Accha hai... Reasonable rate.. I use it on my motorcycle chain.

Jaam wire ko nikalkar.. firse sahi se baithana hoga.. uske baad tuning karna hoga.. mere aane wale video mein yeh aayega. Tab tak ek acche mechanic ko bataiye. Front gear ka setting thoda tricky ho sakta hai.. screw aur cable setting sahi honi chahiye.

@@AnandOn2Wheels when it collects dirt, it creates more friction than before(dry), it leads to the pivots to shake due to wear.

@@Purposefullguy agree.. it's for humid weather like we have in Mumbai, especially in monsoon. The spring, if left dry, would rust and that would affect it's elasticity leading to erratic shifting in the long run. Spring if lubed, will gather some dust. But it will stay stuck to the spring because there are no other parts coming in contact with it. At least, it will not rust and repel moisture. The same goes for the pivot pins, especially on entry-level and mid-range derailleurs. Humid weather is bad for bikes and expensive components. But it's ok to leave it dry (or lightly lubed) in locations that have extreme weather with almost no humidity.

You need to feed the chain correctly through the derailleur tab.

​@@AnandOn2Wheels At 3:10 you can see the chain is going under the black bar. It should stay over the black bar. You can see it dragging the chain and also makes noise Between the 2 pulley o object should contact with chain.

Machine oil is the cheapest alternative and not too viscous. Works fine if you keep the derailleur clean, which is what I have been doing for nearly 10 years now and the derailleur is still happy. I feel it will work for many cyclists out there because a vast majority uses entry-level to mid-range cycles. But I get your point - I would use a chain-specific dry lube on a super-premium or a race-spec cycle. I've mentioned that in one of my captions initially. Thanks for your feedback 🙌🏼❤ Stay tuned 🚲

Paraffin grease attracts the least dust, you can also use silicone grease

I just went with the poor man's way 😄 what I wanted to share was the technique I use to lube the derailleur jockey wheels and pivots, and also the points at which one must apply lube. Thank you 👍🏼 That's a nice tip. But the acid in the vinegar would be too aggressive for the chain - as you said, it will eat up the top layer as well. Soaking in detergent after scrubbing with kerosene is a safer bet, which is what I have been doing for many years and it has never failed, no matter how dirty the chain is. Yes, some chains are cheap, but depends on the make and quality. Here, in Mumbai and other big cities, they are expensive 😖.

@@AnandOn2Wheels Get down at cst stn and head north west. 10-15 walking distance. It is a bicycle parts distributors area. KBE enterprises, 455, kalbadevi road - mum02. There are many but go to this one specifically since others will examine you before quoting price. The good ones(pure distributor and wholesale) are inside the gallis. The ones on the main road are retail.

Agree it's not. But it's good as an emergency hack to have it on a completely dry chain like I did in this tutorial. I have seen plenty of bikes that run with chains bone dry - something better than nothing and WD40 is an easy temporary fix for the common man with a basic cycle with basic components. For me, it's machine oil. For professionals, it justifies using top-grade lubes. Thanks mate.

@@AnandOn2Wheels well if you're going through the trouble of deep cleaning your chain, wouldn't you want to lube it properly? As an emergency hack I agree it's better than nothing, but wouldn't bother cleaning it first.
