Seeburg Main Mechanism Shaft Removal and Cleaning
This video demonstrates how to use the Victory Glass Seeburg Main Mech Tool Kit to drive out the mechanism pin. This pin becomes sticky over time from old lubricants, which will cause the mechanism to not move, load and immediately unload the record (or vice versa), among other issues.

Will this work on a Y100m. Thanks
Sorry it is for just the pinbank models. Not the AY
Thanks for the reply
Does this replace the Tormat unit
This does not replace tormat units. Just for pinbank models.
Excellent video. I just got my first jukebox and will be buying your tool.
Awesome, thank you!
A properly restored jukebox should work for years in a home environment. If you do this to your antique jukebox, you no longer have a collectable antique, you have a frankenstein jukebox. As any serious collector knows, the closer to original any collectable is, the better. If you want a jukebox with solid state amplifiers and control, buy a newer one. I personally own an M 100 C that I recapped 35 years ago. I have never had to do anything but replace the 6L6 output tubes. Once set up and adjusted correctly, they should run for years, unless abused. I just don't get this product and really don't want to knock it, as it looks thoroughly well thought out and constructed. It just seem to me that a through and complete restoration of the original electronics will result in years of enjoyment without damaging the value of these historic machines.
The amplifier can be quickly swapped between the original and solid state with no soldering at all. most our customers save the original in case someone with your feelings buys their box. but seriously, the wait list for someone to work on an amp is long and the people with the shills are retiring or no longer with us. these allow these boxes to remain in peoples houses and be used and loved for years to come. We heard the same thing with the model A cars, why do you have to hot rod them. Now look the majority of people want the hot rods and not an original model A. ITs a changing of way of thought, if you don't care for it, we commend you and your skill, please try and preserve your knowledge, pass it on , teach others, even start a youtube channel. You have a skill that was common that is not as much anymore. Please teach what you know, and lets together keep this hobby alive.
I agree that this does decrease the collectible value of the jukebox, but the good part is that at least the jukebox is now operating, and also, since these are basically drop in components, the original pinbanks, amp, etc. can be saved for someone who can rebuild them.
Thank you for this great vidéo !
Great video Aaron, your wisdom and dogged determination will single handily Keep this jukebox hobby alive.
Great video and tool! Making Jukeboxes Great Again!
Hi Aaron. Nice video. Where can I purchase the cylindrical tool (or rod) you hammered in?

Nice!! Thanks for the video. I will put it to the test no doubt.
Great, simple solution to help find those pesky intermittent selection issues.
Thanks, this guy really helps isolate issues.
Great informative video!
Thanks!
Great idea. This would go well with someone wanting to replace their TSU with one of my Arduino powered replacements I designed and built a few years ago.
Would you do a video like this for a Seeburg 222 ? Or is it all basically the same . Ty
For the Seeburg 222, the Amplifier is very similar, but the solid state Credit unit is an external and much simpler to install. We do not have a Tormat replacement yet, but those are much more reliable than the pinbanks. The 222 was a Tormat and the first stereo jukeboxes. But being the first the amp is quote the bear to rebuild, the solid state stereo amp SSA3 is the way to go.
@@victoryglass Thank you and keep up the good work!
I would love this for my library unit.
I sometimes retrofitted the magnetic trip switch from later Seebs. You are doing jukes a great service Aaron.
Looks like another great product and problem solver! Since installing your Seeburg 350 cartridge in my R, I've had some records jump back instead of cancelling. This may be what I need.
Right on!
Same here, did the electronic trip switch correct your issue?
@@503gabrielle1 Have not tried yet - will make some more adjustments first.

Great video Aaron! Victory Glass totally rocks. I'm a satisfied customer with the solid-state products I have bought so far. Kudos to your electrical engineers and designers!
I take it you didn’t reinstall the coin switch cable. Is it now free play? Is the keyboard latch solenoid continuously energized? TIA.
Our replacement CCU is free play only. It uses the same latch solenoid protection that our Free Play Adapters have had forever, where the latch solenoid is only energized after pressing a button. If only one button is pressed and the selection is not completed after about 12 seconds, the CCU releases the solenoid.
@@aaronschmitt539 Thanks Aaron.
Curious why you don’t really seem to do a whole lot to the selection receiver side. As in rebuild it before plugging it in. Mine actually smokes from that side, the PO showed me exactly where it was frying. So needless to say it at least looks good setting there, but won’t be getting plugged in until I can have that side replaced or rebuilt.
On the pinbank models (M100A, M100B, M100C, HF100G, 100W, HF100R, and 100J), the selection receivers are very simple and usually all original components can remain in place. However, on the models with Tormat memory systems (Model V200 of 1955 and beyond), the selection receivers are much more complicated and will require a rebuild. But we are working on something to address those models as well.
@@victoryglass oh yeah, please do. I’m am not electrically talented, but I can change out parts very well.in the mean time, do you rebuild those original ones?
Nice summary of all the tech you have available for that machine. I have been enjoying the SSA in my R. I use my box more often since it was installed.
Thanks, That's great, glad you're enjoying it. I too am using my Continental 2 more often.
Could this be retrofitted to an L100 mech, if the control center was also changed to an earlier unit that uses the pinbank memory unit? I have an L100 with the modules missing, and wonder if this could be made to work. Thanks!
Those are great machines, and a major issue is the AMP modules. We are actively working on a replacement solid state amp, but you will still need to build new selection receiver boards. we have them unpopulated at victory glass. 86-6708 as well as PCB mount sockets. These boards are all known as fire hazards and should be replaced, so your going to need to get this board no matter what.
I recently bought the full manual package from you folks. The Q100 Seeburg
Aaron, Do you plan to make one for the Ds160?
The DS160 uses a solid state memory called Tormat, really ahead of its time. We are still on the fence making replacement for those. Not nearly as troublesome as pinbanks. send us a contact on our website and ask to be put on the list if we do, that always helps gauge interest in products.
Love it. Would love to see you guys do some more stuff for the 70s seeburgs
Stay Tuned! something is coming out soon you will like, follow us on Facebook to keep in the loop with new products.
This is a shame these machines are being digitized
Just got the new amp tweeter and keys in canada ....thanks cheers boys
Awesome, keep the music playing!
Aaron, Do I need to buy you a pair of wire strippers and side cutters?
Yes you will need to be able to cut and then strip the wires from the contact block for the frog board. We do carry a nice combo tool 49-7165. But truthfully a tool you will find handy to have around.
The modern frictionless Tormat. Love it!
I love how in another 70 years new owner looking at 3 wires doing nothing all puzzled lol Hope to order mine next week!
Let’s hope they find the logo and search it. Maybe the instructions will still be out there.
This is great! It makes me confident I can do the job. Is there going to be a specific video for the HF100R model? Or will the differences be covered well enough in the provided instructions?
The differences will be in the instructions. There’s some extra wiring included for the R and J mech lights.
I justpicked up this prototype from a gentleman who father worked for Seeburg. It has the amp but after a man gets it workingfor us we are going to send audio through our enter. We had a unit before and sold it. It appears the gentleman I bought this from has everything except the knobs. Does Victory Glass have the dial knobs availabl and the key for the latch. There is no number on the lock that I can find.
The prototype is the amp inside the library unit. Not the unit. Many of these were made. We don’t have knobs. But we have a front key. Use the contact us form on the page and Jim will help you get the right front door Key
very good video i have my name on your list to get one hope i can get it soon
Love it
Fun video to watch, Aaron. I'm putting this product on my wish list!
Please do!
Excellent Video. I Will definitely be buying one!
Hope you enjoy it!
Do you have plans for a Q version ? I just recived the amp and I hope to cleanup my workspace soon :) Keep up the awesome work !
Currently we do not make a replacement for the format in the Q. But we have discussed tackling the tormat system.
@@victoryglass Wow, I got the amp in and going. You took a juke with 160 selections and made it infinite ! I used to turn it on just to show it off. Now I turn it on to listen to Pandora all day. Just incredible ! TY !
this is great i love it!! is there a waiting list??
Yes contact out sales either by the contact form or a call. And we will get you on it. Victoryglass.com
Some people may not know that this plant still exists and is occupied with several businesses including: a wedding event venue, a brewery/restaurant, a chocolate factory & shop, a home goods/crafts store, a plumbing store, a dog day care center and many others. It also has several antique car shows during the summer on the grounds and is a great place to visit.
That’s awesome. I’ll have to visit sometime.
🎶💙This is awesome.
It reminds me of the tv show Happy Days and the jukebox they had like that at Arnold’s 👍👍✌️✌️🎉🎉🎊🎊
Would love to see the install like the SS amps!
Thanks, once the final version is all done we will be doing a full install video. This video was demonstrating the last prototype to announce it. Stay tuned!
Wow, just WOW!
I hate optical audio tracks I'd rather have a little noise but without any further distortion.
Neat!
Sad by the late 1940's wood was mostly replaced by plastics and aluminum and most of these craftsmen were furloed out. I owned a 1938 #600 playing 78’s back around 1955 and the wood box was still flawless, just had to do a varnish refinish and it looked new. HiFi ?? had just one speaker-- a giant 15" electro-dynamic with lots of 60~ hum so knocked out the speaker coil and an LA magnet company managed to fit in an Alnico permanent magnet and it was good to go. Most audio amplifier tubes were early 2-digit types like 30, 45, 80 etc and readily available from surplus stores.
QUALITY DOESN'T COST, IT PAYS!!
Near by was Melody Fair, a round building where top names in show business would put on shows!! Its no longer there!! It was a circle shaped building!! Some other places call it circle in the round!!
My mother, betty finley and her sister virginia finley worked thete during the WW11. I knew Frank Neddy he tested organs by playing 3 songs by ear, and that he would hit every note on the organ!! These were king in sound!!
That is an awesome connection you have. I'm glad you enjoyed these 16mm films!
