Dark Ambient Drone 27 V2 - Cold Ambient from the Baltic Sea
A cold sun above a frozen sea. I made this track in the fall of 2023 during a vacation in northern Germany. This was my first track with the UVI Falcon and I created it all on my Macbook with my headphones on.
The drone starts with a gnarly bass and some soft, moving sounds that fit my mood in the morning before my first coffee.
Actually I like this track. Maybe it is a bit too noisy (I love the noise generator in Falcon) but there is a nice melody and quite some movement.
Some keywords for those looking for dark ambient music for work, relaxation, meditation or just as background music. Thanks for listening.

Dark Ambient Drone 16 - space desert crash thingy
มุมมอง 5016 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
Yeah, that is an early one from my archives. I just discovered how to create some kind of space images with Stable Diffusion. Sorry for that one ;-) However the sounds are still ok, I think. A bit unsettling, spacey, deserty. I hope you like it. Some words for all the people who want to find ambient drones for meditation, sleep, focus and work: Welcome my friends :)
Dark Ambient Drone 44 - COLD DARK ambient drone with icy accents
มุมมอง 29414 วันที่ผ่านมา
An eerie dark ambient drone with a little more going on than usual. I developed most of the drone last week after work and refined the sounds while working. This is a dark ambient drone with eerie yet beautiful textures and a lot of sound nuggets to find while listening. You can put all your focus into listening or let the drone run in the background. I did some business writing while listening...
Dark Ambient Drone 36 - a very CALM track
มุมมอง 51221 วันที่ผ่านมา
I wasn’t sure if I should re-release this track from my former Dark Ambient channel „Achim van Oyten“. This track is very calm and just droning with some minimal melodic changes. No bells, whistles, guitars, lost piano sounds. Just a calm drone. A few minutes after starting the track I figured that it was still running. Maybe it takes a few minutes to get aquainted to this track. So let this „m...
Dark Ambient Drone 37 - Achim van Oyten goes into the Woods

A Dark Ambient Drone with deep rumbling and disturbing noises from the woods. I actually bought a nord drum 3 a few weeks before I arranged this drone. I like banging out some rough percussive sounds in those cold ambient drone tracks. It might not be the best drone for sleeping - but I like it for working. It mixes perfectly with the real life sounds around me.
Dark Ambient Drone 31 - Achim van Oyten's Icy Period

Many people liked this drone when it was on my other channel. Funny enough I also still like the track and the AI „artwork“. This drone puts me in a kind of hibernation mode :) I tested most of my drones myself by taking a nap while listening. You know, because of all that „drones for sleep, work and meditation“ keyword stuffing.
Dark Ambient Drone 21

I tried to implement some heavy guitar riffs in this drone. This was the most successful drone on my no so successful dark ambient channel. It had 10.000 views and I was quite proud. Unfortunately it didn’t bring too many new subscriptions.

Last year I shut down my Dark Ambient channel „Project Achim van Oyten“ for good. It hat a few mildly successful tracks but never made it above 600 subscribers. It was a pragmatic decision not out of frustration, Last week Andrei reached out to me looking for this specific track „abandoned“. This was the first track with more than 1.000 views on the channel. Well here it is again and I couldn‘t...
🌕 Moon Echo - a short Dark Ambient Drone demo (no talking)
มุมมอง 2694 หลายเดือนก่อน
Playing around with the Doppler parameter is a lot of fun and gives some nice effects for dark ambient. Also fiddled a bit with feedback and noise and with the Reverb Mix. I put Moon Echo and Pro R2 on a send bus and played a few notes with the Korg MS-20 virtual instrument by Arturia.
Saturday Drone - Dark Ambient Music with a very slow motion video
มุมมอง 2934 หลายเดือนก่อน
This track on Bandcamp: martingoldmann.bandcamp.com/track/saturday-drone I guess it makes little sense to make ambient music in the days of AI-generated music. But I love the process of creating. It is meditative and creative. And if only a few people listen to the track, I am happy :)
Himmel - Dark Ambient

This time I used my Korg Minilogue XD to record 4 tracks on the Fostex XR5. I messed up a little bit so I had to use some EQing on the bass and the lead track. Also I added a bit of reverb in Logic Pro and did some Noise reduction. (The tape was too noisy even for me ;-) The visuals are made with my iPhone 13Pro and slowed down with Topaz Video AI.

Back to the beginning. Just having plain drone fun with the Furthrrrr Generator, the A-124 WASP Filter, a bit of strymon Magneto and Valhalla Supermassive. The Video is taken this noon while walking the dogs. Just a pan from where I live. However I slowed it doooown with Topaz Video AI.

Hello Martin. Excellent information! I have a Tascam DP-008EX Portastudio that I record with. (I am DAWLESS) Would you know if the Lyra-8 would be compatible with a Portastudio? Thank you.
Full of depth and suspense as always. Nice one Martin
Thank you, Anthony :)

is all musics on this channel free?
My music is free to listen to. However it is not free for reusing it without my consent.
@martingoldmannmusic just wanted to use it for like 10 to 15 sec just for the ambience of the video + anyway thx
Your track is a real gem! The sonic research and the dark atmosphere are unmistakable. Congratulations on this new work.
Thank you :)

Danke :)
vielen dank!!!!!
sehr gerne 🙂
Hey Martin, thanks for sharing this jam. How did you sync the mother32 with the Mpc, via cv? Also what do you think of the fx from the Mpc, is the quality good and does it have some big ambient reverbs and delays? Keep it up Dennis
I am sorry, but I don’t have any idea how I did that. I made this video a few years ago. Since then my MPC sits in the shelf. Concerning the effects - they are ok for ambient as far as I remember.
Great idea!
Standard edition wasp is the same just not as pretty?
I think so - but I love the colors :)
@ 💯💯💯 I agree to a t - just picked up a standard edition one though for 67 dollars - I’ll pick up the awesome colored one at another time 😊😊😊
Fabulous Vlad Kreimer he made the synth I was looking for so long...
That really pulls me in deeply. Perfect drone!
Happy to read that :)
Really digging this. Great job!!
Thank you :)
Excellent dark ambient. 👍👍👍👍
Thank you for listening and all those thumbs up :)
Damn I missed this live don't remember any notification! Listening now though. Amazing drone soundscape Martin. Nice one. Now back to checking studio speakers as one channel is buzzing may have to replace. More expense. Take care and I will try to catch next live stream.
Yeah, that was a bit spontaneous. I had this patch since last sunday and wanted to play it. See you in the next livestream. :)
Sounds great 👍👍👏👏 I love dark ambient 🖤
Thank you :)
Sorry, I left the premiere without saying: thank you for the music 🎶 Have a nice evening, Markus
Selbiges :)
Deep very nice.
Thank you Anthony :) yes, there is a lot going on automation-wise (i hope „automation-wise“ is a valid expression)
Yes automation-wise is a word I understand so nice one.
🖤🖤🖤
Thank you :)
Very nice!
Thank you :) Had quite some fun building the track.
It feels like I can touch the sonic textures, so rich and detailed. A truly multisensory experience!!!
Thank you :)
Hi Martin, Thanks for sharing this! Your video deserves so many more likes! I really appreciate how you kept it straightforward without all the bells and whistles. The subterranean drone reminds me of Robert Rich’s Trances and Drones, where he created a similar atmosphere using a Prophet 5 back in the day. I'm curious about the instruments you used here-did you work with hardware synths? Since you also work with virtual instruments, I have an idea for a future video: would you consider showing how to create these kinds of slow-evolving drone soundscapes using virtual synths like Vital or Surge XT? Thanks again for sharing your music-it’s far better than much of the similar stuff we’re bombarded with on YT. :)
Thank you for your kind words. I have used a mix of virtual Instruments and hardware in this drone. The hardware synths are the Soma Lyra 8 and my nord drum 3 for percussive sounds. Also I used these VSTs: Piano, Augmented Voices and Pigments by Arturia and the UVI Falcon. It would be quite fun to break down some of those drones. Maybe I will do that in the future.
it's seems like something , but it's nothing
Very good job
Thank you :)
Amazing sounds as always on these extended drone session. Good to see you back.
„extended“ is a very nice understatement :)
Hey :) I have a few questions about the Moog Mother-32 - maybe you can help me ;) I have a Moog Mother-32. It is connected to the Motu-M2 interface with an instrument cable and a MIDI cable. It all goes to Ableton Live 11 Suite. I know how to record sound to the Audio track from the Mother-32, but I don't know how to record a MIDI track (unless it's not possible at all?). There is an External Instrument plugin on the MIDI track. All inputs/outputs/channels are set up rather correctly - there is a signal everywhere. I also have a ROLI Seaboard Block M keyboard and the question is can I play with it so that I can simultaneously control the sound etc. with the Mother-32? (i.e. I play on Roli, spin everything on Mother-32 and record it all to Audio or MIDI track. I can't do that :( I record ROLI without any problems to MIDI tracks with any VST plugins I want. I record Mother-32 to Audio tracks. However, I don't know how to connect it all together :( Thanks in advance for all the advice ;)
🖤🖤🖤
Amazing electronic track, man! The quality is top-notch, and your creativity shines through as always. Great job.
Thanks a lot for the motivation and the kind words.
Awesome Martin, lovely build up then just eerie sounds weaving around. Nice one as always.
Thank you, Anthony. Glad you like the track. In hope to find the time to build a few new tracks in the next month. I made some interesting textures with the Eurorack waiting to be layered with some synth drones.
Nice droning... o.k. maby al little bit long... i like this metallic mixed sounds much.
Everything under 3 hours is ambient punk rock ;-) But seriously: Thank you. Guess there are some people out there who let it drone for hours while sleeping or working.
I'm working on sound for a story, which means I won't listen to all this until the workweek. But always enjoy the long drones put together like this.
Happy soundcrafting! :)
🖤
Thank you :)

Thanks a lot :)
Martin, this track is a sonic exploration like no other. The sounds you've created are so unique and innovative. Your attention to detail is truly inspiring.
Thank you very much. :) Yeah, I had a lot of fun with this one.
Nice sound!!
Thank you, Paul :)
Imagine growing up in a house and Martin was your dad. Dad shall we go for a bier or Watch the match?.......Nah lets just make some noises Son.
:)
Now that is what I call a dark ambient drone. Nice one Martin keep them coming.
Thank you, Anthony. I am a little more into drones again - there should be something new on the way. And there are a lot of old drones to re-release :)
Gorgeous atmosphere on this... lovely work Martin !
Thank you :) (Winter is coming!)

Hey Martin, another blast from the past and great to hear it. 10K views is awesome I stopped worrying about subs they come in their own time. I have not released much over the last 6 months yet still I was getting some subs. I start to release stuff again and get less subs! Luck of the draw and all that with the algorithm.
Yeah, I guess there is a lot of randomness with Ambient tracks. I absolutely cannot predict whether a track will get 10 or 1000 views. (It is easier with tutorials ;-) ). I am still here to have some fun and to connect with other ambient enthusiasts. That is worth a lot.
Beautiful! Which instruments?
I don’t remember - for sure my Guitar. And I think Arturia Pigments and Vital. (Didn’t find the Logic Project to look up which synths I actually used...)
🖤🖤🖤
Thank you :)
Can you take clock out from the patchbay this way? Or is there a way to replicate midi clock in ?
If I remember correctly you can do that with the Assign output: th-cam.com/video/LMUrX_sv54I/w-d-xo.html
Avoid watching TH-cam Videos of synths, make music instead
This track is a dark, atmospheric masterpiece. The soundscape is both unsettling and captivating. You've nailed the dark ambient aesthetic perfectly.
thank you for your kind comment - much appreciated!
