Documenting my experiences upgrading my Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio!
Secret Feature on Your Alfa Romeo & How-To!
In this video I will be showing you how to use Multi ECU Scan to unlock a secret feature available on all Alfa Romeo’s. I will be showcasing how to connect and use MES to update your cars shifting behaviour from North American style to European style! With this easy mod you will now be able to shift from park to drive by pressing the upshift paddle, along with going from drive to neutral by pressing both the upshift/downshift paddles at the same time. This is a very enjoyable driving related mod and I highly recommend it!

This is awesome thanks!
@@Bmsith87 no problem!
This now something I am going to have to do! That is super cool.
You should! It’s definitely a neat upgrade
Thanks for the video and explanation. What year QV? Do you have a SGW bypass?
2017 QV but no SGW needed. I do have a few friend that have to use the SGW bypass however! They’ve had no issues 👍
Hi Nick, Thank you so much for sharing your video! I really appreciate the effort you put into creating it. That said, I have to admit I’m a bit surprised that, to this day, I’ve never come across a tutorial that shows, in detail, how to properly put the filter back in its place. I imagine this might be because it’s such a painstakingly complicated process that most people probably prefer to cut the scene during editing. Otherwise, I’m guessing they’d risk having their video demonetized on TH-cam due to the sheer number of swear words they’d utter while trying to reassemble everything! Thanks again for your content-it’s always incredibly helpful and entertaining!
@@elisergigarage that is too funny! It’s pretty difficult to film getting it back in there due to being a tight space for sure
Hi... Will be nice to find the way to disable the active aero from mes.... So will be not anymore warning when they stop to work
I believe the best you can do is set the aero to down mode. Will do some more poking!
Stelvio is only 1 screw
@@vincewatson_official 👍👍
Does it put any extra wear on the transmission going from neutral to drive?
@@anirbano that I can not answer, I would assume yes
@@Nicks_QV So it's basically not any different from putting the car in neutral and back using the shift knob?
@ correct, just easier to do on the move
Will definitely be doing this. You're picking great topics for your videos, keep it up!
@@anirbano appreciate it! Thanks!
Definitely want to do this to my Quad since seeing Ricky (Modded Motors) demo it in their Stelvio.
@@kpmongerol yeah it’s for sure worth it!
Thanks a lot. I constantly get kids at the bus stop wanting me to Rev. This mod will help make those kids happy when I'm not at a stop.

Completely off topic but do you know how to update the infotainment system or maps? I have a 2018 Stelvio and never updated either.
@@franciscoburgos2762 tbh I just use Apple Maps so I can’t help much there
I have all the MES things because I need them at maintenance intervals, one big thing I have been looking for is a compiled list of all the things you can (and even the ones you shouldn't) in the proxi alignment data block, Hoping your future videos on the proxi alignment will cover these things (or if you know a link...)
@@ProjectWolfDragon yes I will be messing around with it further to see what I can get away with! I will be for sure using it for my differential service that ill be tackling soon👍

Do a garage makeover
@@TestPancake good call! Planning to in the future
Can we expect a drag racing videos soon?
In the spring yes probably 😎
You need to speak louder I have turned the volume all the way up and it is very hard to hear you.
Noted, thanks!
So cool! Does the engine rev match when going back into Drive while the car is already moving?
It does not, it finds a suitable gear to shift into. I would definitely allow the car to coast while shifting back into gear so as to not cause any issues. I could imagine with high rpm to shift into gear the transmission may not enjoy that
@ hmm can I give it some gas and rev match myself (at my own risk lol)?
@@Food_n_Driver365 no I would not. When it switches back to drive it will select a lower fee with higher rpm and the car will jerk. Definitely not good on the trans
very good video, does it need the sgw bypass? i heard it’s needed for the MY2018 or newer
Yes! It is needed
@ thank you so much🙏🏻

Is this something that could be found when taken to the dealership for warranty work?
It is under OEM parameters so I don’t think they would be checking for it. I haven’t heard of anyone having issues so far

Good videos, it looks as you have a Ctek charger on your battery, could you share how you connect it and the pig-tail you use? Any issues or concerns?
@@AC-QV23 came pre-installed by dealer but pretty easy to sort out otherwise. I don’t use it very often unless the car is parked for a week or longer. ctek are solid
@@Nicks_QV They are solid, I have my Ctek connected with the clamps as mine sits for weeks at times, the connector would be an easier plug-in, I'll dig more into it.
I have the same ctek installation on my QV. Took me less than 10 minutes to install and it makes it so much easier and faster to connect. I also have a cover for the car, so I keep the charger on the floor and can see the status without opening the trunk or removing the cover. Highly recommended.
@ for sure, great system!

@@bigboymarket most difficult cabin filter I’ve seen!
Stock seats are absolutely brilliant. Worst 5k ever spent.
I agree the stock seats are quite nice! Thankfully I got this seat for a killer deal (1500). The main benefits I’ve found so far are lower center of gravity, better shoulder support/wrap, less weight and the ability to run a harness cleanly... all of which will be beneficial for the track build I am intending with this car. Thanks for watching!
Wow, thank you for making and sharing this info! How much less $$$ overall do you think this is VS the OEM carbon seat?
@@Food_n_Driver365 this seat costs about $5000CAD new ($3300USD+tax). Got a killer deal on it for about $1500usd. OEM seats sell in sets for about 3-4K usd usually
