Hello there! I'm Lucas, I go by GantioKeys. I like customizing keyboards on the side. This is a place to discuss mech keebs! 😉
Revising a BUDGET KING Keyboard | RAKK Lam-Ang Lite V2 [Overview]
THIS IS THE LAM-ANG LITE NOW IN 2024!
I'd say it's an easy recommendation for me right now out of the box for people who just want a basic TKL with multiple foam configurations and gasket mounting to play without breaking the bank.
What do you think? 🤔

Tired of the long pole switches? I'm glad has come around with RBO stems with the Rosewood. Rail bottom out switches isn't exactly new but I think it's one of a big refresher in the switch market. The Navi60, a Serial Experiments Lain-themed board, designed by DeskDaily is one heck of a great sounding board that got me peaking back then during its GB but I'm not really into the stuff of anime so it is what it is, lol. But damn, this is so good that I'm quite curious how this one goes with Top Mount as this board supports both Top and O-ring mounting! Paired with this popping Gateron Smoo...

Please look at that gorgeous Silver Cycle7 from TKD paired with the infamous Keykobo Retro Mixed Lights! Literally speaking, as we veer away from the high-pitch offerings from HMX, here's a sound test with the Purple Dawn as this is designed by @UnikeysOfficial 🎵 I think the Purple Dawn has just a slight poppy sound signature compared with the Macchiato but in terms of the volume it seems that ...

It's only this time I got to hold off a TGR910 this close when I usually get to see them at meetups but it's different once you get to hear it personally in a quieter scenario. At this point, I don't think PP Plate and Top Mount is an underrated combo but it's quite a hype that everyone should try it. Also, GMK Nightlight is such a beaut and I'm lost for words on how I like the colors of it all...

Goodie! At last, a Monokei keyboard has hit the channel featuring Monokei Hiro with a beautiful brass bottom and a Suave Blue Top Case. I almost forgot how to use a 65% since I've been used to using a 60% or TKL for so long that I tend to mistype with the 65% layout nevertheless it's nice to type on this keyboard that is not bouncy but has still some give into it! [ST] Tiger80 Lite: Gateron Milky Yellow / HMX Deep Navy with GMK Norse
มุมมอง 1.5K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
Aeyo, it's been a while. We got more stuff coming soon! I'm also using a custom PCB from RMI with the TKL-FFHS-8K that doesn't have any flex cuts and has a thickness of 1.6mm, it's the only reason it clacks on its own without sounding too thin without the foams. One of those situations is wherein I have a different switch for the spacebar. Anyway, showing some love with the stock Gateron Milky ...

I like the overall implementation of how the Rose60 has an interchangeable top where you can go between WK, WKL, and HHKB and it's GH60 PCB-compatible so instead of the default PCB which utilized flex-cuts, our client here has a Mona RMI PCB, resulting to a more fuller sound thanks to no flex-cuts and 1.6mm thickness too! Though the board has gaskets underneath the spacebar, it's still amazing ...
[ST] Nightowl60 & Ciel60: Nylon Plate Test

My friend scored a nylon plate for his Nightowl60 which I tested with my Ciel60. It allowed me to observe how the Nylon plate performs with a Cherry MX switch. I have already tried them with HMX Deep Navy and Xinhai which gave me surprising insights. These are my insights over the plate material: · It aims for a cleaner and softer sound output · Has more heft into it compared to PC material · W...
[ST] Monsgeek M5: Aflion Ink
มุมมอง 1K7 หลายเดือนก่อน
Huge props to MonsGeek on having the M5 to utilize a 1.6mm PCB which provides for a fuller sounding board! I tested it with all foams and no foam configurations to which plate foam is a must for this keyboard - the PC plate tends to vibrate at every keypress across the board. I still like how it sounds all together. Build Specs for the board: Monsgeek M5 • Aflion Ink | Lubed with 205g0 • Aifei ...
[ST] Ciel60: OP Black and GMK Norse

Testing the waters at the moment with stock OP Black by 43studio mounted on Ciel60 with an aluminum plate. This video is to test out the difference between 50a o-ring vs 70a o-ring. This also marks my first aluminum keyboard, so it's quite a feat! Not to mention, a stealer of the spotlight as Cycle7 was supposedly my first aluminum board but according to our local vendor, it's still on its way....

I've been eyeing an X-ring config for my Tofu board for months now and it is doing me some wonders right now! I have a 50a o-ring and 75a x-ring side-by-side, what are your thoughts so far? 👀

Akko Radiant Red v. Cream Yellow: What’s Really Creamy or Thocky?
you talk so much about comparing Morandi to Jade but never showed a clip of their sound in a board side by side :D
All HMX switch is for High Pitch Lover.
Definitely
suled review, mapapabili ako neto plus lason sa tropa
Truly lason! Thank you!
ikaw lam-ang ang aking mahal.
How about comparing it to Gat Milky Yellow Pro
Feelwise, Rosewood feels much smoother. But the sound profile, Milky Yellow has a higher pitch and tadbit louder
@@GantioKeys i see rosewood worked well
Sounds like Legos
Never thought about it like that but it does sound like that 🤣
Almost gave it a firewood sound. I liked it
nice sound test bauce! yung daughter board niya ba is from the tiger80 lite or different?
Got a c3 daughterboard from ManongKeebs
@@GantioKeys yung bottom case niya boss from where?
Still Tiger80 Lite. Repainted lang.
@@GantioKeys noted. Thanks! I ordered the same pcb from RMI as well pero yung mine came with the placement ng USB port is nasa right instead of nasa middle :< unlike your unit
Well that's the purpose of the daughterboard though. Since the PCB is really based for F1-8x V2, it just so happened asking RMI on this na it fits well with Tiger, just need to snap off yung USB Port since the Tiger Lite is using a daughterboard.
This is amazing
can it replace oetumu switches?
Wouldn't say that this would be one of the first reco I'd go for if you were to replace stock switches for typing feel, it's up there IMO.
@@GantioKeys these are 5 pins, oetemu has 3. so it doesn't find unfortunately on my redragon k552, unless i clip and said which i find tedious
@@bajed10 I think if you can still get Akko 3 pin switches like the Radiant Red or Cream Yellow (non pro), you'd still get better sound than your stock switches. Since last year, Akko has moved over with 5-pin switches too.
@@GantioKeys yeah, their cs switches (that are 3-pin) are phased out it seems. so i just ordered ktt kang whites instead.
Keep it coming
Akko or ikaw?
Ikaw yie
Dang this board sounds so thin lol
nah its just not filled to the brim with foams
personally, i prefer this sound signature to whatever saturated "thock" sound the community is referring to these days.
@@lhsailo agreed.
@@lhsailo i mean.. foamless doesn’t need to be thin? I’m just surprised how thin this board sounds in general.
@@Drippyddrip I'm guessing it's just an alu board characteristic
Wait, if the Rosewood is a full travel switch, does this mean it will cause interference with cherry profile keycaps if it were installed on a north-facing keyboard PCB?
probably, yes.
Yep
I’m confused as a newbie here
Love the review - very accurate and detailed. Thanks so much sir GantioKeys. How do you compare it with other mainsteam/classic full travel nylon switches ie. oil kings or cherry blacks?
Thanks bro! Although I haven't tried the Oil Kings yet but I think comparing it over with MX Blacks should have a very noticeable difference both in sound and pitch since the big difference aside from the mixture of their nylons both in top and bottom housing is the material used for the stem. It made sense right from the get go that nylon stem would be much much tamer compared to a POM stem like of from Cherry Black. If we're to compare it both at dry, I think volume-wise both would be the same but Rosewood would have deeper notes due to the stem.
bayral
Boss, pa build naman nung cycle8 ko pag dumating na dito sa pinas hahaha
Sige sir just send me a message sa FB pagdating 😁
Mannnn makes me wish I would’ve gotten a Navi now lol
It's really great to type on for real
droptest
navi it is
Ganda Sir!
DDAAAAAAYUM That sounds really good!
i got a silver navi too, love mine it's soo nice
This is uncoated raw but it really looks good!
@@GantioKeys oh dam i didn't know that existed
wow this sounds so good. i like thock poppy most but farout this is nice
Gat. Smoothies surprised me at best
Is their any pe foam or plate foam on this build?
Nope, foamless config
what cable is that ? looks cool
A friend of mine gave it to me recently, it's from GCables (sadge this didn't turn out very well lately for them)
Love my Navi60 as well! Mine is red. Sounds great! Those Smoothie's are so clacky very nice. Are you using stock alu plate or an aftermarket? I swapped mine out with a unikorn style plate cause I didn't want to unscrew the case every time lol.
This is the stock alu plate!
Hope the continue to experiment with materials on the switches, like brass, aluminum, or others
We can only hope so but we'd have to factor in the costing and how much will it be sold to the market.
👀👍! sounds great! any thoughts on the keyboard?
I wanna own one Monokei board myself 🤣 It really appeals to that minimal and clean aesthetic to be honest. I do enjoy typing with this too
Knight Stabs Goated. Sounds good my dude!
It is indeed, goated!
Yunnn
how do they feel to type on?
Snappy stock springs, no need for spring swapping imo. The tactility has more kicked into it but not as fatiguing to use it in longer usage
Dang! They all are amazing ❤❤
First one sound so good
Ciel60
where would i be able to grab said custom pcb?
👀👍! everything pairs so well together! everything from the colors of the case and keycaps to the pairing of milky yellows with deep navy spacebar!
I really had it going right there to base it all off from the GMK Norse set plus I saw it with my friend when he mounted the same set on a Gray Kohaku with SS Weight, instead of having to repaint the Tiger in Silver, I went with almost similar to the Kohaku
oh wow. where can we purchase the custom pcb?
From here rmi-kb.com/
Sounds good. The best T80L I've ever heard, though that's not saying much. The PP plate completely transforms this rather boring-sounding keyboard into something usable. Well done. The next step IMO is swapping the switches for some clacky ones like the Owlab Neons. I'd love to hear Neons on this PP plate.
Might check international vendors to score one of these... Thanks btw! I forgot to mention that I'm using a custom PCB here which doesn't include any flex cuts and has a 1.6mm thickness.
@@GantioKeys I see. Yeah, the lack of flex cuts and extra thickness should definitely improve the sound.
Shesh. F1 colorway 🔥
grabe yown
Which one in your opinion sounds better (if you have tested them both) vertex v1s or these?
Haven't tried the V1s but I think you'd get more volume from the V1
@@GantioKeys Alright thanks!
What do you think would be the main difference between full foam and 3 layers of painters tape
0.5 inch or 1 inch micropore?
P R O M O S M 🤔
Ano ginamit mong switch dito sir?
HMX Cloud
DOPE AF
suggesting putting 1 layer of painters tape at the bottom of the PCB for safety purposes, no worries on the sound profile as it will not change the sound profile of the board (Ciel60 owner here)
What is it for? Haven't seen much people put tape
what is that JBL device u got there dude
That's the first JBL GO. Eventually had to replace it a few months ago.
I can't understand half of it because de andere helft van de tijd spreek je geen Engels... :|
