Moses - The Reluctant Leader - A Walk Through The Bible #17
Moses is one of the most dominant figures in scriptures. Through him, God rescues Israel, establishes them as a nation, and dispenses an all-encompassing law to the new nation.

Paul tells us what we have to do or believe to get saved be justified declared Righteous by christs righteousness imputed to us, the word trust believe and faith are interchanged for folks like you who like to redefine the word faith ! Ephesians 1 : 13-14 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, 14Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. so we trusted the gospel and believed we were sealed with the holy spirit until redemption day ! all by trust /belief / faith in the gospel revealed to Paul which is 1Corinthians 15:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: death burial and resurrection when you trust that your saved sealed , justified ! Acts 13:38-39 Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: 39And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses. Titus3:5 He saved us, not by the righteous deeds we had done, but according to His mercy, through the washing of new birth and renewal by the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. Philippians 3:9 and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith. Romans1:17 For the gospel reveals the righteousness of God that comes by faith from start to finish, just as it is written: “ The righteous will live by faith.” Romans 4:5 But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness, Romans 4:6 And David speaks likewise of the blessedness of the man to whom God credits righteousness apart from works: Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: Romans 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him… Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans8:1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus Romans 8:39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. 2 corrin 5:19 For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.

Correct. The term to Titus "dividing" literally implies to dissect. The root words indicate a true precision that is required when associating the older scriptures to the message of the gospel. (Expounding) As I said, I believe we are saved through faith. I do not dispute that our works do not save us. However, the doctrine that cuts out obedience to God as part of His plan does a disservice to His word. James addresses that same issue. "Faith without works" applies to everyone's faith.

Interesting. Gentiles were baptised in Acts 10. Jesus Himself requires baptism. James dispels any notion that faith alone is satisfactory before God. I'm not telling you that baptism saves you. My message is that the false doctrine of not making it part of God's plan of salvation is a disservice to the Word and perhaps to those seeking salvation. It's plain and if your pastor needs to drag you around to verses taken out of context to make that doctrine work, I would reconsider. I've studied both sides. That's how I got here. In Acts 7, Stephen calls Him “the angel”… now it makes more sense as to why in John 14 Jesus says “if you love me you will keep MY commands”(v15 and v21). …with the way that the Bible fits together, it’s easy to see how Jesus was there from the beginning.

Evolution is the fundamental basis for biology, germ theory, genetics and so on. The only reason anyone denies a scientific theory(the gold standard in science) is because it conflicts with their dogmatic beliefs. You wouldn’t deny atomic theory or gravity. Even if all of science abandoned it-it doesn’t get anyone anywhere closer to god(s) that magically whispered everything into existence. I’m not buying you were ever an atheist. Maybe agnostic going through a phase where you weren’t going to church. A true skeptic wants to believe as many true things as possible. Faith is believing in things that aren’t evidently true. Looking for natural reasons that explain the reality around us makes more sense than magic. Thanks for sharing, you’re not a biologist but claim to know more than biologist because of an old book that monopolizes death and a god that cursed man because. The Bible was written by people and people put it together and chose to leave out what didn’t fit in. It’s not like people weren’t aware of the Old Testament stuff when writing the New Testament. One last thought. Why do Christian’s project their own flawed reasoning onto others? You suggested science is wrong because it changes. It’s true. We learn more things and revise ideas and sometimes dismiss them when a better model comes along that can predict things better. The Bible says a cow will be colored by what type of sticks it’s looking at while breading. We now know that’s ridiculous yet people claim it’s inerrant while it’s clearly full of errors. Best of luck

You don’t seem to have a deep understanding of the topics you are trying to cover. Evolution can be seen and demonstrated in fast-reproducing species like bacteria, insects, and even dog breeds. Additionally, evidence first past evolution can be seen through fossils, homologous structures, vestigial organs, and ontogeny recapitulating phylogeny. As for Biblical authors’ being in agreement: I challenge you to write a coherent story out of the four Gospels.

    • @appliedbible

It is evident I am no scholar. But I am not convinced of what I am told to believe about how we have to interpret long dead animals. Similar structures prove nothing, other than it happens. Similar with organs, the conclusion is a jump and not a demonstrated test/experiment. It fits the pretext. Similar with your last point. The theory will always be a work in progress, untested and without true experimental demonstration. It is well thought out and presented. I will give it that. And I would also say that we may believe whatever we wish. Free will is a reality regardless of the opposite opinion of some.

How would you explain whale skeletons containing the remnants of leg bones? Why would God create them to have leg bones? One piece of evidence is not enough to justify a claim, but there is so much evidence for evolution it is considered a theory. You don't seem to understand what a theory is. Scientific theories aren't untested hunches as used in normal parlance. A hypothesis needs to meed a high threshold of evidence to be considered a theory. Do you understand what a homologous structure is? They aren't outwardly similar, but are composed of altered forms of the same basic parts, suggesting they were modified over time. You seem to regard not being educated as a badge of honor when in reality, you're uninformed. I ask again, can you make the 4 Gospels into one coherent story? You said the Bible writers all agree, yet we have Jesus saying "Love thy neighbor" and in Numbers 31 we have God instructing his troops to take sex slaves.

We might read the accounts looking for differences to point to "contradictions." If we are searching with good intent, just wanting to learn that is equitable. If we only look to discredit, we waste our own time. The gospels are written from four different perspectives and are presented with specific audiences in mind. If I hold a banquet and one person tells you who was there and another person tells you something a little different are they conflicting? Difference in who went or how many there were or what was said. If you think these details are a matter of perspectives then you're desperate to deny contradiction.
