I'm just a guy that likes to fix stuff. Two things to note. 1) When I call out the diameter of the second drill bit, it's actually a 7/32 bit to bore out the pilot screw (mixture screw) plug. 2) When I say choke gasket I mean o-ring. Please let me know if I missed anything. Also the name of the official name of the float needle sleeve would be great. Thanks and wrench on!

This is my fix for getting the drivers correctly installed on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. If you have already installed the Windows Updates that should include the controller drivers and it still wont install the drivers for your controller then try this solution. I forgot to mention in the video that I am using a PS4 controller charge cable. As long as your usb cable is capable of data transfer...

check the pinion screw on internal gear ,gets loose and you'll lose the entire prop shaft
The pilot screw has the screw spring and o ring then washer

The pilot screw washer did exactly what you said. It came shooting out when I removed a separate part. That is the reason I looked up your video. I had to figure out where it was supposed to go lol. Thank you!

Great video, really appreciate it. I do have a question though. Up near the float there is that chrome hollow pin, where does it go? When I opened my float bowl it fell out like it was just loose in there.
Man I sold that bike years ago but if I remember correctly, that chrome pin is what the float rotates on.

Did you figure out why you were bogging down? My exact same motor is doing the same thing
It was a multi part fix. I ended up removing and disassembling the Vapor Separator Tank, cleaned all the filters inside, and replaced the injectors while I had the intake manifold and fuel rails off. I also found some melted connections on the voltage regulator so I replaced that as well. Runs 100 times better now.
Nice laid out video in detail, I just got a 2000 Marauder VZ800, I want to do as much maitenece myself, is it really difficult to sync the carbs and replace even basic stuff? I can work on scooters and even rebuilt top ends of 150s, It seems that motorcycle are a little more advanced than a scooter, Im hoping I can make the transition, any suggestions for taking care of my 800? Also for the pilot screw, is there any turn type of spec? Everything I’ve read says pre-set. Which to me sounds like snug it up but just curious.
The float level its plastic??
That one is, in the second carby it’s brass and doesn’t move up and down. Different setups in each carby, if you buy a carby kit, you get both carby’s in the one kit. I’m doing it tonight, ;)

Do you have a video removing this rear carb from the bike? I just inherited a 1998 vz 800, been sitting for years and my carb is also spitting gas out of the breather hose. I'm just not sure how to get it off the bike safely.

On the float bowl there is a thing coming off that looks like a hose went there. I have gas coming out when its running could you help me with what to do too fix it
In case you haven't got it yet, that's the fuel drain, tighten the screw that goes in beside it.

Looks equivalent to the one I got off of parts giant. It doesn’t include new floats or diaphragms but everything else fits OE on them.
