Assigning Faders is an amazing feature that all engineers that work on, or plan to work on should know about. It isn't immediately obvious, so I thought I'd make a instructional about it.

    Thanks. How do you change the local IP address of the SD9? The actual IP is 0.0.0.0.

    Of course Digital has to make it sort of weird. LOL. Can I go grab a router on my way to my gig tomorrow and try this out. Thank you for the video - I definitely would’ve got tripped up without it.

    Hello, was wondering is there a way to connect multiple iPads ?

    • @rayaudio9792
      @rayaudio9792 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not through this method. It can be done with third party OSC apps.

    There is a quicker way of doing this go to the layer section on the master screen then select and clear the layers. Could only be the SD10 tho..

    Great video! Connecting an ipad stumped me for a long time. Have you figured out how to connect more than 1 at a time? Re subnet masks, you can set the mask on the router to anything that opens up the available IP addresses to within range of both the router's address and the console's address. A subnet mask of 255.255.0.0 opens it up completely so that any address between 192.168.<0-255>.<1.255> is available. Not all routers have this capability though, especially some of the cheaper DLink units, so it might be a bit of trial and error and going back to the store to return the one you just bought for a more "industrial" one. I have a WavLink dual band router/AP that is quite powerful (0.5W), "Aerial HD2-AC600"; I have never had Wifi issues with this unit in a variety of venues. My console's address is 192.168.6.168 and my routers are all 192.168.10.1, so I have used a subnet mask of 255.255.240.0 which opens up the range of 192.168.<0-15>.<1-255>. Your mileage may vary... Cheers!

      All you cannot connect more than one iPad through this process. You can add more by using OSC commands and touch OSC through up to 16 iPads.

    • @johnsharpe7584
      @johnsharpe7584 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rayaudio9792 That's true! I also discovered the non-multiple ipad thing too. Sadly, I also just discovered that having the router's subnet mask the way it was broke all the other devices' communications with our ipads (Shure wireless, Meyer Galileo, etc). Don't have time to troubleshoot right now, not sure what is going on. Interesting about the OSC commands, how is that set up in the desk?

    Hello mate, thanks for the vid. I have a monitor job with an SD12 coming up, never used one before. The stress!! Can you create a fader bank from scratch or you have to copy an existing one to an empty bank slot and then reassign the faders you want?

    Would you mind to show how you make the wire connections to the router from the board

    • @rayaudio9792
      @rayaudio9792 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its a cat5 from the network port to the router, exactly as you would with a computer. Just need to make sure you have 'enable network' selected in the options tab on the master screen and your router will provide DHCP.

    Hi, i have a digico sd11, same engine and when i connect the console with a router, (set it up correctly) the lan board doesn't lit and xp says lan cable not connected. Do you know? Thanks

    It looks like the input ch stays? Example...bass ch is in input 10, but is on fader 4... Thats not good for my way of thinking...i wish if the order is arranged, the input matches the fader position...(like x32, m32). This way is confusing, and would require etxra steps to reassign inputs as well...

    • @rayaudio9792
      @rayaudio9792 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its all in how you deal with it. When i get a patch list on a festival that is a global list, you don't want channels that you're not using clogging up the mixer. This way, you don't have to reassign any of the patching and you can choose what you want on a layer in the same way as custom fader layers on a Yamaha or A&H. You would reassign inputs in the normal way, your patch doesn't change, input 10 would still be in xlr 10 and that is always visible at the top of the channel strip on a Digico. I completely respect the fact that everyone has their own preferred way of working though so many thanks for your thoughts.

    Hi! Can you swap faders in snapshots?

    • @rayaudio9792
      @rayaudio9792 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      please see below: Yes. In the Snapshots Window, Click on Scope, then Recall Scope and make sure "Banks" is checked. Set the surface to whichever banks you want and update that snapshot.
