I'm by no means an expert in electric netting, but the biggest piece of advice I can give is be patient while setting up and tearing down the net. I rotate with net daily to include wooded and brushy areas. For those areas a heavy brush blade on a weed eater is a great tool for cutting a path, same concept as you are doing in open pasture. Keep up the good work. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing your flock develop with the Australian White genetics as I am considering the same program.

One of the biggest issues facing commercial lamb producers in the eastern US is having to compete with hobby farms that don't run their operation as a business. These hobbyists continue to supply the market with lambs at a loss using off farm income to support their project. A significant percentage of lambs sold in the eastern US come from operations that don't need to make a profit to survive.

CDT vaccine should be given to pregnant ewes who have been previously vaccinated and boostered annually 3-4 weeks before lambing. Lambs should be vaccinated at weaning and boostered 3-4 weeks later. You may get by without vaccinating if you are finishing on grass. If you are feeding them on concentrates and they are gaining well, you will probably lose several lambs to enterotoxemia.

I have some questions you need to ask your self. Why TWO bud boxes? And the angle gate fence in the last bud box before the chute was Confusing? Cows are simple minded.

A good listen. I run dorper ewes n lambs. 20 head. I'm no longer have any as Barbers Pole worm, wild called it quits. With the worms 🪱 I spoke to the original breeder who was a vet. His answer tome was, worn today then day 15 then day 30. I then done the same process. It worked and in the control, but we were in a decent drought, Queensland Australia. Then I head you say that you wormed similar at the early stage of their life and the other was rotational grazing. Of recent times I've thought of making a sheep caravan 20'x 8' and housing 6 weaner sheep. Yes worm the same programme then they would be moved everyday. 😊🇦🇺

We have a few that have bred in the first year but historically their lambs are not as large and delicate at birth. I like to wait an additional year and have the new lambs healthy and more developed for better success.
