And the sealant on that opening at the back of the tweeter will not be good for air circulation and possibly damage the tweeter because of overheating etc. Let professionals do the job. May be more costly, but trial and error can be too.

For the price of the pair of the Yamahas, I buy the tools and materials and make my own boxes. Not only a pair, many pairs.

I just got some of these second hand for a steal! They sound pretty good but they show up that my class D amplifier isn't the best for driving such speakers. I think they will sound much fuller with a decent amp when I can afford one. Sound ok though, just sound a little dull with the current amp (Aiyima A07). I'm thinking of getting a second Aiyima and running my old speakers just to crisp things up a bit.

Вы не сделали главное - вы не заменили конденсаторы кроссовера. Если их заменить -вук СЧ и ВЧ - улучшается СУЩЕСТВЕННО. Разборчивать ВЧ становится на уровне Хай Энд.

Mister, isolate the upper section from the bass section. Get rid of the midrange woofer from the cap. And make the back of the wall of the upper compartment open, let the midrange speaker be in the open air. Install a rectangular plastic grille on top of the case so that it hides the hole.

Tip to save the time, all of this is wonderful, but the key is just removing the two pieces of dark grey foam - one in each. Accessible from just temporarily removing the bottom woofer, removes damping and gives more bass, it was this which contributed to the improvement in low end response.

Not a good idea dont do this. Yamaha doesn't skimp on there speakers. It's not made that way to cut cost or for profit it's made that way because that's the way it sounds best. You adding fill to it is blocking the speaker in more. If they needed a better sound out of it (which they dont) they sound perfect they would have put those speakers in a smaller box. Leave well enough alone.

Эта акустика для кинотеатра... А если уж затеялись усовершенствовать ,то динамики надо было сажать на резиновые прокладки ? Не ставьте на них ничего. Эффект улучшения чисто психологический , но если хозяину так лучше , значит он прав ! Молодчина .

Единственный косяк в этих колонках это среднечастотный динамик его пластмассовый корпус даёт сильный призвук поэтому его нужно за демпфировать полностью вибропластом и внутрь уже положить немного синтепона Ну тогда он зазвучит просто супер!!!!!!

Best part is: 11:00 :-D These YAMIS deserve much much more, since they are too bright sounding with those Nippon elcos on the crossovers at all, so change them with any type of MKPs, and listen! Note however, that the internal Monster brand cabling is good enough, just the box needs a little more reinforcements in the bass section, with some horizontal bracings, and they can be quite musical speakers at the end of the day for sure!

All right I said before that I will do the similar polyfill coating of the inside. And I did. Not as same as told in the you tube video.I cut the polyfill pieces much more bigger, I used much more polyfill and covered much more inside area. I also used the sponges already yamaha put. I covered the crossover circuit too. I put so much sguuezed polyfill in the medium driver's case. I didn't make anything to the tweeters. Ok. The basses became deeper as it comes from the back, you feel much more bass in your abdomenal innards. Much more improvement achieved in the mids. Mids became more clearer, less distortion. Thanks to the polyfill, thanks to my workmanship and struggle shame to the lazy Yamaha!

I have read some comments written about the comparison of NS 777 and NS 555's. How could they say that they have the similar sounds? NS777's have two 8" woofers but the NS555's, on the contrary, 6". of coyrse the the basses would be weakernin NS55's...

What a Shame to yamaha... In my country (in Turkey) now they are sold at circa 1000 euro price and the yamaha was too lazy to even coat the inside of the tower speakers with polyfill!!! shame shame shame... and I strongly condemn Yamaha's this shame. I have also these speakers and I am gonna to do this same polyfill coating for them. I will share the results as soon as I have finished the job and make the comparison A - B speakers test. Thank you ver very much for this video and the youtube facility. the world wouldn't be the same after this internet revolution!!!

Use stereo amplifier u will get better bass, dont except better bass from av recivers coz they dont give better bass also av recivers concept only movie not music so u use good stereo amp, no need subwoofer.

I am waiting for my ns-777's to arrive. I don't want the feet sticking out as well. I am hoping to mount them inwards instead of outwards. I also ordered yamaha powered subwoofer so no need to get into the guts. Thanks for sharing, definitely worth a like.

Interesting, I just uploaded a video where I found 2 boxes of ns-333's at the dump. I might be getting a set of these speakers at some stage to complement them. But I already have subs so probably won't do the change. Interesting to watch though 👍
