Take care not to confuse the Eastern Catholic Churches which are in full communion with Rome with the Eastern Orthodox Churches which are schismatic - separated by their non-acceptance of Papal authority. The Eastern Orthodox do have valid sacraments though, which no protestant denomination does.

Godhead The first article of faith of The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints states, “We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.” These three beings make up the Godhead. They preside over this world and all other creations of our Father in Heaven. This is a misrepresentation of what the bible teaches. When you said: "To argue that scripture teaches that salvation is the result of faith alone and that works themselves are not rewarded with salvation." This is a a convoluted statement. The bible says salvation is by grace through faith and it is not of ourselves it is a gift from God (Ephesians 2:8). This is clear teaching. But it also says we were saved FOR good works (Ephesians 2:10). Therefore works are a result of salvation, not a source of it. Yes there will be a reward for works, but you cannot mix that with salvation. If it is by works it is no longer of grace (Romans 11:6).
