight. If it's more comfortable for you to have lower bars, you can twist them. There's a bend in the bar so you can have a variable height just by twisting them around. But yeah no real right or wrong, if the circle thing is being held by a circle clamp, the rest is just a matter of whatever works rlly
Why i left Christianity th-cam.com/video/I_btCVYm1IA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=QGcon4vNi3omCTUV And th-cam.com/video/SdyyNimjYCs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=vFbcuRhXeHww9yEf
This is very cool content!☺
If you were to do that again would do you think it would be better to go all the way up Daniel’s pass and then do Sweetwater the opposite way? Nice vid!
@@josephmenke2889 I actually want to try both ways. I couldn’t tell which way would have been better!
I'm 99% sure your handle bars are upside down
Change your bars to a riser it will help your thumbs….cool trail
Nice stuff!
I saw your TH-cam on your V on platte and circle need to watch 2 mo videos before I sub!
@@princelake6629 just posted one about sweetwater trail. It was just built in 2021 and actually a Timelapse of Daniel’s pass also built in 2021 coming tonight. Thanks for watching!
I live in the neighborhood at the bottom of Stratton Open Space and am riding those trails almost every day. Except in the winter, but you'll see tire tracks in six inch deep snow,. It's one of the best places for MTB on the front range.
Now I gotta get out and ride it.. Try turning your handlebars up some, they look pointed too far downward. I would definitely recommend a full sus bike in the near future too! Nice work!
That trail flyover is wild.
Wow, they changed all sorts of stuff since I used to ride that area in 2015. I used to love Captain Jacks! That Captain Morgans is no joke! Way to give it a try on your HT! I also really liked the chutes a lot!
People underestimate this new wood feature all the time. It's very new and I've already heard lots of crash stories (I live in town and work at a bike shop). If you go out here, spot it very well. The air time isn't huge, but the landing is very challenging. You come in with a lot of velocity and the traction is not great on the landing.
Rough on a hardtail but a full suspension would be better i used to do jarl on my trek hardtail before i bought a full sus but nothing beats the control and feel f any marlin or excaliber. Series
back in the day Bear Creek was a hoot to bomb down then pick up 666 for more shred... kudos for riding UP 7 bridges, that top scree section is hard enough on foot let alone dragging a bike up it. appreciate the content, keep it up!
Dude on the hardtail, hell yeah.
Keep at it, ride the most technical trails you can both up and downhill. Miles will bring strength and smiles.
I'll stick with Jack's, thanks! 😵
Be safe. My old has hasnt ridden in a while but that decomposed granite on that mountain is like riding on marbles.
I live nearby
you don't need an FS bike, just ride more (FS bikes are fun though). I can see that you have no technique for the drops and rocks and you skid way too much. Gotta learn to let go a bit. Speed is your friend once you get the skills part down. Just go ride allot, it just keeps getting better and better.
In all fairness, riding the trails in this area is like dirt skiing XD. It's all kitty litter so there's not much traction regardless of tires or braking technique.
Rode a Marlin 6 for 4 years, put 5k miles on it. More of an XC bike, and thats the style i ride so i got a Santa Cruz Blur. They have some nice trail and enduro bikes too! How much you got saved for a trail bike? I live up in Fort Collins.
I just heard about this tail. Thanks for showing us what it's like. Looks gnarly!
Great effort and impressed you went for it.
yeah that's above my pay grade. nice work though!
Ride what ya brung. 🎉🎉. Looks like I’m headin to the springs for a ride. Nice video. That good ol loss granite. 👍👍👍👍👍👍six thumbs up
Rotate your bars up my friend. Your bike will be much easier to ride on the DH, and safer. You have riser bars, and you have them upside down.
Those are flat XC bars with a backsweep. That's what comes on a Marlin.
Rockin' the Marlin, nice! I ride a Marlin 7 myself. Looking to upgrade soon though....
All that gravel reminds me of ball bearings. Ask me how I know😅
Hardtail, strong work! Also good climbing. No one includes the climbing and that's where a lot of the juice is...
Yikes, GG is def not a good climbing trail…oof
It might be the angle, but your bars look like they are rolled too far back. That could be why your thumbs get sore. Take your bike to a bike shop or ask someone on the trail if they think your bar position is OK. You don't want to keep riding with your thumbs above your bars because that's not going to end well. THANKS for the video.
That’s the first thing I noticed. It looks like he has them rolled down. Those are riser bars, they are supposed to rise up, not down.
Ride with thumbs under the bars.
Looks like your bars are tilted down too much. Bring them up for more control. Don't ride with your thumbs under the bars, you have way less control. Whoever told you to have them over is wrong. Also that gold foil on your bars will corrode over time, I'd recommend taking it off.
Good storytelling, the Marlin isn't built for steep tech. You are wise to dismount. First thing & it's big, whoever told you to keep the thumbs over the grip hasn't had their hand slip off the grip at the worst possible moment. It's very ugly and I recommend thumbs around the grip for hard braking and handlebar security. Personally I only use the pinky fingers to death grip the end of the bar. The middle two fingers are just along for the ride. Second, please turn that frown upside down. The bars that is. Especially in steep chunk that hand position puts your body position at a disadvantage. Rolling them forward 10-15 degrees will make it happier. Kudos I'm subscribing for you
Exactly. Way too much down tilt. Yikes.
looks super gravely... sketchy even on a full suspension. Props for hitting it tho. I rode for years on a janky hardtail, made it that much sweeter when I got a full suspension. You'll get there. The whole "thumbs over the bars for gnarly terrain" is total BS. Don't do that lol. You have less control over the bike and your hands have less grip strength that way.
Knarly as hell
Nice trail etiquette! Thanks, old Colorado guy
Cool you got a TH-cam channel now
i love my trek slash 8 good on you for attempting that on a hard tail!
Good stuff man! You still need to make it down to Trinidad state park and hit this downhill sometime!
nice job kid - been looking forward to riding this, thanks for posting and giving me something to look forward to. best wishes on getting your FS - keep pushing!
No slack baby.. You are awesome - balls of steel and deserve a FS - nice comments and well done
What the camera doesn't show is the whole trail is about -25% grade.
Rock that hard tail till the wheels fall off my man. Makes you a better rider. I still enjoy taking my hard tail to trestle over my full suspension.
I've never seen anyone rocking a HT at trestle!
I'm impressed you were able to ride that much of it on the Marlin, there's some properly big features on that trail. Also who the heck told you to ride with your thumbs over the bars through chunk, I've literally never heard of that? Sounds like someone was feeding you some really bad advice.
Lol thats what im saying 😂
My problem is my thumbs getting sore while trying to keep my hands on the bars on the chunks, so I can imagine how easy it'd be to lose control if I didn't at least have that going for me. I'd say bad advice, but I'd like to hear otherwise if anyone knows better.
That was giving me anxiety watching it. Hand slips and he's kissing that stem with his teeth.
More speed more subs
