@PatrickJohnsonGuitar Thanks for the kind words, PJ. I am blessed to come up on guitar in the 70's before music started going digital. We had to develop a good ear to listen to a song on the radio, and be playing it before it went off. We became experts at dropping the needle on a record and picking out parts and licks. There were no instructional video's or TH-cam to help us out like today, and that's where you come in. You are an awesome resource for players of all levels who want to learn what real oldskool, R&B, neo soul, and gospel rhythm guitar is all about. Continued blessings and keep cranking out those awesome video's.

You want a simplified version or something more close to the record? This is a jazz standard so it has lots of beautiful chord changes but I can try and simplify it for you if youd like.

@ I feel like I hear some of the simple chords, but there are some things in there that are pretty cool. But whatever way you see fit would be fun for the holidays. I’m not that accomplished to where I can play all these fancy chords and movements just yet anyway.Lol.

It didn't take me long to get the bar chords. It may be uncomfortable and hurt but they are almost essential. If you practice the fingerings and positioning your muscle memory will eventually make them 2nd nature. You can get away with playing triads but you'll have to be able to distinguish all the notes to know exactly how to apply them. You'll need to know your roots and how chords are built. Maybe I can put a lesson together for you. If triads are working by all means they can, then just make sure you are continuing to grow.
