Derrick! W2G Man. Not many people have hiked that horrible trail. The NPS or Nat Geo has actually removed the Tuckup from the Nat Geo maps. I have spent the last couple of years piecing it together. The 1st piece I did was from Schmutz Spring to Hades Knoll Canyon. We then canyoneered Hades, tagged the CR and came up Tuckup. Then I think I did 150 over to Cork Spring, out & back. Then off Hades Knoll, over to Cork Spring, out and back. The Hades Knoll route is awful! Then I did Schmutz Spring almost to Willow Spring. I did not have enough water and had to stop about a mile shy of Willow. Don't drink from Willow. Recently, I tried to do Toroweap to Willow Spring. The park literature says it is 20 miles. I grabbed water at about the 15 mile mark thinking I only needed enough to get to Willow (5 more miles, right??? Wrong!!!). I overnighted shortly after coming around Big Point. Again, I made it within a mile of Willow and was running low on water. When I retreated, I was at 24.5 miles from the trailhead at Toroweap, with about a mile to go to Willow Spring. Long story short, I have 1.5 to 2 miles sitting out there undone. I have been chipping away at hiking every trail on the Nat Geo Maps that goes below the rim. Other than the couple miles of the Tuckup, all I have left is the Whitmore Beach Trail (1-ish mile) and the Lava Falls Trail (1.5 miles). This March we are planning a trip down Tuckup Canyon to the CR. Packraft from TU to Stairway Canyon. Hike up and out Stairway Cyn back to Schmutz Spring. Hopefully, by then I've finished Whitmore and Lava Falls. Thanks for letting me ramble. Again way to go!!! You're video will never convey the difficulties of this route!!!

A fellow South African Timothy Nokes, a highly respected scientist and an avid marathon runner(70+). He recomended(wrote a book about it)carb loading (his book was considered the bible for runners) until he saw how it really works. He became diabetic even if he was running more than most of us due to excessive carb intake. Now he´s reserching carnivore for athletes, If you not already checkt him out you definitely should.

Finally, on the feminist vs feminine subject, I couldn’t agree more with you on that. As a 42year old female who grew up and took On adult life single handed I am Thankful today we women have the opportunity to do things 60years ago was unthinkable. On the other hand I am Now at a point where I feel like my opportunity to realize every woman’s gift is escaping me as time and biological clock keep ticking and my window is closing to experience motherhood. I often times say being a mom is a full time job . Things changed so much and so fast in the last century in this regard. Social skills, family environments and dynamics, gender responsibilities and balançar between the two.. procreation … and society is taking a toll.

So much honest truth in this interview. 20years ago I was all about solar panels and electric cars. 20years on I realized that is impossible and unsustainable and has become yet just another “green making money business” the impact on natural resources the lack of longevity, the fact that our electric grid is already at capacity …. We never discuss reduce and shrink footprint .. meantime consumption continues to grow….

I’ll come support your regen restaurant!! 🙋‍♀️ I’ll spread it around my meat based community as well. I buy meat from regen farms only and hardly ever eat out these days because of conscious decision to not support industrial ag and feedlots. Right now there is hardly any choices for regenerative based restaurants. Just like organic 20years ago we need to grow the regenerative swell. ❤ including educational information about it in your restaurant would be a great opportunity as well to open dialogue and next time vegans have a standout at the restaurant maybe invite them to have an open hearted discussion about it . Maybe that’s too naive but worth trying I guess. Vegans that go out make noise in public are against killing of animals . Reconnecting with the land and understanding the path and cycle of life and death and the real impact of industrial agriculture is so important to understand and most people in our days are city based and completely detached from the natural cycle of life and connection totally he soil is completely foreign. Coexistence is key. In regen farming the beauty is the cycle is all out back together. One can choose to eat the animal or the vegetable out of that land. It’s not what we eat that makes a difference but how food is produced . Organic farming needs animal manure to grown without artificial fertilizers . A regenerative happy farm has all animals and plants in sync.

I was in my first Olympic cycle for cycling when I had to choose between the vaccine in 2021 and my dreams in order to travel, had been cycling since I was 5yo. I went to the games (at 25yo) and then 6 months later I got myocarditis symptoms after a booster shot, I had no idea back then. I had myocarditis for 2 years and I've been plagued with fatigue and PEM. I have made the switch to keto 10 weeks ago and will probably go full carnivore. I can't answer your question obviously, but damn being an athlete made me a robot. I am still figuring out life and what ‘I, ME’ wants. Maybe that's similar to this lady. 😢
