Is the Audi RS6 (C7) a compromise too far or the do-it-all supercar estate? || 2014 Audi RS6 Review
For a long time many have considered the Audi RS6 to be the magic do-it-all performance car, but I've always wondered if extreme straight line speed and the potentially compromised ride quality would feel worth it in the long run after you've got over the speed and the very high running costs have set in. So I drove one to find out!

Is 'The baby GT3' as great on real-world public roads? || Porsche Cayman 981 GT4 Review
มุมมอง 11K21 วันที่ผ่านมา
We're nearly a decade on from the 981 Cayman GT4 blowing away the motoring press and reaching ridiculous values and at this point there's no debate whether this is a superb car or not. But I'm a believer in slow car fast is typically the most fun philosophy for the public road and I've always had my doubts that a car that can do 85mph in 2nd gear with track-focused suspension would *actually* b...
Is this sub-£30k Porsche rival a STEAL or a bargain for a reason? || Lotus Evora S Review
มุมมอง 68Kหลายเดือนก่อน
When it comes to 2 2's and TRUE sportscars with usability our minds are always cast to Porsches, or for US audiences we lean towards muscle cars that have a better focus on the daily usability. But most of us associate Lotus as being a hardcore-only brand where daily usability is incredible compromised. But we seem to forget the Lotus Evora exists most of the time, and so I couldn't have been m...

We've all heard the echo chambers of what we expect a DMC DeLorean to be like, but after 40 years of restoration, and most lovingly so, are any of the original burdens/weak points even going to be applicable today? And have we been repeating unkind words because of how it compared to peers of the time rather than how they drive today? Let's find out! Please do thank and watch Gez's frankly PERF...
Should you *actually* spend £6000 on Mazda MX-5 (NC) modifications? BBR Super 200 (& More) Review
มุมมอง 10K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
I've always said the NC (Mk3) MX-5 is all the sportscar you really need but at the same time it's a blank canvas waiting for you to make yours how you want it to be. I'm also a believer that there's only so much money you should typically spend modifying a car 'out of class' before you might as well have bought a different car. My dream package has always been the BBR Super 200 kit as it adds e...
Should You Buy The 'Ultimate Sportscar Bargain' Or Is It Cheap For A Reason? || Porsche Boxster 986

Great review, standard RS6s come with Air and upgraded is DRC (dynamic ride control) which my Nardo C7.5 has. I love my RS6 and it’s a dream car. They suffer with a few more little niggles but all motors do.
I drove one a while back, and the only downside was the turbo lag.
Cuz in England is always raining ☔️🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Drive a modern Lotus on a track, hard, for any length of time and you'll find out why Porsches are so much more popular.
The only time "more room for things to go bad" has ever been desireable.
Really great overview of a awesome car. Some really good detailed info, like the wheels etc that I haven't come across in other videos.
I wish we had British used car prices in America. That car would be double the price over here.
Whenever I see a gorgeous fast estate car like this I just wanna bin the massive rims and rubber band tyres and put a chunky wheel & tyre combo on instead. They always look one pothole or curb away from complete destruction. Cars beautiful though, you can feel the torque through the screen.
Thank you, great video.
I just watched your review: well done! All aspects of RS6 ownership well summarized. After a few RS models, we now own a Sepang blue RS6 C7 for years. Fortunately, we don't have to ask ourselves about a real sports car next to it, because we own those (me being a lucky idiot). As an "only vehicle" for a petrolhead, the RS6 is fairly good. Sound, looks, but also comfort and practicality are given with this car. As an alternative to the RS6 C7 as an “only car”, I see an RS4 B8 or B7, M5 F90 or a new M3 touring. But I agree with you: A slightly cheaper everyday car and a real sports car (under 1500 kilos, 300 hp upwards) are - if you have to look a bit more at the budget - the better solution for a petrolhead. Anyway: Thanks for the review!
Great channel.
Another thorough, balanced, real-world review from Jimmy. He deserves a far, far bigger audience.
Thank you so much, Andy! Very kind words!
Yes they are truly great iconic cars, but they still swap ends at the slightest of wet surfaces when turning, unless you're a trained professional race car driver. Don't they ?
The rear reminds me of my favorite Volvo, the C30
I loved my C30! It was just a comfy 1.6 D2 SE from memory but I adored every journey in it!
@@petrolpoodle I love the manual variant of the C30. In the states at least they didn't sell well, but I'm hoping for a manual c30 or a v60 in the future, i have a 2015 Lincoln MKZ right now
Porches-nothing special see them everyday typical with middle aged to old white guys thinking it’s something special. Even worse are they are in boosters or caymans not even the 911 but does it matter they all look the same a flattens vw beetle. Worse is they look exactly the same for the last 3 decades. So any Lotus would be preferred over porche. Don’t get me started on the fugly Porsche SUV’s get a Trackhawk but again even a Laredo is a better buy than any “sport suv” there is no need for soccer kids with their spoiled moms to be in an suv that will never see a gravel road.
Nice review! These cars are studies in engineering and that carries a certain appeal.
Thank you John, and I can see why - they're bloody impressive!
This channel is so underrated
Massive thank you 😊
Amazing as always. Would love to see a V10
Noted!
No alternative 911, it is a Lotus and a glorious car in its own right.
Good video, but i settled on the BMW i8. It has similar power for a much smaller engine (1.5ltr, plus electric). 0-60 in 4 seconds 4 wheel drive Rear seats (at a push) Amazing handling around 50-70mpg Free road tax Cheap(ish) insurance If you want a drive of mine for your channel, then get in touch.
Excellent review, I have to agree with your comments about the 911, you can't beat them! 🤣
😂 One day we will successfully coincide our cars working and get the damn review sorted! 😂
@@petrolpoodle we certainly will!
I would do unforgivable things to have the stinger sound like this 😂! Gorgeous car, and great review of it too! Can totally see why this in many cases is the perfect one car all rounder, if you've got the ability to handle it's running costs.
Unfortunately the video doesn't do it justice, it sounds incredible.
😂 😂 😂 😂 It's just epic, you'd love it! I still think the both of you should do a car swap for a week 😂
Had an awesome day with you guys, Jimmy. thank you so much for doing such an incredible job with the video. makes me want to go out and drive it right now!
Thanks Matthew. It's such a cool car, a real icon of our generation. Make sure you stay in touch, let us know what comes next. Ben
I had THE best time, bloody brilliant day and just a huge thank you again!
It’s an M2 comp for me.
Do you like the looks of a 2016 S60CC awd? Just curious.
We got the 2017 plug-in hybrid. Excellent car when it works, but we've had a few issues with the hybrid system. Usually it just resets itself and works again, but today the car just gave out and shut down on a grocery store parking lot. Would not start and gave me a bunch of errors. Really hoping it's just an issue with the 12V battery and not the hybrid battery. The car is 7 years old now so the small battery giving out would be more likely. Hopefully that's it. Finnish weather is known to cause some issues on these hybrid cars. If the hybrid battery is cooked, we're screwed.
As a brightonian buying one of these it’s nice to hear from someone who owns one in a stop start city… thank god my commute is filthy B roads 😍
To forget the Evora exists some of the time is to forget that the Evora sometimes doesn't exist.
evora and emira are solid cars
Casio F-91W on your wrist??? Proper gentleman.
interesting. I have a (USA) 2014 NC# w/ a button on the boot.
I had one for three years... Literally nothing went wrong with it. Utterly dependable, knew it would start every time. However, it just wasn't that loveable. Nothing to hate either. It's a great car for a lot of people - definitely for those who want a car to do the job of getting from A to B.
Romero 4C way better.
In what way? Have you driven them both? I love the 4C, but would I trust it?
I just bought 3 door one, I LOVE it, but, I have really long legs and find the seat a tad short. Only gripe. I bloody love this car.
A series 1 986s boxster will out perform most new porsches on the market today, the reason being its light has a mid engine , it's to fast for the uk roads and no frilly bits in the cockpit.
Nobody cares about golf clubs why don't you measure it with fishing rods
I guess with Golf, less fish get tortured?
What is dilf spec is dilf the same as milf but daddy
High quality for the price. Certainly wouldn’t call it luxury, though.
Unfortunately these are about double the price in the US and all of the "cheap" ones have automatic transmissions.
Man, for real. I went to check while watching the videos. Assuming £30k is about $38k, then 5 have *ever* sold on BaT, and 4 of those were pre-2020. Doug & Bids has sold 2 under that price, and the cheapest I found currently for sale on a non-auction site is $48k.
It does surprise me the difference in values of the same cars across the world. I have a 986, almost worthless now in the UK, go over to europe and its a 10k car!
Ya gotta get two for parts.
Hey, what you doing stuck in 1970?
Oh my god the paint looks so good
I have a 2015 981 base and for me it’s quick enough for UK roads and keeping your licence. It’s my kinda semi daily and does everything I need it to. When you said about the GT4 and 200 less BHP it would still be fun well my base is 275 BHP So kinda what you meant. Try it. 👍🏻
I kind of feel the same about my little 986 2.5. I mean, how fast do you really need to go. Even my old BMW 330 felt too quick!
If the front end didn’t look like a Peugeot 407 I might’ve liked it 🤦🏼♂️
That's funny, I get what you mean but in person, it just doesn't look like a pug.
The sound reminds me of the 350z - like a trumpet.
I can't say I've driven an e89 but I'm sure they're great. But I did have a 2000 Z3M 'clown shoe' prior to, and the e86 very closely resembles that car in spirit. Not to mention that the style of both is very polarizing, but because of that they seem to age better and command more attention because they just stand out so much! Other than the 'typical' BMW water pump/ cooling system areas which will have to be updated as well as the suspension needing a refresh, the car has been bulletproof (2 years on) taking me on two very long distance road trips completely trouble free! For what it's worth I'm up in Vancouver, Canada and these aren't even sold here (!) so this one's imported from Japan and is right hand drive and unfortunately even though it's not a manual, with the ZF 6 speed auto with paddle shifting it actually is still very quick and very satisfying to drive! So i don't miss rowing nearly as much as i thought i would! Not to mention you can get a bike in the hatch area of one of these things and get mid-thirties in highway mileage! Brilliant. Get one!
Would love to have an Evora here in the US but used prices are $49K-$65K. Why such a huge difference from the UK? On a side note, anyone from the UK want to sponsor or adopt a future American Ex-Pat?
We don't seem to allow foreigners in the country anymore, seems people went a bit odd and cut their nose off despite their face. I don't blame you for wanting to escape, not sure the UK will be much better.
I love the evora S it looks great, sounds good drives great. I went with a TVR T350C in that price range.
My neighbour has one they look really wide. I prefer a boxster at this price.
Big Boxster fan here, did you check out the 986 PP drove?
No haven’t seen it…..yet.
Nice watch 👍🏻
Thanks 👍
You know what they say about Lotus - Lots Of Trouble, Usually Serious.
God that’s so old and someone who doesn’t drive one always says it. I’ve had a Lotus 25 years, easy. Evoras ever easier.
