    Do you use the gun steering on the whole time so that when you do see something as soon as you lock it up the a/c stays nose on? also do you use tend to use the helmet Hud or do you prefer another method?

      It depends on the situation and what threats I can see. Helmet HUD is always great for getting the SHVAL on the target area, and scouting. If I see only soft targets I prefer to go in close and use guns off the nose. Nice to sneak low into an unprotected SAM site like on 4YA servers where they are just easy prey, and just gun off the nose for nice close in view of the explosions. I could imagine using the tracked guns close in could be disorientating.

      Not sure for the collision lines. I think you must use an empty, but will need a "Type='collisionline'" statement in the object properties. Sorry I cannot recall the exact syntax.

    Hello, I have a problem, my aircraft collision model cannot load properly, it will wear the mold, but my LODS file and entry file are fine

      Some things to check: 1) Have you made the collision mesh a child of the parent armature? 2) Is your collision mesh a manifold shape with only quads and triangles? 3) Are the normals of the collision mesh in the correct direction? 4) Is your model a static object?

      @@fireblaze7994 Thank you for your response. I have set my collision mesh as a child of the parent armature. I duplicated my original model to use as the collision mesh, and set it as a "shellnode" in the EDM menu. I did not set the normals for the collision mesh. The model already has ARG animation. 谢谢!

      :D I got used to it due to my aggressive flight style. That was caused by VRS, best to pitch forwards and fly out it. Collective will not help much in VRS

    Must have been almost a decade since I seriously played lockon, attempted to run DCS after that but my PC was too shit. Years ago saw this video, it gave me the jitterbugs and decided to give it another whirl with upgraded specs. Fast forward and I'm back in my simpit hardware everywhere. Nice vid, fun flying!

    This is completely usely, as you cant use the keys in replay mode. The worst kind of lying is not saying. While I fly I can change views. Ok try landing when you have an external camera below the plane pointed from the front side. Impossible. Try to view it in Replay after saving the Track Impossible. Just another lame bug of that bugyy simulation ?

      A bit harsh saying I am lying? A lot have people have left good feedback, so would you not assume that the information I have given is genuine. For working trk files this will work, else you have a different key set up. For sure often trk files do not replay. Especially ground attack replays where unit deploy randomly. I understand your frustration but don't take it out on me friend :)

      @@fireblaze7994 I'm saying you are omitting a main information, I have never found a replay track where the external views are active, I don't care about an information I can easily figure out as in your video, it makes me losing time, a lot of time searching for the solution of a buggy DCS. the solution, I found it elsewhere, you need to rename .trk as .miz and edit it in the mission editor, where camera's can be activated, then rename them back to .trk On replay mode you can choose then much more angles and perspectives of situations worth editing than your planes set in autopilot...

      @@tomsawyer2112 I see what you are saying, but it is not me omitting info if the creator of the miz files turns off camera views. If it is a trk file from a PVP combat mission, creators mostly turn off cameras to prevent cheaters. Great you found a solution all by yourself.

      Could be the path to the textures is wrong. If you are viewing in model viewer you also need to load the textures, which is in the same context menu as where you load the EDM

    The only part you seem to have missed was actually confirming and finding the new object in the mission editor. I think everything worked, but can't find it in the mission editor, and don't know where to look to see if there was an error of some kind.

      If you cannot find it in the mission editor then it has not worked. If I recall correctly it should appear under statics. Worth reading other peoples comments on this video as solutions have been provided

      It is a replay of the trk file. DCS trk files also record VR head movement. I was lucky this trk played back correctly and was not corrupted.

    IIRC, scale modifiers are sometimes used to animate jet engine nozzle contraction/expansion. And IK chains can be used for complex undercarriage geometry animation.

      Sure these animations can be used in the modelling process, however these anims are not exported by the Blender EDM tool, even if the IK chain anims are baked. I have found only one aircraft anim which seems to use scale, and that is the drag chute. Blender maybe able to export scale with bone deformation, though I do not know for sure as I have never had a use for it in my models. ED models are made to be as precise as humanly possible so I am not sure scale for engine nozzles would be appropriate. Scale is an anim that I could only see a see use in organic models, not f meshes that simulate engineered objects. I would use use rotation and position anims for nozzles. IK can be used in Blender or 3dsMax as a template to align non IK bones for each keyframe, but not by parenting to the IK bones. I would love and happily accept to be proved wrong with regards to IK exports, as it will save a load of time and anguish when modelling. Remember the Blender EDM was created by community members, and is not support by ED.

    Hey FireBlaze! I'd love to start picking at a side DCS project module concept. I was wondering if you could share any links you have with a very very basic example of a DCS module available? I didn't know if you open sourced the one you worked on or not? I've been digging in the lua files and using another module as a base, however found out I'm removing hundreds of unused and unneeded things just to get a base module working for testing. Thanks much!

      Hey best to look for f16 mod from a while back which included source c++ for a EFM. This is not to be confused with the official ED version, it was from a few years back, but i found it on ED official forum. Also look for the wunderluft mod. I spoke to the A4 mod developer and he expressed that it was ok to examine their lua code.

    It’s just called a lua file, not l u a. The language name is lua (portuguese for moon)

      My understanding came from searching Google which suggests that a .LUA file contains code writen in the Lua language. First result from searching on Google seem to confirm this.

      Not all features are available when using the Blender export tool, as they are in 3DSMax. The Blender tool is unofficial, and not support by ED.     This is a very good mod. I'm working on a DCS mod. There are difficulties in producing lights such as gun firing animations and navigation lights of ships. Can you tell me how to do that? Or is there any reference for that?

    This is so much more interesting than the boring usual "fly, hover, pop up, shoot, realise they're not shooting back, keep shooting, something hidden kills me" I do... Nice skills! Also looks much more like the real ka50 onboard videos I've seen.

    Yeah I tried for a week to import obj and sketchfab and fbx to export as edm. I couldnt figure it out and nobody wants to help. Thanks alot..

      @@fireblaze7994 what is that supposed to mean? Actually it's not ace combat elements I'm trying to export I just need a generic castle and a generic explosion. I put down the armature, parent the object to the bone set edm to render, check the materials and try to export but get nothing. Although when I use your files, the box and it's textures appear. I try to export edm with your filename and replace the textures but get nothing. I've just been try to use free models from sketchfab

      @@goodboy1269 It only means I remember a conversation with you about assets for Ace Combat missions in DCS, though your name is now slightly different. Have you check that the model is UV unwrapped? You must also check that the model does not have any ngons.

      Ah wait your initial comment was sarcastic. I understand why you asked what I mean. I am not always, very good at understanding sarcasm, most people think I am autistic, but if I am IDC, at my age it wont matter. I think if you check your messages, you will find that I did offer you my Discord so you can contact me directly. People that do modelling are usually very busy, so my offer was actually very kind, seeing as I have a full time job, and a family.
