Why is varys here?

One thing I didn't like, even this early with all the good dialogue, is that they talk about there being a siege and people starving and they draw such a nice picture of it blah and blah and blah, only for Tyrion to point out that Stannis can breach the wall within minutes. What. Fucking. Siege??? Sounds more like a straight sacking to me.

This scene only works if Varys doesn’t know. He’s a procure of information, gives the illusion of knowing everything. The fact that he doesn’t know but is willing to learn to best serve the realm

If there's one rags to riches success story in all of GOT, there's no better option than Bronn. From cutthroat to Commander to Lord of Highgarden to Small Council member.

The thing I always noticed in this scene is the physical performance from Bron beginning the scene picking his fingers to then be told to stop by Tyrion to plan with him; Tyrion asserts himself by forcing him to stop, Varys enters and compliments bron on something Tyrion hadn’t known he had done and didn’t know its effect ness for the upcoming siege. Bron sees this and immediately goes back to picking his fingers

I wonder what siege Bronn was in... And I wonder if I have posted this comment before, and if I did, was it in the same universe, or different universes.

I find the cloak scene funny he argues so hard against wearing a cloak yet it later seasons when he becomes a lord he does wear a cloak lol

Man, these great scenes of dialogue are depressing to watch after the last few seasons..

You have to wonder where Bronn finds the time to groom his hands when he must already be quite busy washing his conscience clean between rapes and murders.

Honestly the scene is overrated. He rounded up all the known thieves? They must be shit thieves to begin with. And how come they were not already rounded up if they were already known? Its also interesting how they start by saying that starvation is a real problem (failing of course to realize that clever defenders would hoard whatever food is around and let the besiegers starve instead), but then go on and suggest that people would somehow steal food out of a granary. How exactly would that go, pray tell? Would they just stroll in with a cart and stroll back out? And once they start selling it, do you not think they would be discovered?

A great show wants to be great no matter how popular it gets. This show is not great because it failed to keep up with its own momentum. Brilliant dialogue and careful violence for the first halfish then a steady and then sudden drop off to end it.
