btw, Daybreak doesn't offer the old, original EverQuest to play, so they can't "banhammer" them. That's why Blizzard threw up classic WoW, there's a video game museum law that threatened them. If the game isn't offered anymore, they lose some rights to it.

it's a shame the client runs so poorly these days. I've tinkered a lot, and I just can't get it to run properly. Yesterday I repeatedly had an issue where the video just froze. I could still hear myself walking and sitting down, I could blindly do a /camp desktop (game crashed though) but there was no way to recover the game. Also, 0% Gamma is rough.

I think I finally got it loaded up right. How do you get that UI you have cause the regular one kinda sucks? And does it fix the camera shake? When I look around with the mouse it kinda shakes and stuff. I was trying to ask in their discord but folks were too busy arguing about the bard issues lol.

Dont know if anyone told you, but the spell not taking hold was your JBoots not being able to override SOW.

Dude this shit brought back so many memories. The first day of commercial release back in 99' the untold secret supposedly was fishing was the fastest way to make money... So I spent 8 straight hours fishing, I had made like 15g and thought I was Elon Musk. Then my boy was like yo lets just take a boat ride and see the rest of the world, it will bring us back here in the end. So, I hoped on the boat with my friend in awe of how big the world was and as I was walking about the boat I "clicked" on the ship and somehow attacked a shark, which than proceeded to hand me my ass and kill me out in the middle of the ocean. 8 hours wasted, everything gone. I logged off the game, uninstalled it and seriously didn't come back for almost 8 months. But in end the end great game of its time, tons of great stories. Thanks for video, had me laughing my ass off.

I donated/funded/pre ordered this back in a i think 2018-19 while i was looking for a game to satiate my interest for Mortal online 1 while the 2nd was not announced yet. I made the forum account you needed too and when they changed their forum, i made a new account to keep things right. I got the steam key to play the beta i think in early 2023, maybe later 2022. It was not a good experience because at that time, Mortal online 2 was already playable. The mechanics to even you a weapon or change them was awkward and the magic idea was neat, but did not feel very fun.

"There are a lot of players who will quit because X is a pain in the ass and Y doesn't work".. Awesome! Sounds like my kind of game. A game without people who give up instantly, or who just constantly ask for help for shit that should be obvious. Good riddance.

I used to play when EQ first came out in 99'. Played till 2010. Just started playing again about 45 dys, playing on a DB Standard server. I love the time i played in 99'-10' and i like this EQ i play now. But would like to play on a server that's reminiscence of that period [99'-10']. I love the Necro so soloing is not an issue but like the grouping as well. Any suggestions ??? Also tbh i find the different server's confusing when looking for class guides. Theres alot of guides for P99,Progression,and TLP but not sure if any can/could be applied to a DB server?

I play on the Teek server and am extremely hardcore. The economy is crap and I am sure I will be on Quarm sometime in the next year.

I've become addicted to your content! Played EQ back before Velious and it holds a very special place in my heart. I actually quit EQ for Dark Age of Camelot, another great game i might add. I did grab a hold of EQ and had Project 99 up and running, but i must admit, i'm not sure i've got time for it anymore! Sort of living through you right now lol.

Thanks. I've been trying to understand just how the Gambit System works and this video did a better job than all the others that I've seen. I think actually going through each level and what it did helped a lot with seeing how the Gambit System worked. Now - I don't really fully understand it - but I understand it better than I did. As with any game you have to play it to really learn how it works. .

Fantastic game! And speaking of, I like your style, please continue with the Kenshi series, I'm enjoying the videos and the awesome commentary. Subbing! Oh and if I may suggest, taking off your backpack while in combat helps with dodge and all that. Just put it in your inventory while you're getting into it.

I remember the project quarm hype and was there for the first day of launch to lock in a few rare names. Didnt log back in until they fixed the camera/3rd wheel zoom scroll. Is it playable yet?

Your video enticed me to start a Chanty taking 40 hours to hit lvl12 on Quarm server .. Play comparable to p1999 .. Both are mature servers with helpful players, and idiot players chased off .. I liked Quarm Better, but its just my personal experience was better there so its a subjective call .. Both platforms way better than DB TLP servers !!

I want to give Quarm a try but my cpu seems to have a conniption whenever I try to get the files. Hence why I mostly stay on P99. I try to play retail EQ from time to time but the character models look gross for dwarves

I played p99 red for a few years (launch until 2015 or so). Sometimes the population was 15~ at peak at this time when it almost died. Got a GM kicked out for giving my character a super clicky (lol sorry secrets - got away with it for 2 years though). Hope everyone around made a bundle on bitcoin like I did! Akim/Wyrm/Moses/others

I love P99 and have been playing on it since around 2013. It’s probably the only game I can play and actually feel a sense of joy/peace. It’s hard to explain, but if you know, you know. I don’t play much anymore, time and family keep me away, but occasionally I think about jumping back on to enjoy myself.

F9 cycles through camera modes on P99 and you can get a few different swivel versions.

EQ is considered abandonware. Same as WoW. Have fun figuring that one out.
