Replacing the Master Cylinder and "PRE"bleeding the brakes - OBS Project
มุมมอง 8321 วันที่ผ่านมา
First thing I do is remove all the old brake fluid by sucking it out of the reservoir then bleeding the system until new fluid is coming out. Next I remove and replace the Brake Master Cylinder with a new one. I bleed the system first so all the new brake parts will not be contaminated with the old fluid.

    If this was a forced induction like a turbo or super charger I would agree that more fuel would be needed. But this mod allows air to"freely" and "smoothly" flow into the engine and yes more air will get in but not enough to justify more fuel. As stated already, you can do the quarter mod if it makes you feel better but I have done this exact mod without it many times and fuel ratios are fine.

    Just letting more air in without an additional fuel charge does nothing for performance. Money and time well wasted.

      I haven't done any scientific study on it but it does let more air in. There are many reports in forums of an increase in mpg. I unfortunately like the sound of my exhaust too much to test it.

    In my case, my 2001 will lock me out, whether I lock it or not. When it does this it will not respond to the fob or the key. I have to go in through the tail gate and manually open the doors. It will also continually try to lock the doors even if they are already locked. 3 to 4 days of that and the battery is drained.

    I saw you mount a 2 electric fans to your car , I'm wondering is your engine is similar to my Chevy Blazer 1996? It has only 1 mechanical fan.

    • @ShadyJoesGarage
      @ShadyJoesGarage 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Same engine, different computer. My donor truck was a 2001 s10, it had the "411 PCM" and can control dual speed fans. The fans I used, both fans turn on at the same time, there is a low speed and high speed wire. Your computer for have a setting to turn a fan on but it will have to be programmed and a wire added to your PCM harness.

    I have a question regarding your sunroof track replacement. I too have a PT Cruiser that I just finished installing new tracks. My issue is the vent won't work. The tracks and sunroof open and close but the vent will not work. Do I need to adjust the tracks again? Your video was of great help but you had no issues after installing the tracks so I must have done something wrong.....

    • @ShadyJoesGarage
      @ShadyJoesGarage 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I haven't had any issues with sunroof since the repair and I use the vent just about every day. I didn't think there is any adjustment needed, I do know that to close my sunroof I have to press that button harder than the vent and open button- maybe try pressing the vent button a little harder

    I'm curious why you didn't just order a factory unit to replace the bad unit ? Then all the wires would match and it would just plug in. I'm having the same issue with my sisters Pt Cruiser. Thanks !

    • @ShadyJoesGarage
      @ShadyJoesGarage 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      These units are common to fail and I wasn't going to risk installing another faulty unit . I don't know if you can buy a new unit, but if you can I'm sure it's a lot more expensive then you also have to pay someone to program your remotes to the new unit. Having all the wires in one spot made it extremely easy to install the after market unit and I have had zero issues with it which I am completely satisfied with.
