Large swell Kiama Blow Hole -31st July 2024
A quick one-minute video from the Kiama Blow Hole today. It was running quite well with some people getting drenched.
Storm season isn't too far away, so hopefully the uploads will eventually become more frequent again. In the meantime, there's a few videos from last season I haven't posted yet so keep a look out for those.

Central Tablelands Lightning- 18th February 2024

Today I chased to the Central Tablelands of NSW north of Lithgow. I got onto some reasonable lightning near the town of Portland and again some more near Kandos. Poor shear meant storms were short lived, and a weak cap saw storms spread out everywhere to complete overcast by mid afternoon. Thankfully the storms in my area were a little more lightning active compared to other areas.

30th November 2023- On this day I storm chased into the Central West Plains of NSW, near Tottenham. A photogenic severe storm rolled in from the Northwest putting on some pretty colors and lightning.

Christmas day 2023 saw severe storms with some giant hail on the Tablelands and Slopes, but a work day until 6pm meant no chasing for me until the evening. Luckily there was enough instability for storms to build towards the coast, unfortunately anywhere near the escarpment was dripping in low cloud obscuring much of the lightning and structure. The initial storms during the day near Harden NSW became an outflow mess and I had to make do with lightning within the rain. Further storms exploded 150kms for my west after dark on the Southwest Slopes and I bolted west to intercept. This payed off producing some amazing branchy lightning, and i'm glad I nailed one great photo.

A slow moving trough produced storms on the Southern Tablelands and South coast in the evening and overnight hours of Dec 8 and 9. The quality cloud to ground lightning was the highlight.
Goulburn lightshow- 11th November

Some lightning around Goulburn, a couple of average bolts and crawlers. Not going to talk it up and hope for a viral 55 views. Unfortunately got onto the lightshow too late to do it any sort of justice, too much rain and lightning too random. The bolts at the end of the video were near Nowra. Bureau had Goulburn at just 5% chance of precipitation today.

The 9th of November saw us chasing into Central West NSW. A line of storms developed to our west on a dry line. Initially moisture starved these storms soon tapped into a better moisture environment with one storm becoming briefly severe. Today I chased with Ozthunder. We got a high based storm on the dry line. Some nice lightning near Boomi NSW including a couple of great bolts! The base lowered a little and became rippled but merged into a complex of thundery rain. This was day 2 of our 3-day chase trip into Queensland. Today's slow-moving storms produced a significant amount of cloud to ground lightning, impressive for what is technically still winter. 4k video time-lapse of some impressive supercell structure that rolled over Wandandian bringing giant hail. This was one of many impressive storms in eastern NSW and QLD on this day, with both states experiencing a rare mid-autumn supercell outbreak. This video also includes some nice cgs and crawlers from a rather lightning active squall line that impacted Wollongong after dark.

27th January 2023 The capped environment eventually gave to storms in the evening. The initial storms had nice high bases but struggled to make cgs. Towards nightfall the cg and crawler rates improved, and it was a pretty good lightshow despite the annoying rain making things difficult. Nice storm, nice fairly open area, but as we know road network is a bit ordinary, like that dust and it was not 100% outflow at times
Thanks mate. The countryside finally opens up a little north of Tottenham,was lucky to just sit in the same spot for an hour and just enjoy the show. The local farmers have had problems with people breaking in lately and they hassled me twice after dark to move into town or another area.
@@michaelkeene3051 same happened a couple of years back on the Tottenham Road. Farmer was worried that if I crossed their fence I may endanger their 'organic' certification.

Nice turquoise glow, can also see dust being picked up. Meanwhile a storm drought for most of the eastern coast
Thanks for commenting and watching! Yeah pretty much three weeks of nothing on the east coast now. Hopefully some upper troughs return in February sometime
@@michaelkeene3051 Hopefully! Not that many springtime storms and summer has been pretty inactive too. SEQLD and NENSW seems to be enjoying a lot of storms though
Another great video, looked like the inflow and outflow were perfectly matched - that dust didn’t know what to do.
Thanks mate, yeah those north east winds were a solid 20kts at times and did a good job at holding back the outflow. There were bigger storms possibly supercell out near Wilcannia but they definitely went down a level or two when they got to my area.

Thanks mate, yeah that one was a nice little surprise. The main storms had cleared off shore, and another tiny one developed right on my head delivering a couple of close ones!
