@engin3ar is it a video editor mod, or some other game play back software? Would love to record my new world when 2.0 releases.

@@engin3ar even at 1:14 ? That portion looked like a static camera position and zoomed out to see the progress. I've heard of other games having a playback feature where you record the map but never thought to look into something like that till your video. Side note, I also have about the same amount of time in the game as you and find it cool to see someone else's perspective who has so little time in the game and not the multi thousands of hours like most other factorio youtubers.

@@Silv3rDragon oh, I understand your question, I apologize for misunderstanding, that clip is one from the developer. I'm not sure if it would be possible to recreate something like that or what method it would involve. Regarding the time, you're right, it is my most played game on steam, which I know is not saying much given the context of how many people have played this game for thousands of hours. I have really enjoyed this game though and just wanted to share some basic information about it in a short video for people who might have never heard of it. Thanks for your comment

That's cool to hear, I really haven't taken advantage of that but I notice a lot of comments about various mods in the game. There's a good argument for Factorio being the ideal desert island game, it just goes on forever when you consider the depth of mods.

You're right about the protagonist, very weird body proportions. The static map is a non-issue as far as I'm concerned because it is so large.

Some people get really spooked about the spiders also. Compared to Factorio though Satisfactory is a calm joy!

I think it is comparable to Civilization, in terms of the pacing, the divisions on the map and resource allocation, the clan options, the non-combat related win conditions which are like Civ, and there are other similarities like the pace of the game which is much slower than an RTS like Warcraft. I haven't played Endless Legend, so not sure what that is. I agree about the campaign, it just didn't hold my interest, but I've had a lot of fun playing online with friends. The Devs said that there won't be any sales on Factorio, ever. But if the game sounds appealing then you will love it and it's worth every penny :)

I hadn't heard that criticism at all actually, most of the criticism I've seen is either that the maps aren't worth $10, the new guns are available without the DLC, and the devs apparently haven't fixed some bugs which people care about. $10 seems pretty fair to me considering only one person in your group even needs to buy the DLC for everyone to play it.

Good call, finish Factorio first. If you take a break from Factorio it might mess with your progress! When you get to Northgard I think you'll enjoy that also.

Yeah, I know that is amateur hour compared to many others! But I do have a huge library (over 1k) so it's more like time distributed among many titles.

How were Krastorio and Industrial Rev 3, which did you prefer?

@@engin3ar IR3 indeed. All these new metallic assets and sounds were really almost fantastic. Although IR3 also has a steep curve, I found it better (at least for me). Krastorio also feels good, but especially at the beginning I think you have to adjust a lot more than in IR3. The yield of the miners alone feels much lower. If you're used to Vanilla, you have a lot to do :) Both really great addons, absolute emo recommendation! Tip for beginners: Patience is the key to success.

@@yarincool1237 fair point! My main basis of comparison is Factorio which Satisfactory is heavily inspired by. Factorio is even more grueling!

Nah fr, it’s surprising that on average it takes 10-15 hours to finish the *tutorial* I only had the patience to push through 2 hours… oh buddy did I learn quick why the tutorial was that long

@@engin3ar making me feel better about my 100+ hour game time… then again I leave the game open in the background while I calculate inputs/outputs in an excel spreadsheet before I restart the game after realizing I did something wrong

Did you continue on the same save or restart? I restarted so many times, probably 20x until l eventually stuck with one factory and made it to the rocket launch.

@@engin3ar I actually stuck it out and made it all the way through. Then I went down the dark path of using mods and infinity chest to build unrealistic bases.

Definitely, I think it took me 50 hours to beat it the first time and that factory was very sloppy.

@@davidwilkerson1904 factorio has really improved its appearance since it exited early access but it definitely harkens back to red alert. Distinctly brown and green color palette and 90s RTS aesthetic.

When I made this I had around 200 hours in the game which I knew was nothing compared to many! Tremendous depth to Satisfactory, really looking forward to the 1.0 release with a proper ending.

Yep! Over 600 hours in my first factory, and ready to invest double that on September 10th when 1.0 releases. 😁

Just checked mine, with Early Access and Experimental I have just over 1500 hours in the game. Managed to slog though the endgame a little while back and now just waiting for 1.0 to start all over again. Tried out Plus and it's just too much.

I haven't played that before, is it worth checking out?

No doubt. It is long enough to not feel completely trivial but not so long that the joke gets old.
