I definitely regret getting this pod. I don't recommend 'if' you don't like almond extract. I like almond croissants, almond milk, and almonds, but I'm not able to get into this pod. Maybe if I had vanilla or almond syrup but I don't. I probably need to just avoid flavored pods so I can flavor each cup to taste and mood 🤷🏾♀️.
I COMPLETELY understand - I initially thought this pod’s almondy extract flavor would die down with other syrups, but it is VERY prominent even when I pair with creamier milks/syrups!
@@lilizzy428 I tried this pod today with Torani Shortbread and that syrup successfully toned down the almond extract flavor for me 😊. Do you have a preference in the unflavored double espresso: dolce/chiaro/scuro?

@@IcedCoffeeLover33 Sicilia in the espresso version was my fave - it wad intense and had that creamy, dark chocolate-like bitterness. Really good! Emilia was slightly intense but more wheaty, and Aosta was more acidic and slightly more fruity. :)

Oh my gosh! I LOVE mine! I made my son and his fiancé lattes and they said it reminded them of Italy! They had just been there a few months before. Pro tip: I froth the milk first. I have my coffee cup there full of hot water. To preheat the cup firstly, but I also use it to clean the steam wand instead of letting it spray into the bottom thing, it sprays into the hot water in the cup. I think it get's it much cleaner this way. Then I wipe the wand with a wet cloth. Simply dump out the cup, give it a quick rinse, then make the espresso with same cup. So much easier imo. I had been wanting one for a long time but the cost! I got mine for under $300 from Bed Bath & Beyond during a very good sale and of course their wonderful 20% off plus I was a member and got even more off. I lucked out that time. I had also been looking on Marketplace. If you're patient and keep looking for that deal, you'll find it. It's a wonderful machine and of course Nespresso has some great coffees. The drinks I make with this machine are so much better than if I were doing all the work with a regular espresso maker. Of course for some, that is the point and they love the whole process. I do not! 🍮
Oooo I LOVE that you mentioned that trick with the cup! I need to try that - TJ’s been getting more and more into hot cappuccinos, so this machine has been working overtime and I’ll have to use your hack to purge the steam wand haha!😁
I also really like this machine and don’t see myself replacing it anytime soon! It’s just so nice and convenient, especially if you can find a good deal :)

U get 30 pods per pound of whole beans but filling them and hard packing u get 27. Its worth it. Took 20 minutes

For the love of all humanity please listen! The world almost ended because i did not get this right and lucky for you all i had spare ones until i can fix this issue. I refilled 30 of them and unlike me i didnt teat them prior to doing all of them. You must get dark roasted and finer and fill the pod up and pack it down well. Once sealed if you hear it moving ur coffee is gonna be weak and will frustrate you
Thank you for this! Yes depending on the pod you’re filling you need to use espresso ground/finely ground coffee and tamp it very well to get a strong espresso-like brew. It’s not perfect ofc, but it should come out of the pod like a packed espresso puck on a semi-automatic machine!
I have one of those kits. I don’t use it very often because my machine tends to be louder when I use “homemade” pods. So I don’t use them very often.
Yeah I noticed that with mine too! I also notice the pod gets SO much hotter upon taking it out from the machine than pods usually do lol👀

I can tell you your opinion of the frosted caramel nut is the opinion of 100% of the nespresso TH-camrs I’ve watched. They were all So excited for that pod and then, they tried it, and most of them are like it’s good but I don’t get the biscuits notes, or the almond etc.
Yeah I had SUCH great expectations for it cause it sounded so yummy lol - it was fine I just don’t think I would buy it again this holiday season if they offered it!
So, it kind of sounds like Jordan's Skinny Syrups have an unappealing aftertaste in general. I'm new at this and dont want to have a bunch of bottles lying around that I cant use. What brand has little or no aftertaste?
I’ll admit that I really like some of the basic JSS ones (vanilla, hazelnut, white chocolate, salted caramel, and caramel)! I also really like most of Torani’s sugar free syrups, as well as Monin’s. I haven’t tried all of their SF ones, but I think both brands’ aftertastes are fairly mild, especially when paired with creamier milks. I haven’t tried any other SF brands that I know of outside of those, unfortunately. I’m happy to go into detail on certain syrup flavors if you’re wondering about them!! :)
I could smell the maple as it was brewing more than taste it. I couldn’t taste it at all, but I definitely could smell it.
Yes I find that caramel and maple flavors are quite faint and I often can’t make them out in flavored coffees!!🥲
I love this brewed over ice with cold foam made from whole milk. Freshly grated cinnamon on top. YUMMY.

I was so excited to try these when I got them! I know people really like the Hawaii Kona and Jamaican Blue Mountain, but I remember those being my least fave to review of the ones in this haul...I liked the other ones though! <3

Yes! If you want to treat yourself I highly recommend! If you want more flexible pods/non-flavored pods I have a few other pods I’ve been really liking for the summer and hopefully I can get a video going on them soon :)
I'd love to see some more videos trying OL 3rd Party Pods, I am on a really tight budget now and buying Nespresso is way out of the question atm but I love trying new coffees, but I'm often scared to give the amazon ones a try because some reviews on their site are scary, but I realize some people can be really exaggerative but I trust your opinions (please never change)
Absolutely! I’m really hoping to find some 3rd parties I really like too! 😁 I’ve been eyeing the Peet’s, Lavazza, and L’or pods so hopefully I can try them on the channel in the coming weeks and we’ll find some we like!👀

@@lilizzy428 I tried Peet's and Lavazza and L'or when I found them at a discount store for $0.10 a pack and they're pretty good.. now that I can't find deals at all I'm looking at ones like "Rosa" or "3 corações" I've heard from people they're tasty, but then reviews say both good and bad.. I really want to try 3 corações and right now
@@lilizzy428 you're literally the last good Nespresso creator, the rest just do short clips of their drinks, I like how you try the drink black, then with milk sometimes hot and cold, sometimes even Americano (you inspired me to go make an Americano, my first ever) I won't lie it reminded me of an iced tea, but might be because I used a very very light roast from Lavazza

I picked this up along with the coconut to try. Both are good! I really enjoy them especially when the chocolate and golden carmel went right into the trash. 🎉❤
Ugh I know!! The golden caramel one was definitely my least favorite in the barista creations 8 oz. flavored line they released ☹️ I need to pick up another sleeve of the coconut pods this summer! Both that and this almond one will be up there on my summer fave list 😋
The sunny almond one kind of reminded me of macaroons or biscotti. I have only 7.7oz pods so also was my first time trying a smaller size pod. Turned out pretty good. Enjoy it. 🎉
