How to move pentatonic positions like a pro
Your knowledge of the keyboard is seriously lacking. Multiple fingerings for chords exist on the piano just as on the fretboard.
So basically, a lesson on triads.
Hey Andrew, the main point is that things have multiple different forms, whether they're triads, larger arpeggios, or scales. The crux of it is how intervals are expressed in different ways and how to go about tackling that issue. I take it from your comment that you didn't like the lesson, how could I have improved it?
@ElevatedImprov on the contrary I actually listed it in my liked and saved profile
Right on, sorry I misread the tone of your comment!
@@ElevatedImprov I didn't mean to have a negative tone I just retitled your video Lesson for you Triads are important because there's different voicings for different chords all over the neck which gives you a lot of different colors
Hi ..I just watched your video and subscribed . I am on vacation and guitarless but will definitely try this out when I get home !
Thanks for checking it out and enjoy your vacation!
@ElevatedImprov from Vancouver island and in Mex
im sorry but piano has at least 3 forms per chord, not to mention the possibilities when using 7tn chords and/or left hand
Don't be sorry, you're correct about inversions! But the main point is that if you go to play a first inversion of a C major on the piano, that form will always be the same. Whereas on the guitar there are mulitple forms for inversions as well. Thanks for watching!
Would you like to trade subs? I need min of 100 to podcast my guitar lessons. Thanks 😎
Very good lesson. I subscribed and look forward to more
Thank you, let me know if there's a specific topic you'd like to see a lesson on!
👌
People want a to see and copy what someone else does. Like when you heard smoke on the water the first time. You didn’t want to know anything BUT how did you do that , what strings did you use, where did you put your fingers , ect…….. I’m not taking from your lesson the importance of theory, just saying , most learn by just looking and you could or others could just say , put your fingers here and here and pick this note or strum this chord and get more out of it …….just a thought
Hey, thank you for taking the time to give your feedback and sorry you feel like I missed the mark with this lesson! Do you mean that you just want to know how to play songs/riffs, is there a specific one you'd like a lesson on? Thanks again, I appreciate it!
"...most learn by just looking and you could or others could just say...) Sure thing, Einstein. Last time anybody checked , there were prbly dozens and hundreds of places to get tutorials e.g. Marty,Shut Up., Jon Mclennan, Andy et al. Why should yet another channel bother...
You did awesome, keep up the good work !
@@ElevatedImprovYou did awesome, keep up the good work 👍
Thank you!
That’s what makes guitar so unique. So many different voicings
Most useful many thanks!
I'm happy to help, thanks for watching!
Graphics r faulty at 1:13? The 5th (G) is on the 8th fret B string. Should be on the 3rd fret high E string G.
At 1:14 Both are correct. The G shown is played with pinky. In your shape the index plays the G,
Hey thanks for watching and for the feedback! I'm glad you pointed that version out...yet another option we have available!
@@terrybull3798 WTF r u talking about? the 3 dots are on C,E, & F#--the root, 3rd, & 4th. E on 5th fret of B string, & simultaneously on 8th fret of the B. Duh...
Is that middle c ??? Is that what you tune to 😅😳🤔🎶🎸🔥🎵🎶🎸🔥🎵😎
If I tune by ear I usually match my tuning to a key that I can play as an open string, thanks for watching!
👍thank you.
Thanks for watching!
That's useful thank you
Happy to help, thanks for watching!
Wow man this is such an awesome guitar lesson I love it. Shred on dude.😃👍❤️🔥⚡️🎶🎸
Thanks for watching!
@ You’re very welcome. Much love.❤️
I'm a pretty darn good guitarist...should be since I've been playing all my life... And I rolled my eyes but clicked your video anyway.... All I can say is this is an excellent video and a goldmine I wish I had 30 years ago!!!! Subscribed 👍
Hey Jeff, thank you for checking it out!!
Great exercise. I need work on my pentatonic positions. Im better at gin and tonic positions. lol. Saw you play on Friday. Sounded great.
Thanks so much! You were at the wedding?!
@@ElevatedImprov Yes. All the way from Toronto.

Brand new, thanks for watching!
Awesome piece. Will need to come back. I didn't quite get it clearly. I subscribed.
Thanks for watching! Let me know if there is anything in particular I could explain better, would love your feedback!

Great lesson
Thanks for watching!
This lesson helps a lot! Great mix of theoretical background and a lot of applications on a great backing track (very stormy...;-)
Thanks for checking it out!
This is a great lesson and will definitely help me get out of the one position I use for everything. I really need to work on my scales, thanks!
Thanks for watching! Let me know if there is something specific you need help on, I'd be happy to make a lesson to help out.
@@ElevatedImprov This one already helps a lot but I think my next real big step is trying to play this over some power chords and get to sound good rather than just sound like me picking random notes and not having it match with whatever I'm playing chord wise. I'm currently working out of a few method books but I jump around too much I think 😁 Books I'm using if it helps: Rock Guitar (1989), [DK] Complete Guitar Method, and The School of Rock Method (Book 1) - I plan on starting there in the Spring if everything goes well because they have a program where you can actually play with a band which I think will help tremendously. Just trying to get a head start on everything, this is the first year I've actually started taking my guitar playing seriously and not just jamming open chords - so if you have another other videos already or suggestions I'm open to anything! I've got a bunch of other books on the wall too but I'm not ready for those ones yet other than Beginner Exercises (Improve in 10 Minutes a Day) - the other ones require actually reading music and I'm still learning that part. Sorry for the paragraph 😅

Thanks for the info, great video!
Glad it was helpful!
I remember learning this song and this was the tricky part. And the chorus bends
Such a great song. Thanks for watching!
Agreed getting the chorus bends to not sound like shit is a little tricky. And doing them on time when you are still learning the positions.
Quanto custa uma guittara dessa ??
£800 maybe maybe lil less
~ $1,800
Thanks man!
Very cool!!
Are you hybrid picking? It looks like your middle finger is picking.
Yes, great catch! I like to do both hybrid, and flat picking on this pattern. Thanks for watching!
Is that a squier Stratocaster? I was thinking about purchasing one.
I love mine, brilliant for the money
I'll always advocate for Ibanez. The neck is thin and smooth, the frets feel nice, and they're affordable. Default pickups work well, and unless you severely mishandle your guitar, they'll sound great even after decades. Source: I've had 6 Ibanez for several decades.
Hey, it's an American Standard, but Squires are great too. Thanks for watching!
@@ElevatedImprov thank you 😊
Tough stuff. I beat myself up over not being to play that the first I learned it, because it seemed so easy when you listen. But that is not the case! That second bend is tricky to nail

I just realized he’s jumping from 6 to 5th mid bend. Crazy
Yes, that string change mid-bend is pretty tricky but really fun once you get the hang of it. Thanks for watching!
Love this!
This is how I need to learn! I would of never of gotten it without this video,, thank you so much my friend 🙏
No problem, thank you!
