While I had definitely seen the boat previously, I had not seen the trailer until he dropped it off in my driveway. For the last 6 years or so it has been stored outside at a remote property he own. Good video. I had the exact problem. When I went to replace the check valve, the top bit was actually broken off, so I had to take out the tee fitting to clear. Added a couple of minutes but easy enough. Keep an eye on the O-rings if you take off the tee.

    Thank you for this video. This was the exact problem we were having. The plumber told us it was our shower thermostatic cartridge and charged us over $500 to replace it. Perfect video. Thanks. Mine was turning auger but blower motor wouldn't come on. I checked and it was getting power. I checked the coil for continuity and I thought it was good. I hooked up the motor about the same way you did and it popped. The motor is definitely bad now. I thought I messed it up but I think it must of barely been out. I ordered a new motor. Thanks for the video because it shows me it should have worked and I didn't ruin it

    Thank you so much for the helpful video. The check valve for my Navien NPE-240A failed last year, the plumber charged me ~$500 to diagnose and fix. After only 1 year, the same happened with water being just Luke warm. I watched the video, purchased the valve and replaced it. Work well now. Saved me ~$400. One thing to note is that the check valve purchased from Boston Heating Supply is not the right one for my 2016 NPE-240A or the valve shown in the video ( I purchased and it did not fit). I found the right valve in SUPPLIES DEPOT, part # 30008360A. I got two since this valve seems to have short life of ~1 year.

    My wife had not showered in two days due to long days at work. She did her work out last night and no hot water. Thinking it was the heat exchanger I did a two hour flush but nothing. Did the bypass and viola hot water. My check valve was disintegrated when I pulled it but at least could get half of it back in to stop water from leaking. I ordered the check valve with overnight shipping and will replace it and a few other o rings. I've had my Navien for 7 years and this is first time a part has failed. We have extremely hard water. My wife and family just want to say thank you!!!!!

The plumber sat on HOLD with Navien for more than an hour and a half and went from number 39 in the queue to number 20 in the queue. I made them leave before they could charge me for another hour. this helped me immensely, many thanks. In my case, it only seemed to be the shower that wasn't hot enough, the nearby tub always worked great (higher flow). This led us down the expensive but fruitless path of replacing the shower cartridge, which didn't work, then the whole valve, which also didn't do the job. Finally, a $7 part that I installed myself with the help of this video solved it.

    I fix these for locals and I have repaired about 100 of them so far. Loosing all 3 motors? I may see motor drive issues but generally it's 1 not all 3 and a low cost Triac i believe a BTA20 or a Diode that opens up. If all 3 check connections by Removing power board form cpu board it is 2 screws top and bottom most likely the pins connecting the 2 boards have corrosion and making poor contact.

    • @TDScotty
      @TDScotty 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Agreed. I was just showing how to test all three motors to eliminate any of those as a possible issue. you will never have all three motors go out. But occasionally, somebody will want to test them. I believe the Motors now are DC and not like the ones I show in the video. In this instance, it was my circuit board that was the problem. It’s been 3 years since I replaced it and so far everything‘s been running great! Have a Happy New Year!

    • @TDScotty
      @TDScotty ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed, you should never put 110- 120 volt AC to a 12 Volt DC motor. As I mentioned in the video, you need to look at the ID Tags first. This particular model has fan motors that are all 110 volt AC. I totally agree with you, and the ID Tag was the first thing I checked before I did anything further. I think the auger motors as well as some of the fans on the new models are 12 Volt nowadays, but definitely check first like I did.

    • @TDScotty
      @TDScotty ปีที่แล้ว

      Those issues can be a bit of a challenge to diagnose. GMG has made a number of upgrades since their first grills rolled off the line. Their are software updates that can be done through to phone app now. You also have a temp sensor that could be giving you trouble. Could be either of those to be honest....Might be a good ideal to call their tech support line and let them go through some software troubleshooting questions with you. That will either fix the problem or allow you to move on to the hardware troubleshooting- Which normally comes after you have eliminated software and settings as a culprit. Keep us updated and good luck!

    Thank you for this video! I had the same issue with my Navien NPE 240a right after a copper pipe pinhole leak on the hot water line (maybe one caused the other?). In any case I did a lot of searching on the internet for what the problem might be, and this video was the most helpful result. I ordered part # 30008360A from tanklessparts for $6 + shipping. Once I got it though I chickened out and wanted a licensed plumber to troubleshoot with Navien Support first (they wouldn't troubleshoot with me). Took them only 5 min to notice that the GPM (gallons per min) was not what it should be, and the tech said it could either be the flow sensor or the check valve. The tech also recommended a thorough flush with one of those more expensive products (not just white vinegar), something like Haymaker. I told the plumber I'd get the flow sensor and have him come back to install both later, but after he left I felt the check valve installation was most likely the culprit. Once I removed the check valve it was plain to see the spring was unseated, and there may have also been a bit of the plastic missing too. After installation of the new check valve, my hot water is back to normal! I could have saved a bit of money if I wouldn't have chickened out but oh well. Couple of tips for the installation. I would recommend draining the water from the water heater fully, probably from the bottom drain plug. I tried draining from the service ports but that didn't drain it all the way and I ended up having some water come out after removing the check valve. That was a little scary because it wasn't just a few drops, it was pouring out and I was worried it would damage some electronics or wires. I made sure to dry the area thoroughly with towels and a fan before flipping that internal power switch back on. Second tip is don't forget to remove the cap that the check valve has on it. I know it's a silly tip, but at first I didn't know why the part didn't fit, and then I realized the cap was still on :P
