Good stuff , Tony. Woodland can be tough but I think a good exercise for the eye. I’m not a professional like you are and I’m learning a lot from your vids. I only have an A7iii, so I’m glad you said 20 megapixels is all you need. Still, would like that A7rV but wouldn’t we all hahaha! Keep up the good work!
Thank you Lenz, the A7III is a very fine camera; don't upgrade! Spend it on travel or something instead. And yes, woodland is a good exercise for the eye.
@@tonyhowellcouk thank you!
Wide open was my big new idea in 2019.
Thanks One eyed. So what's your big new idea in 2024?
Another great video, I have learned how to use the straighten the verticals 👍
Thanks Kelvyn, yes the transform tool saves me taking out a tilt/shift lens. Keep those trees straight!
Woodlands are the place to be at this time of year when the leaves take on their rich autumnal hues. Great video Tony and excellent advice 📷👏👏🍂
Thanks Glyn, so glad you liked it!
I love walking in the woods and taking photos, great tips Tony, thanks.
Thanks John!
I completely agree with point 4 mentioned at the end.
Thanks Piotr, and yes I need to follow that point more often!
Superb woodland photography advice. Thanks. Have a nice weekend 👍🙂🌳
Thank you Stig, and you!
New subscriber and enjoying the content very much 👏👏
Thanks Andrea; much appreciated!
I really enjoyed this Tony, every image gorgeous and the music so restful. Last year I went here, but I was too scared of hurting myself to walk over the beach pebbles so didn’t get far. I doubt if. I will try again so seeing your images was extra special
Thanks Deborah, so glad you liked it!
12:15 Interesting horizon.
Ha ha yes, 20mm vlogging lens, quite distorted!
Hi Tony just came across your channel, lovely landscape photography and very informative, been out of photography for a while slowly getting back into it. Down in Cornwall over the Xmas period staying at Portloe hope to visit some of the places you’ve shown us. Keep up the good work Tony
Thanks Tony, I appreciate that. I'll hope for good weather for both of us then!
Lots of tips in this video. BTW there are such things long socks with waterproof linings! Well done, Tony. 👍
Ha ha thanks Peter. I'll look into those, but I'll also just try to avoid deep water!
Another wonderful video and again more ideas and suggestions to try - thank you
Thanks Ian, yes it's a useful one to try now and again.
9:49 May I suggest Steart Point on a winter's day, with a high tide - clouds of Knot and Dunlin, with Burnham Lighthouse in the background.
Good idea Ian, and I'm at Burnham-on-sea for Christmas!
Great pictures!! Xxx
Very kind, thanks Rain.
Yeyyyy a video on clouds! I love clouds too and I’d love to learn to photograph them properly xx
Thanks Rain; it's all about the composition!
Thank you for an interesting and thought provoking video. I'm pleased that you did choose to go out and make the video.
Thanks Mr CB, me too!
Ah....the old water in the wellies trick! I know it well 🤣
Ha ha yes Bill; but twice in a week? I'm losing it!
Hi Tony , I like your video for good photography tips. Go for it ! 👍
@@Steve_Xue Thank you Steve, appreciated.
Hi Tony, that was quite a tour around. 2 weeks today and I’ll be on my way visiting some your recommended locations, trying all sorts including shallow DoF
Thanks Deborah, I'm sure you'll have fun. Don't let the weather put you off!
Hi Deborah, I'm now doing photo workshops at only £98 for 3 hours if you wanted to meet up whilst you're down here - please see www.tonyhowell.co.uk/photographytuition
Hi Tony and thanks for posting such an interesting video. I find shallow d-o-f landscapes need a simple, clean, compelling foreground subject similar in many respects to taking a portrait. Too busy and for me it doesn't work. Just my two bobs worth. Thanks for making me think a bit harder.
Thanks Trevor and you've made a very good point.
Brilliant. We used to have a caravan at Perranporth next to the golf course, what a place for sunsets
Thanks Peter, yes you're right I love it up there. Perhaps I should live up there in a caravan!
Another great video, I was out talking photos of waves crashing against a pier, didn't see one coming from the side of me, came right over me, i got soaked through lol
Thanks John, sounds like you needed more than just a spare pair of socks!
Thanks Tony, another lovely vlog from glorious Cornwall . Like that you come over as just as yourself and great photography tips too.
Thanks Paul, yes it's unscripted garble sometimes but genuine!
you have been busy this last few weeks Tony
Ha ha yes indeed Mark!
Take care of that hand with its neat embroidery. Oh and I loved your 1963 hat
Thanks Deborah, it's doing well. But that 1963 hat was terrible!
Merci
Merci pour votre commentaire!
@@tonyhowellcouk très apprécié!
Went back and watched this. Amazing and "clean" scenes and compositions!!
Thanks Stig! Yes it pays to go back to a location often.
@@tonyhowellcouk 🙂👍
Awesome videos mate. I’ve even subscribed 👍🏼
Thanks Eek, much appreciated.
I don't have a smart shirt.....so that's one off the check list! Great advice, Tony.
Ha ha thanks Bill, Wise move, who wants to do ironing?!
Good to see a Royal Mail Van
Yes indeed Zarrow!
Great images. I love your choice of locations, and just don’t know why you don’t have many many more followers. You give such sensible straight forward advice etc. I’d love to visit your Bodmin locations but fear it might be too much of a trek for me physically.
Thanks Deborah, The Cheesewring's not hard to get to but has rough terrain. But it's a fair way from Portreath! Rough Tor is more difficult.
A very enjoyable watch Tony, loving the Snow shots , and keep up the great work. Cheers.
Thanks Iain, yes I'm glad I made the effort as it doesn't snow often here.
Great photos here 👍🙂
Thanks you Stig; much appreciated!
@@tonyhowellcouk 👍
Fantastic images, tony
Thank you so much John!
Im down in Cornwall in November and hope to get a image or two around Truro, thanks to you film of the city. Great film as ever.
Thanks Peter, yes, head to that Truro car park early one morning, it's great!
Thank you Peter, just heard that the car park has closed it's top floors 😒. Try high tide near Boscawen Park, great there.
@@tonyhowellcouk Thanks for the info update Tony
Wonderful images Tony and many congratulations on reaching over 1k subscribers. You deserve it and more besides. We have some amazing photographic locations up here in North Wales where I live but I do love Cornwall; such a magical place. October is a great month for photography as the light is so much better than that of the summer, much more subtle 📷👏🥇
Thanks Glyn, I really appreciate your comments. I too am fond of North Wales, but don't travel much these days as you may have noticed!
Magical places and photography. Really liking the infrared look. Is that a filter? How do you do that if you don’t mind me asking?
Thanks! Ask away Lenz; it was a proper conversion done to my Canon 5DMkII. No filters. Costs about £500 to convert a camera. Great effect isn't it? More at www.tonyhowell.co.uk/infrared-photography.htm
Nice video and images 👍
Thank you Len! Next week's video is 'Shallow Focus in Landscape Photography'.
Those rocks look amazing! I’m not familiar with Bodmin.😊
Yes they are Jess, well worth a visit if you want to blow the cobwebs away 🙂
The great landscape images and your shooting suggestions ! 👍
Thank you Steve! Next week's video is 'Shallow Focus in Landscape Photography'.
@@tonyhowellcouk Hi Tony , I will look forward to it .
@@Steve_Xue Thanks.
I think this may be the 2nd time I’ve watched this, but no problem, I’m staying in Portreath in 3 weeks time so plan to visit some of your recommendations
Thanks Deborah, I'll be hoping for good weather for both of us!
Ding Dong Tony you delivered another great informative video with a great vibe. Keep it coming shame you not on the BBC. Lovely stuff thank you.
Thanks Simon I appreciate your comments. Yes, it is a shame I'm not on the BBC when they pay people like Fiona Bruce £400,000 a year!
Great video, that's one thing I haven't tried, is long exposure photography.
Thanks John, do give long exposures a try; they're good fun.
Great video Tony, interesting thoughts on long exposures, only 2 more subs to go, keep going….
That's good news, thank you Simon!
Nice! 🙂
Thanks FlatWater!
Good balance in the moving water shots Tony, like you I don't like it too milky on rivers or water falls. You deserve more subscribers for sure.
Thank you Iain, much appreciated. Perhaps I should try making a video out of Cornwall!
Great video Tony , keep em coming ,already a subscriber .
Good to know, thank you Alan, much appreciated.
Wonderful to see your videos again, I am very lucky to be not far from Golitha Falls and Autumn is definitely my favourite time of year to photograph them even if it can be very muddy around the edges and paths.
Thank you Ian, much appreciated. Yes, it's already muddy!
great phohos tony
Thank you Paul, much appreciated.
